Zorin had hoped Mergan's imprisonment in the Mirror Realm would set him free, but her presence pervades everything, even his mind. Every day that passes, her taunts and control strengthen, testing his newly realized feelings for Cyndra. Although the island has been a refuge, he must convince Cyndra and Rune to leave, once again, to find the remaining casters on the mainland before it's too late.
Cyndra's growing elemental powers continue to test her bond with Zorin, making it difficult to stay on their mission to save everyone stuck in the mirror. Old friends and new memories help Cyndra come to terms with her traumatic past, but when Zorin is trapped in the very prison he has protected for twenty-five years, Cyndra will sacrifice everything to save him and heal the world.

This was fantastic! It was exciting, heart breaking, cheering, biting your nails on the edge of your seat fantastic! I found myself at times holding my breath hoping what was going to happen next happened. I got angry, I cried, I giggled and I cheered. Jenn Nixon continued with this story in the same manner as she started it, with a huge flair. I came to really really hate Mergan and her games with Zorin. She couldn’t just leave it to him, nooooo, she had to start with Cyndra too. She is such a wicked witch! The Casters and Zorin had to find a way to get everyone out of the mirror and leave Mergan in there, or everyone comes out and the Casters deal with her on land. Either way it is very risky and if someone went inside to find Evie and the others, can they come back? While standing in front of the mirror, testing their theory, Zorin was pulled into it. Now the fun begins! As the story progressed, I realized that these you Casters are wiser and more mature then the people in the mirror. I understand that you want revenge. I understand how long you’ve been there. But come on, thank your rescuers, not punish. This part I just shook my head in discuss, knowing that it happens every single day in this world too. Anyway, I absolutely loved this book and this series. I truly hope that Jenn Nixon has the next book in the works, cause I know there has to be more to come.
