After young Jenny and Adam are involved in a motorcycle accident, emotions conflict when she is left paralyzed and embittered while he is heartsick with guilt
Short version: There are many YA novels that are worth reading as an adult. This is not one.
Long version: A while ago I found this book at my mom's house when I was cleaning it out--I had read it as a kid (30 years ago!) and thought it ended really abruptly. Then I realized that the final sentence didn't have a period and that maybe it wasn't the end--that there were some pages missing. 30 years ago I couldn't do anything about it but as an adult I could track down a used copy of the book and finally read the very end. It still ends abruptly. And as an adult I can see how poorly plotted it is and how cardboard cutout all of the characters are. Sadly not worth the 30 year wait.
This was an amazing book. I couldn't put it down. On the other hand, I didn't like the ending, mainly because there almost wasn't one. I would recommend this book, but just be prepared to be sitting there surprised that it is over.
