Richard A. Brealey is a British economist and author. He was formerly a special adviser to the Governor of the Bank of England and Visiting Professor of Finance and the Tokai Bank Professor of Finance at the London Business School.
Very simply explained, with a wide range of topics and good practice problems. I've only worked through a couple of chapters so far, but they've been scattered throughout the book and have been consistent in quality. Good for beginners, especially with the MIT 15.401 lectures that can be found online.
