After the sudden death of the aging man her father arranged for her to marry, twenty-year-old Kristin Stianson intends to make her own way in the world as a seafaring trader and merchant. But when she decides to share her new venture with a pair of Celts, she soon finds herself wondering if the handsome brothers will become much more than just her business partners.
Until 2010, Ashe was a director of a regeneration company before deciding there had to be more to life and leaving to pursue a lifetime goal of self-employment.
Ashe has been an avid reader of erotic romance for many years—historical, contemporary, fantasy—you name it. Now, at last in control of her own time and working from her home in rural West Yorkshire, she has been able to realise her dream of writing sexy and compelling stories herself.
She draws on settings and anecdotes from her previous and current experience to lend colour, detail and realism to her plots and characters, but her stories of love, challenge, resilience and compassion are the conjurings of her own imagination. She loves to craft strong, enigmatic men and bright, sassy women to give them a hard time—in every sense of the word.
When she’s not writing, Ashe’s time is monopolised by her role as grandma to a lively toddler. She shares her writing space with a tortoise called Teefer.
I read this book as part two of two, back to back with Conquered by the Viking. It may be read as a standalone but is far better when read together with the second book. These two books are similar to Ms. Barker's trilogy of Her Rogue Viking, Her Dark Viking, and Her Celtic Captor. They take us through a bit of the expansion of the Viking culture through the spirit of some of it's people. It further explores the melding of the Viking and Celtic peoples. Although beautifully historical, there is plenty of spanking, hot (ménage) sex and D/s within the relationship of the main characters but with less BDSM than in some of the author's other works that I have read. The stories and excellent writing really helped me to feel the desires, drives and personal goals of Vikings and Celts during this period. The books have action, adventure and adversity, but superior HEA endings for a lot of characters. The HEAs in part two are even more satisfying and uplifting than at the end of part one.
Ashe Barker is unquestionably an exceptionally skilled and versatile writer! “Her Celtic Masters” is a captivating historical tale of dominance, submission and sweet romance. Extremely fast-paced and professionally written, Ms. Barker is a master at weaving historical fiction, interlaced with sufficient historical accuracy as well as erotic heat. Places, characters and events are vividly portrayed, providing a vibrant framework to stimulate the readers imagination, literally bringing the story to life. “Her Celtic Masters” offers up compelling, complex characterizations featuring two totally hot, dominant Celtic heroes and a strong, independent, intelligent Viking heroine, determined to achieve success within a Patriarchal society. Fans will enjoy the appearance of prior characters and the intricate role they play within the current narrative. Although previous characters help to influence the story outcome, “Her Celtic Masters” reads as a complete, standalone novel.
Readers of intelligent and entertaining historical erotic romance will certainly appreciate “Her Celtic Masters”!

This was a solid 3.75 stars. I was very surprised by this story. Going into it blind I expected the usual Viking story, but this one was a little different for me. The story and characters evolved slowly for a good portion of the first half of the book. Then “wow” the author turned up the heat to sizzle with Kristin and the twins.
I assumed this story was going to be short and sexy. But this story is actually really good. There is a full-on assault on the Celt by the Viking and things go to h*ll pretty fast.
Kristen, a Viking woman has little say in her own life. She is married off to a horrible man. When she is finally widowed her life she finds has meaning.
That includes Nyle and Bodwyn twins that are finally finding their way in the Viking world. This is a good story with family and love. Good read.

ARC Provided by Booksprout🌱 I also got this ebook with KU.
This is a real adventure and abduction novel in the beginning. There were a few continuity problems. Corn was unknown in Europe until the Americas were discovered, hundreds of years after this story takes place. I'm not sure about the spice trade. I loved the story as it progresses into a love 💘 story between Kirstin💃💋 and the two twin brothers. She realizes she cannot choose between them...and they both choose her.
There is some cruel violence of course from the Viking🐉 Raiders, and the two brothers are spankmeisters👋👋but they love their Viking 🐉 Princess💃💋. Pillaging and raping by the Viking 🐉raiders is mentioned but not described in detail. Great 🌎world building by Author Barker📚!
This book is a well written and developed Viking story. The author definitely did her research and it shines through in the wonderful world building, the details of the social structure of the era, and and the ways a community functioned. The complex characters are well developed, along with the back stories, and makes the story multi dimensional. The strong female character is intelligent, headstrong, impulsive and naive, and unfortunately needs the protection offered by her two companions. The hot menage sex, and aspects of BDSM brings together a great historical erotic story.
Downloaded from BookSprout. I received this book free from the author for my honest review. Since I rely heavily on reviews to make decisions about purchases, I will never lie or over-exaggerate my opinion. There is nothing worse than seeing a bunch of 5 star reviews and realizing the book is full of errors or just plain bad and not worth my hard earned money!
Loved this 2nd book in the series. Kristin has captured a wanted runaway slave. Never did she imagine that this one incident will change her life forever. After delivering her captive, she finds out there's another one exactly like him! An identical twin! Bowdyn has a huge chip on his shoulder. His parents were dead. He and his brother Nyle were taken by the Vikings as slaves. Years go by and he and his brother are now free. Bowdyn is shocked to see who returns his brother. Bowdyn and Kristin have a past. Although their encounter was brief, it left an impression on both of them. Too bad Bowdyn can't get that chip off his shoulder. Luckily his brother Nyle knows how to handle his brother, in order to get what they both want. Their both attracted to Kristin. Can they really share her? I loved this story, although it's hard to believe that their relationship would be accepted in that time period, it made for an very interesting read!
It seems Ashe Barker has mastered the art of creating an incredibly hot Viking story. I've loved all her Viking books and this one was no different. This time it features Celtic twins Nyle and Bowdyn and Viking Kristin. Taken from their home and forced into servitude, Nyle and Bowdyn have a reason to hate Vikings, yet somehow they can't seem to stay away from Kristin. Kristin is very independent yet can't seem to say no to the two demanding Celts.
This group came together really well. The romance was a nice blend of sweet and hot. I loved the adventure side of it as the couple as they all set sail together. I really hope the author decides to continue with this series.
I enjoyed the story of Kristin, a viking woman looking to make it in the world as a trader and the twin Celtic men that want to make her theirs. There are spankings and other corrective punishments as Kristin learns that her celts mean when they tell her she must obey them. There was a lot of back story and many interesting secondary characters and it all added up to an exciting story of celts and vikings as they all learn how to live together in spite of their original warring ways. Great story that keeps your interest from the very start, to the HEA.
❤️❤️❤️❤️ 💋💋💋 Really good read from Ash , enjoyable and tense with some beautiful scenic moments, of Celtic or Norse mountains or seas . I really enjoyed this book, a thrilling storyline and superb characters . It’s believable and interesting, also loving and emotional . Loved the whole premise for this story and the fact there was more than just the 3 of them to follow and learn about, there were some really good secondary characters in this , making it more interesting. Great read !
Yay! The Vikings are back. I love this series and was so glad to see another story in this world. Kristen is in an unusual situation for a Viking woman while at the same time so are Nyle and Bowdyn for Celts. The story takes a little time setting up the backstory but then it heats up and flies. I enjoyed seeing characters from the previous stories and learning how things are going for them.
THIS BOOK WAS RECEIVED FROM THE AUTHOR FREE OF CHARGE - TO READ AND REVIEW ON AMAZON Kristin who had worked alongside her father in his trading enterprise twenty she was an excellent trader she had learned her trade working alongside her father, however she was not a man and because of this she discovers that her father sold her into marriage for ten hands of silver to a man older than her father. To her complaint he had told her that she would need a husband and that she was not getting any younger also that the man he was marrying her to was almost as old if not older than her father, however her father seemed to quickly disregard this point. The Vikings attacked their village killing his mother and father along with many more of the village both male and female, the survivors then were carried away in their boats and they were carried off to their lands to be sold, worked and the women will most probably be used as bed slaves. Bowdyn decides that she is going to begin looking for her brother Nyle he knows that if his twin brother was dead, he would have felt it deep within himself and as the time passed, he lives with the determination and hate he held he would find his family and he would get home no matter the cost. Kristin quickly realizes that the arrangement will mean that the two stern handsome brothers haring much more than just her profits. The two stern, handsome brothers intend to make her theirs, demanding obedience, punishing defiance, and mastering her beautiful body together. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
If you read “Conquered by the Viking” then the characters will ring. We now find out what happened to Merewyn’s brother’s. Bowdyn is looking for his brother Nyle. He was able to save Deva. She ends up betrothed to the Viking, Torsteinn.
The brothers know of Kristin from their past when they were first brought to this land by the Vikings. Fast forward 2yrs, Kristin wants to start anew. Her husband is dead, her step-son’s will see her as a whore and gold-digger, all she wants is to live a comfortable life. She just needs help starting off. Bowdyn has been searching for his brother Nyle and almost lost hope but when he sees his sister happy and married to a Viking. They want to help find Nyle. They are reunited but Bowdyn still has anger towards the Vikings. Nyle, for the rough life he lived he has come to terms with it all. He holds no grudge against Merewyn’s husband nor against the one that married his past love Deva. He has made peace with it. But he does have his eyes set on Kristin.
A lot of back story in this book. We get to find out what happened to the brother’s when they were captured along with Deva. They both had a rough journey, more Nyle than Bowdyn. But with Bowdyn, his trust is an issue. I was a bit upset that he could not believe Kristin when she told him of her plight at first. But as they all grow closer the past comes back. I am glad to see that justice was done for them all. Happiness was found for all as well.
I picked this book up immediately after Conquered by the Viking, and I think that may have been a mistake. I should have let things simmer for a bit before continuing on to the next book. I expected Her Celtic Masters to start somewhere near where the previous book had ended. Instead, we're back all the way at the start of Conquered by the Viking, and I was just annoyed that I have to wait for these characters to meet (again).
I was so intrigued by Kristin in the previous book that I couldn't wait to start this one. She already seemed to have more depth and character than Merewyn did (though Merewyn wasn't awful, she just wasn't a fully fleshed character). But that depth didn't seem to translate very well into this book, and I found that to be the biggest disappointment. I also thought many of the reasons the twins found to discipline Kristin were incredibly far-fetched and unfair to her.
I have to say that I was a little underwhelmed by this duology, though I enjoyed having a different historical setting than what we usually get with historical romances. The BDSM aspect was also something I was looking for, so I can't complain too much that it wasn't exactly what I wanted. Still a nice, sexy diversion for a few days.
—>>> Twin Celt brothers Nyle and Bodwyn’s lives are changed forever after a brutal Viking raid which landed their parents killed, and their family scattered. Nyle and Bodwyn end up taken and sold as slaves in a harsh new land to Viking owners. Both brothers have different experiences, which renders one twin extremely bitter against their captors and the other taking a pragmatic approach, waiting patiently until he could plan an escape. Meeting Kristin will change them, and fate will work in their favor as they all move on in the second half of the book.
The reader is treated to everyday Viking society with hierarchy of thralls, karls, jarls, and chiefs through the eyes of the main Celt characters as well Kristin, a unique Viking heroine, as those captive Celts are integrated. I believe the men’s acceptance of Kristin as they support her dream of becoming a trader was quite forward thinking for their time and cultures, and the twin’s patience as they show claim her and show her how she belongs to them quite steamy!
I loved the history, suspense and struggle of the characters as they struggled to find their way in a very violent world. This is Nyle and Bowden’s story from the time that they are swept away by the Viking horde until they find their HEA. As historical fiction, this was a wonderful read and I think Ms. Barker should consider writing some of this type of fiction without the romance. I was transported to another time and place and I loved it. I didn’t feel the connection between Kristin and the brothers which is why I am not giving this story 5 stars. This book can be read as a stand alone but the experience as a reader is improved by reading the author’s other books set in this world. I voluntarily am posting this review.
Nyle and Bowdyen were stolen from their homes, their father murdered and their mother raped and left for dead. Through good fortune they survived although life as slaves was harsh. There sister ended up marrying a Viking who came to her shores a year later. She petitioned her husband to help her find her two brothers and through his auspices they were reunited and freed. Along the way they met Kirstin whom both eventually fell for. The descriptions of Viking life and trading are interesting. Their love life, however, was quite unconventional but worked for them. Of course being an Ashe Barker book there were a number of spankings involved, which I hardly believed that Kristin would put up with. However an HEA was enjoyed by all.
I really enjoy Ashe Barker's historical books. And this is a great addition to those stories. Twin Celts Bowdyn and Nyle are taken captive and separated in a Viking raid. Bowdyn saves Kristin's life and is rewarded with a whipping. Through a series of events, the 3 come together and becomes partners in business and lovers. I liked the build of the relationship and the inner struggles to come to terms with the Celts feelings towards their enemies, the Norseman. Plenty of steam and overall a well paced book. Now I have to read Merewyn and Mathios's story in Conquered by the Viking. It's on KU so free with your subscription. I received this ARC from Booksprout and this is my honest review.
Love the Viking/Celt entanglements! I may not be able to pronounce all the names correctly, but my imagination more that makes up for this shortfall. Yes, the chemistry is always steamy, but the highlight is the storyline that is gripping, filled with tension, and takes you back to another time to the point you feel and smell the sea and village life and real life fades away. We visit and catch up with past favorite characters and meet new ones who have an unconventional plan, but one that is guaranteed to fuel your fantasies and leave you wanting more. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could - great read.
This book was so, so good. It was a good plot, had plenty of steamy elements, and had enough romance to make it more than just sex. Kristin is headstrong and has been the only one she can truly rely on for years. Nyle and Bowdyn are Celts taken to the Norse homeland. The three together are magnificent, and I don’t use that word lightly. There are some unexpected complications, but everything works out in the end. Honestly this is the best book I have read in some time now, and I read at least half a dozen books a week.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I am not sure where to start so I guess at the 1st thing that bothered me... I am ok with bdsm books to a degree but this spanking thing took over the book. The story worked around that instead of having a story with a few scenes. It felt kind of monotonous in areas. I liked the story line but I felt like we got the skeleton version. I would have loved to hear more of their travels before going home and then after they left their homeland for a new place to live and what it was like to set up a new settlement. The story could be enriched so much but wasn't... I loved the 1st book in this series so I may try reading more of her work later on.
This story is very good, however it takes quite a while for the main characters to meet. There is a lot of background before the couple comes together finally. The twin Celts are sold as slaves to very different places and it takes awhile for them to find each other. There are a few chance encounters with the Viking lady but not anything to much happens for them as a couple until they all get to their Sisters Viking husbands home. I liked the story but I probably won't rush to read another, mostly because the background to the relationship just took too long to develop and I was a bit put off by the surprise finish. Vikings... Not mediterranean
A really great book to read. I love how Ashley has written this story as a stand alone, but at the same time brought backpeople from her other stories. Also , i have to say that it was good to finally get the brothers story, i was wondering if we would. Thank you for that. Kristen has made a deal with the two brothers Nyle and Bowdyn, but her sharp tongue see her getting a spank i ng, but not only that she has to learn to obey the instructions that she has been given . So with not only a belt but branches she soon learns that she must trust the men and maybe fall in love with them both a
This author transports you back in time to when the Vikings pillaged, raped and murdered and you didn’t stand in their way. Two Celts stood strong in the face of adversity, both leading entirely different path once they were captured. Kristin a young Viking widow reunites the the twins and sets their libido on fire. Kristin is just trying to make it in a man’s world with the limitations placed on her gender. They all come together and set of for adventures, will Kristin submit to her to Celtic masters?
I have to admit reading this before "Conquered by the Viking", but as the publisher's note states, this is a stand-alone and had no problem following the storyline. What an amazing and arduous account of a set of Celtic twins and their village is raided by Vikings, being enslaved, and ultimately sold as thralls. Following their journey was a bit slow at first and took me a bit to get into the tale but it did pick up eventually and I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline that followed. I would recommend this book whole heartedly.
Her Celtic Masters is a Dark Viking Menage Romance by Ashe Barker, who has the ability to tell a wonderfully amazing story. She is forced to accept help from vikings and she has reason not to trust them. This time they will take everything and more. These characters are well crafted and are very believable in their reactions. These characters have depth, chemistry and maybe even romance. This is a must read dark romance with strong themes that may have triggers

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the characters and storyline so much. Except for the bad guys. It was sad with the Celts Village, their parents, etc. A hard life for sure! Kristin, Bowdyn, Nyle, Merewyn, Mathios, Rowena, Deva and Torsteinn all made a great family. And I’d trade the snow and cold for warm weather any day!! On to my next book. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜
Kristin is left homeless and plans to start over as a seafaring trader. To survive she will need money and men able to protect her. She partners with Celts, Nyle and Bowdyn, however they want much more than a business partnership, they want Kristin as their own. Fast-paced read with intense, steamy chemistry, plenty of drama and action-packed. I really liked it.
