God "overseas" everything....

For nursing student Sadie Flynn, life is about helping those in need and decompressing with the thrill of extreme sports. After witnessing the destruction of her parents' marriage, Sadie wants nothing to do with love and romance. She's fine setting goals and achieving them alone--without a man to derail her plans.

Personal trainer and competitive yacht sailor, Jett Martin is a disappointment to his father, who always wanted his son to follow in his footsteps, as a tough military fighter. But Jett is nothing like his father. With his new invention gaining interest in the sailing world and an upcoming competition to prove his worth, Jett is on his way to his own version of the top. But when an injury threatens to destroy his chances for credibility and a lucrative future, he knows he needs help.

The courageous and risk-taking Sadie is the answer to his prayers. With his expertise and her strength, they're an unbeatable pair. With physical attraction tempting them, Sadie and Jett must keep their eyes on the prize. But God has other plans. As they face adversity and danger, will God's will have them racing toward one another instead of the glory of the win?

Beachy, heartwarming and inspirational, Laurie Larsen's love stories contain a bit of faith in addition to the Happily Ever After. Her beloved Pawleys Island Paradise series gained fans, not only because of the stories and unforgettable characters, but the "arrogantly shabby" real-life island setting.

A multi-award winning author, she's won the EPIC Award for Best Spiritual Romance, the Illumination Book Award for Inspirational Romance Fiction and the eLit Award for Religious Fiction.

Laurie began her writing career back when she was juggling a challenging day job in Information Technology Management. Bewildered as to how an English major who loved to read discovered herself in a highly technical career path, writing became her creative release. Because "all good things come to those that wait," her reward finally arrived: retiring from the day job, moving to the beautiful South Carolina Lowcountry and writing novels full-time; at least, in between lathering on the sunscreen, walking the beach, and entertaining her feisty rescue pup, Weezer.

A member of Romance Writers of America for fifteen years, now, she's the President of an American Christian Fiction Writers chapter. She's lived her own Happily Ever After for over thirty years.

I loved this book! This is the fourth book in Laurie Larsen's Murrells Inlet Miracles series. I have read the entire series and would strongly urge you to do so as well. The books should be read in order for timeline purposes.
This book focuses on Sadie Flynn, the daughter of Shaw Flynn who you meet in the first book of the series, . She has her life mapped out. Nursing degree, running marathons in all 50 states and not falling in love because she saw what that did to her dad and mom. That is until she starts noticing Jett Martin. He was the personal trainer who taught her how to properly prepare for a marathon.
Jett is into yacht racing, an extreme sport Sadie hasn't tried. He takes her out on his boat, the Majestic and she is hooked. When a contract to produce Jett's invention is presented to him, he's gung ho. All he has to do to make his dreams come true is place in the top three of the Newport Bermuda race. However, when an injury prevents him from sailing single handed as he planned, he begs Sadie to help him out and moves to the double handed race. Despite her initial misgivings, Sadie agrees and the lessons start to prepare her.
With so much on the line, the two set out and find that they make a great team. They work well together, they enjoy each others company and have the same competitive drive. But when one of them makes a mistake will it cost them the race, the contract and their budding relationship?
This book, like the others, is well written with realistic and likable characters, a believable storyline and an understanding of sailing. It also shows us the power of prayer and seeking God's will for our lives.
I was gifted this ARC in exchange for my honest review. And I honestly recommend it.

This is the 4th in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. Although there was a nice surprise with Shaw and Nora from a previous book being given part of the storyline.
Jett is an ambitious sailor who struggles with his relationship with his father. Sadie is a marathon runner, trained by Jett a couple of years ago, and now about to run her next one. She’s also a student nurse.
Jett and Sadie meet again after a few years and rekindle their friendship. But could it be more? The excitement ratchets up when Jett breaks a few ribs and needs a mate to help him place in a sailing race. A sponsorship for a product he’s invented depends on it. Sadie has never sailed before but is willing to accept the challenge.
Cue a nail biting race which made me rather glad I was curled up comfortably on my chair with a blanket around me!
This is another good book in this series, well worth a couple of hours reading.

Having seen her parents' marriage fall apart, Sadie has no plans to marry because she doesn't want to end up the same. Besides, she's busy and happy with her studies and her love of extreme sports. But when Jett, who helped her to become a marathon runner, injures himself only a week before an important yacht race and needs help to compete, she's drawn into close contact with someone to whom she is already somewhat attracted. Will Jett be able to convince her to give their budding relationship a chance, or is it doomed from the start?

As the fourth book in the series, it was nice to see a bit more of some of the characters from earlier books, though the story itself can be read as a standalone. Like other books by the author, the writing is good and the content clean. I enjoyed seeing the relationship between Sadie and Jett unfold, and the insights into marathon-running and yacht-racing were interesting, though I can't say I was inspired to try either (not that that was the point of it). With useful messages about our worth being about how God sees us, not how others do, and the encouragement to pray about things in our lives, I also found it an inspiring book, though more towards the lighter read side of things.

I'd really have liked to see a bit more of the development of the relationship between Jett and his dad - maybe a subsequent book? - and would love to see more about the lives of the newly-married couple too... All in all, a good read and I look forward to seeing more by the author.

Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.

Sadie Flynn, nursing student and marathon runner, has vowed to have nothing to do with a man after the failure of the marriage of her parents. Jett Martin, personal trainer and competitive yachtsman, strives to make it on his own in the face of the disappointment of his father.

Sadie and Jett first worked together when he trained her for her first marathon. Sadie then continued her workouts on her own, while Jett was busy inventing a sunscreen for sails. If he can place in the top three of the race he has entered, a company is willing to finance the product. Shortly before the race, Jett is injured while training, now needing a partner. Sadie and Jett become a team once again, this time leading to romantic feelings as well.

This is Laurie Larsen's fourth book in the Murrells Inlet Miracles series. Her detailed writing of the area and the sailing world put you right there with them. The part I liked best about this story was after Jett's initial hesitation about Sadie praying was her decision to live out her faith in front of him rather than "preaching" to him. This is so important for all of us to remember.

I received a free copy of this book. I volunteered to read it and write a review.

“Capsized” will Inspire You to Try Something New!
My mind went to a different place when I read the title “Capsized!” However, as I turned each page my interest in the characters piqued during this 4th novel in the Murrell’s Inlet series. Sadie Flynn is an exciting young lady who inspires readers to challenge themselves to participate in sports that test your abilities and endurance. She’s also a talented and serious nursing student. Wow what inspiration young women can draw from her life! The re-introduction of Sadie’s Dad, Shaw and his love interest Nora brought back good memories of their beginning in Sanctuary. Laurie Larsen has a unique way of writing that makes you feel like you’re reading about your own family and friends. You always meet old favorites in her novels. After catching up with Sadie, Shaw, and Nora you meet a new charming trainer/sailing expert Jett Martin. It’s an unfolding story about Sadie and Jett, their friendship, commitment, team work, and budding love set in an exciting fight to the finish Yacht Race. I enjoy a book where I learn something new and Yacht Racing was new to me! I couldn’t stop reading this book!

Oh, wow!! Another great book, with some twists and turns I didn't see coming!! Sadie grew up knowing her parents didn't love each other, though they stayed together, living different lives. Her mother was never a mother, and her dad tried to be both mother and father. She decides she'll never fall in love. That changes when she meets Jett. She tries to keep him at arms length, but when she enters a sailing yacht race with, everything changes. Jett has his own insecurities, starting with the verbal abuse he received from his father. Jett left home as soon as possible, and decided he would NOT be like his father. He has done pretty well for himself, though he's missed having someone on his side who believes in him. When he invites Sadie to race with him, he's looking for a first mate. He finds so much more!!!! Spending time with Sadie makes him long to have a relationship with her, but also with God. When things look pretty bleak, he realizes he needs to turn to God and give it all to Him. When he does, watch out!!!

I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.

I love this author's style. Within this read we have a girl who has let fear govern her decisions when it came to relationships. She has however become very interested in extreme sports craving the adrenaline rush. He's helped her i the past and to become what she is and now he needs her help. Battling with his own baggage centering around a verbal and emotional bully of a father, both of them team up in a competition. He introduces her to the world of competitive yachting and she introduces him to prayer. Suffice it to say this is a clean read with biblical references and teachings. What this author does is incorporate it all so seamlessly into the story, that it flows through the story showing God's actions, and the scriptures that guide us through the understanding of the God we serve. She does all this and entertains you with a great story with characters we love too.

Sadie Flynn is focused on completing her nursing degree and finishing a marathon in each of the 50 states. She doesn’t have time for romance. Her personal trainer Jett Martin and Sadie are attracted to each other, but she fights it afraid it will get in the way of her goals. Jett competes in sailboat races and when he breaks some ribs training for a solo race, he asks Sadie to be his first mate in his next race so he doesn’t lose a potential sponsor and investor in his new invention. When Sadie makes a rookie mistake that causes him to almost lose his boat and his chances with the sponsor, she feels awful and runs. Jett is luckier than he could imagine when the investor still wants him despite his struggles, but will Sadie ever let him back into her heart? This was a clean romance with lots of action. I loved reading about sailing and all that goes into it and all the extreme sports Sadie was looking into. It was also great to catch up with Sadie’s dad Shaw and the love of his life Nora from Sanctuary and read about the next chapter in their romance.

Capsized is another wonderful story from Laurie Larsen. The book works well as a stand alone, but I have read all the Murrells Inlet books. It is nice to get updates on the characters from previous books. I know almost nothing about sailing, but I felt like I was on the boat with Sadie and Jett. Both characters had a lot of baggage - Sadie from living the disaster that was her parents' marriage and Jett whose father is an abusive bully. Sadie is crewing for Jett who was injured preparing for a very important race. I liked the characters growth as they went on this adventure. This is a clean, Christian romance and I highly recommend it. Whenever I get a new book by Laurie Larsen, I sit down and consume it!

WOW! Non-stop action, I didn't want to put it down. This is another great book by Laurie Larsen. She has really maintained her high bar of excellence with this newest release. The main couple, Jett and Sadie, were characters introduced in earlier books in this series. There is so much going on in this story that the reader {almost} wants to try and jump in to help. Great characters, great story, lots of non-stop action, beautiful Christian imagery, and very clean. I would recommend this book to all.
I received an ARC copy of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review with my own thoughts & opinions.

A Beautiful Romance

Lauren Larsen brings us Capsized, book 4 of the Murrell's Inlet Series.
Sadie, daughter of Shaw in book3 has her own story. She reconnected with Jett ,
her former personal trainer and both feel a mutual attraction.
I loved the storyline about extreme sports that focused on yacht racing and of course romance.
This book has multifaceted characters including an epilogue of Shaw and Nora's story.
This book can be read as a standalone but as part of the series adds to the enhancement of the characters.
This book is recommended for those who love Christian romance.

This book really has a lot going on in it.
Yes, It is a wholesome Christian romance that I have come to expect from Laurie Larson.
But there is more than one romance. The characters have depth and interesting pasts. I learned so much about a sport that I hardly knew existed.

Living in the Chicago area I knew about the race across Lake Michigan, but reading about an ocean race that took several days was almost unbelievable. Definitely a warm, pleasant escape on a snowy day.

What a great story-line! I really enjoyed the story and was hooked on the first chapter. I could not put this book down. I was able to relate to the two main characters very easily. And some of the issues that were explored in the book made me take them away and think about them in my life. Loved the book!!

I loved reading Capsized. Normally action-adventure mystery (Steve Berry) or historical fiction (Ken Follett) fill my reading hours, but this was a welcomed change. The characters are easy to get to know and pulled me in. It was enjoyable going to sea with Sadie and hoping she could put her relationship upright!

I've really enjoyed this series. Living in the area, knowing the landmarks mentioned made the stories come alive. Also reading about God's love & influence in our lives was a plus. Will definitely read the Pawleys Island series.
