Probably would have rated higher but with the shorter length comes a jump in time and a very quick HEA. That said, the first 85% was really well-written and engaging. The characters had depth and I was completely invested in the story. If the next, longer installment is similar, it will likely rate higher and I'll be happy to keep reading the series.

This was very short. I knew that going in so I didn’t hold that against it. My problem with this story is that there is too much telling and too much inner monologue.

This was a short quick read that I liked. This was the start of a new series. Malcolm Carlyle is a 42 year-old Alpha geek who is also a virgin. Malcolm is tired of working for someone else he is also tired of his boring life and is ready for a change. Leo Dyer is a young omega who is a party planner he is also tired of being the planner and never the groom or the one who is not holding a baby. I liked this book and believe I am going to like this series but this book had no hot sexy times. I have read this author before. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

I did what I'm not supposed to do. I read the beginning of a series without having the next one available. DARN IT! I wondered how the Bates Brothers would handle a trope I really enjoy. (Coincidentally PSYCHO is on & Janet Leigh has just arrived at the Bates Motel as I write this. And I keep hearing that creepy music [those violins] in the background). I completely enjoyed this story and it was an excellent Prequel for a series about matching new lovers.
Although it's called the Omega Dating Agency, it is just as much for Alphas. This story set the stage by showing the contrast of happy Omegas and who'd partnered with their dream Alphas and a disillusioned Alpha. (Oh No! The shower scene🚿🔪!). This was upsetting and jealousy inducing. And while many were happy for the couples, even sponsoring baby showers - there were always the ones that thought when - whether his day would ever come?
We have two men who literally run into each other accidentally on more than one occasion. Something sparks, but both the older Alpha and younger Omega tried to deny the spark of attraction. Each too disappointed in past relationships to believe a new one between them would stand a chance.
There are a lot of strong emotions expressed in this story. A big one is fear. Far easier not to take a chance. No possibility of being hurt again. This is a sweet story, but also full of sad moments. It makes the reader ache for pain of the MCs. Knowing a HEA was coming made it possible to continue.
I am super excited to read the next in this series, Book One - THE RIGHT MARCH which fortunately is being released December 4th. Aiden and Austin Bates are to be commended. (OMG Arbogast is going up the stairs and now backwards pursued by MOTHER!) I am so glad I had this wonderfully sweet story to erase those gruesome scenes.

Unhealthy out of nowhere!
Note that I didn't finish this book. Like, okay. Abo is a guilty pleasure for me and I realize that it has a lot of problematic elements. But I got though the majority of this little novella about a sad corporate drone looking for something more from his life and a bouncy guy looking to settle and I was super pleased when they finally met. All good, fairly good writing, good characters, hooray they're going on a date.
Then the date is canceled and instead of talking about their mutual issues like grownups, the bouncy guy goes to the restaurant they'd met at and gets drone's address from their records! Then he goes to drone's house! And drone's house has no personality and he keeps lashing out at bouncy! And then it turns out drone is a virgin and bouncy pressures him into sex!
And all of this is treated as totally normal! No comment on how creepy bouncy is being or the fact that drone is acting like someone with serious mental problems who could turn violent. These people had met twice just in the wild. Their total time together uo to this point was probably 10 minutes. It's totally wack

So much real life in this story.
Malcolm is the alpha but he is far from the typical portrayal. He is a bitter, lonely, and disillusioned man. A man whose "entire life seemed to be on a plateau" or maybe a bone dry salt flat. Not the most flattering opinion one has of themself. His life was in the proverbial rut as he never had an intimate partner, no one to share his life with. But as gate would have it a bump in with omega Leo (maybe intentional) could or would change both their lives. A great prequel to a new series that promises many matchmaking successes in store.

i Love this story! This is the prequel to the Omega Dating Agency series. In this book, Leo is an omega who thinks he will never find his alpha to live happily ever after with and have a family of his own. When he accidentally meets Malcolm, he is drawn to the older alpha. Malcolm is a bit of a geek and never dated. When he meets Leo, he is interested in him, but doesn't think Leo would be interested in an older man like himself. When Leo asks Malcolm for coffee, he agrees, but then cancels at the last minute. Leo is disappointed, but takes matter into his own hands. i really enjoyed this book and i have been reading the rest of the series and loving it also. Great series.

Loving Leo & Malcolm!
Leo is a sweet, younger omega looking for his own HEA. Malcolm is a geeky older alpha who thinks he is too old to start dating. What they both want is a real relationship. A chance meeting brings hem together and while they can't stop thinking of the other, it is Leo who becomes the pursuer.
This is a great start to a new series with really interesting characters, plenty of steamy action, an abumdance of sweetness, a storyline that keeps your attention, geekiness, determination, doubts, love, HEA, and so much more! I really enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it.

Not what you expect.
This book is definitely not what you would expect. Yes this book is about an Alpha and an Omega however it is kind of reverse when it comes to who is chasing who. Leo, the Omega, is the one who make the first move on Malcolm, the Alpha. Malcolm is super shy and is stuck in this rut and doesn't know how to overcome it. He is working a standard nine-to-five when he realizes that he wants more out of life. There's also a little twist to the story that I personally was not expecting. I'm excited to figure out what is going to happen with this app, Almega, that Leo and Malcolm are working on.

Great start
I have fallen for these 2 men and can't wait for the rest of the series.
Malcolm and Leo are 2 men who have both been hurt in the past and have practically given up on finding the one.
A meeting at a restaurant and again in the street leads to the promise of a date. That is until Malcolm lets fear rule, good job Leo won't be beaten.
As their feelings deepen they work together on a app that allows men to connect who may not have been able to in their everyday lives.
So looking forward to the next installment of this fantastic series.

Hoping life will cut you some slack can be difficult...
Neither Malcom nor Leo has had an easy time with relationships, and as each enters this quick read they still have dreams for the future, but can’t help feeling life needs to cut them some slack.
The story also introduces Dexter who clearly has a backstory, and hopefully has a happily ever after in his future.
A self contained, done in one quick read, this prequel establishes the world, and how the Omegas can hope to find true love in it.

Cute story
I’ll admit, I don’t read mm and was going out on a limb to see if it was something I might enjoy. I mistakenly thought this was an Omegaverse story as I was a bit disappointed when it didn’t turn out to be. It does have a little mention of Abo dynamics, but that part didn’t play a large role and could easily been left out making this a contemporary romance. There are a few typos but they weren’t too distracting, I think I’m more unhappy that it didn’t live up to what I was expecting from it.

This was a sweet and cute story of two men who feel as life as they wanted it has passed them by. Malcolm is forty two and now wonders how he has let time slip away from him and never achieving what he wanted most...a family. Leo is a much younger omega and he also feels that he will never get the family he wants. Will these two men find each other and find what they both want in each other? An excellent set up for the new series by these talented authors. Good read.

4.5 stars. Malcolm's dull routine life is interrupted by vibrant Leo. It was sweet that Leo pursued the uncertain Malcolm when he didn't show for their date. I liked his bravery. Malcolm obviously just needed Leo to bring out his confidence and change his life to one full joy. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

The App.
Finding an Omega to suit him now that he was in his forties was probably never going to happened, then someone bumpted into him at a Restaurant. He was really cute and gave him his business card.
As an Alpha he wanted a real relationship for the long haul. Finding Leo was just what ne needed.
I am looking forward to reading the next stories in this series.

I enjoyed this sweet and precious romance centering around, Leo, and Malcolm. I loved the way that they found each other and how together they created the dating app called, Almega (which I find to be quite imaginative). The story is well written and the ending touched my heart. Fun and passionate. =)

I think the characters are great in this short story. The times when their personalities come out are the best. The rest is unbearably boring unfortunately. Maybe with some editing and flushing out of the characters, it would be improved. It is a short story however so maybe the author wasn't wanting to give too much away.

that was fun!
This is a short story so not much character/relationship development but it was sexy and enjoyable. I will definitely read more books in this series.
PS. Maybe it is not worth full 4 stars, but there was soooo many reasons that I felt connected to Malcolm it made me really happy to see him in love :) Plus, Leo was a real sweetheart

Nice lead-in
A programming nerd, nearing the midpoint of life (although the genre labels December) accidentally bumps into the younger Omega (May?) The ensuing romance mildly develops and fleshes out the protagonists, as the story's voice alternates. A hot scene, without the typical alpha/omega physics. A normal relationship developing normally.

Overall the book was good. The story of Malcolm & Leo could definitely have been longer with more details. A very short and quick story sometimes doesn’t paint the overall picture of the relationship and lacks the feelings necessary for a reader to bond with the characters!

I received this prequel from the Bates brothers for an honest review. I enjoy both brothers writing style and have read novels written separately by both. When they write together, it is truly enjoyable. This new series appears to be a winner, the preliminary introduction to the series is engrossing.

Great book
This was a brilliant prequel, to get us introduced to the alpha/omega dating app. Also get to know Leo and Malcom. Two pretty amazing characters. This was great to read before book 1, I felt informed. A definite must read to start this series.

Another great Aiden Bates book
I have become a fan of Aiden Bates books I see now the name Austin Bates not sure if that is his husband brother father doesn't matter they write well together I highly recommend this author or authors I should say
