J.A. Wright is a lover of sunshine and sand, which she feels is part of the reason she has such a sunny outlook on life. Rather than allowing her life-long diagnosis of epilepsy derail her dreams, she chose to focus on not only living her best life despite the difficulties caused by her condition, but also to encourage others to do the same through her novels.

J.A. is known for writing beautifully complex stories whose characters are both lovable and relatable. Fans of J.A. applaud her ability to infuse heavy topics with wit and humor, making her a fast fan favorite. J.A. writes realistically flawed characters whose challenges cause them to grow as individuals. J.A. Wright writes stories that resonates with readers in both romance and women's fiction but intends to explore new genres in the future.

J.A. Wright currently lives in Florida with her daughter. In her spare time, she is often found at the Dojo practicing Taekwondo where she is a Second Degree Brown Belt, and Hapkido where she is a Purple Belt. J.A.'s other hobbies include archery, singing loudly in her kitchen while she bakes with her daughter, reading, and looking up cute pictures of puppies on the internet.

This is the 1st book I've read written by J.A. Wright; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I’ve never read anything by this author before, I was drawn to the book via the blurb. The book itself is brilliant, the plot is a great one, but the characters are amazing. There’s a lot of drama and emotion in this book and it’s an awesome read.

This was a well-written book that put me through an emotional roller coaster. Good characters. And a newer author for me. I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

This book delves into difficult subjects such as spousal abuse, bullying, unseen disabilities and fighting for sobriety. The actual acts of abuse, bullying and epileptic episodes are not described in gory detail, but rather the aftermaths and consequences are examined in more detail. These subjects are meant to highlight the problems and difficulties faced by Evelyn, her daughter Alyssa, and their new friend Alec. Evelyn is not a woman to be pitied. Yes she has Epilepsy, and yes she has been a victim of abuse. But she had the courage to finally leave her abusive ex and flee as far as they could in order to make a better life for her daughter and herself. She is a fierce Momma Bear, a warrior when it comes to defending her daughter against bullies and the short sighted school faculty who would punish her daughter for punching her taunting bully, but not the bully himself. Alyssa is not at all happy to have left the father who has constantly told her that her mother worked all the time to avoid her. Her mother’s seizures are a source of embarrassment for her, but she knows she can’t prevent them. Alyssa gradually learns the truth of her mother’s devotion, with a little help from Alec.

Alec is a recovering alcoholic who needs to separate himself and his life from former friends and an ex who are more than willing to continue partying and drinking. Evelyn and her troubled daughter capture his attention and his offer of friendship is gradually accepted. He makes a great buffer between mother and daughter, and shows both of them that not all men are manipulative, abusive and controlling. As the threesome grows close, Alec and Evelyn’s exes reappear determined to get retribution and to keep them apart. Read this wonderfully engrossing book to discover how this story unfolds.
