The Rabbit Saga #4

Anomaly, Beyond the Rabbit

Rate this book
Anomaly [uh-nom-uh-lee] noun. Peculiar, odd, or singular. Two Rakum remain. Their powerful and god-like race, 100,000-strong, has been wiped out by the God of the mortals. Unwilling to ask or even ponder why they remain intact—least they trigger their own fates—Elders Kilmeade and Canaan awaken from the melee to find their remaining brethren slowly transforming into humans. Can they maintain their supernatural birthright with sheer will, unwavering veracity, and by consistently sating their bloodlust? Kilmeade has seen the Maker and cannot un-feel, nor un-hear what his angelic visitors reveal. Depending on the older and wiser Elder for guidance, Canaan determinedly follows Kilmeade’s lead as they are tossed into the spiritual battle all flesh must wage before taking that final breath. There can only be one victor; will the Rakum be erased forever? Vampires are fiction, but the Rakum are real.

"Anomaly" is the fourth installment of Ellen C. Maze's Rabbit Saga and is about the spiritual battle of the two remaining rakum, Elder Kilmeade and Elder Canaan, after their brethren have transformed into humans.

Can Kilmeade and Canaan survive or will they face the inevitability of making a decision-for God or for flesh?

Up until now, we have only experienced Canaan and Kilmeade on the periphery. In "Anomaly", we get to see more of their personalities, their struggles and their past.  You will love them.  You will cheer them on. And you will be amazed at their transformation before they even know they are changing.

The spiritual battles and the spirituality contained in the Rabbit Saga and particularly in "Anomaly" will provoke you to think. Without giving too much away, the final chapters will make you glad you read the entire series. And that last scene--well, don't hold your breath or blink. It's awesome. I'm looking forward to "Conundrum".
