There’s no turning back from the path to Ascension.
Lenny would do anything to belong to a real family again after bouncing through foster homes most of his life. When he’s finally chosen, the family isn’t the kind he had in mind. He’s forced to die to join them. Worse, he’s expected to make three kills to confirm the blood bond. Lenny convinces himself it’s a small price to pay for immortality with a family who really cares about him.
Hunting for his first kill, Lenny doesn’t count on running into Ashley, Jane, and Crystal, the bullies who made his life at school miserable. Not only do they fight back, they decide he’s a vamp and needs to be exterminated. Overwhelmed by their combat and weaponry skills, Lenny barely escapes, vowing to take them down another day.
After a disastrous confrontation with Lenny’s new family when he learns their true plans for him, all four teens must run for their lives. The girls give Lenny an join us or we all die. So, she turned to fiction writing and is now the award-winning author of the humorous Cornwall & Redfern mysteries and the Blood YA urban fantasy series. She co-authored the Blair & Piermont suspense series, and occasionally will write a short story just for the heck of it. Her newest project is a “Mechanic Falls Gem Caper”, titled Worlds May Change, co-written with author Jamie Tremain, and penned under Ferris Tremain (catchy, eh?).
Gloria loves old cemeteries, and all things “skull”, managing to work one or both of these elements into her books. She once tried to write a serious book but it didn’t go well, so she abandoned that writing style and now lets her snarky humour prevail.
She lives in southwestern Ontario and is a member of the International Alliance of Independent Authors.

Original! Hilarious! Set in Canada, and soon ascending to your "best books" list
An unlikely hero, a disastrous situation, and a group of girls determined to make their lives better.
The dead ones are spreading quickly across Vancouver Island and the federal government had imposed travel sanctions. Nobody on, nobody off the island. Food and medicine drops are made three times a week, but the Canadian government isn’t dropping Louis Vuitton purses. That oversight is enough to turn any teenage girl into a killer of the undead. Ashley, Jane and Crystal have to get rid of the bloodsuckers or they’ll never be able to take the ferry to Vancouver for a shopping trip."
For Lenny the loser, and new rookie bloodsucker, life is just as hard as it has ever been--school had sucked, home had sucked, and foster care had sucked. At first, ascension to fangdom seemed like the answer to all his problems. But, now, life is just as sucky as ever. And if Lenny doesn’t start feeding, in a week he will become a dried-out husk, his body curled up in the culvert. And nobody, human or ascended, will even remember him.
Lenny and the girls have one thing in common; none of them wants to die like a tool, but that’s exactly what will happen if they don’t band together and survive until help arrives.
