K. N. Timofeev has written the type of book where you are dying to read more. Timofeev has a knack for developing meaningful narratives on each and every page. Take a chance, you won't be disappointed.

Greetings my internet peoples,

Normally this is where I tell you lots of useless information about myself that I spent hours agonizing over.  Meh.  If truth be told, I really didn't feel like doing that.  I'm not a formal person, so why should my about me page be formal.  Here's all that you need to know about me.

I LOVE BOOKS.

No seriously, I love them.  I can't get my hands on them fast enough.  I love the written word.  I love it so much that I have been writing since middle school.  Sadly, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, I never shared any of my stories, preferring to squirrel them away like a dragon does with gold.  It wasn't until recently when the wonderful world of self publishing erupted, that I even dared to share my stories to with the world.  (screaming to death).

So here I am, exposing a side of myself that I never would have before and you know what?  I like it.  There is nothing more satisfying that holding something that I have worked so hard on in actual book form!  It blows my mind each time and if I were to be totally honest, I would have to say that I'm a little bit addicted.  Any who, thanks for stopping by and take some time to check everything out.

Great book

Great book with a lot of details, as I was reading I could see the characters and the environment. As I started reading it was very hard to put down. Excited to see next book and how the story unfolds

This was a solid 3.5 for me, but I rounded to 4 for personal reasons.

Let me get my negatives over with first.
The largest is probably the typographical errors in the edition that will likely be resolved in later printings.


Also we never really get a description of Erin. I mentally created my own for her, which may likely be the authors conscious choice, but I kind of like at least a guideline for my mind to cling on to and build from.

The end showdown, while gratifying, seemed largely to be brief in comparison to the rest of the book.


The good:
I can't list it all, there is a lot.

The character building for more prevalent characters is pretty well done. I find I am often impatient with characters who are going through a trying time and see themselves as weak. It's not that I don't like them or appreciate their journey, I just get impatient. However, this was not the case with Erin. She was presented well, her struggles were legitimate and believable. I was behind her uncertainty and fight to regain herself every step of the way.

While there are certain tropes and stereotypes of the genre in play here, they don't feel unnecessarily harped upon or used as a crutch, and the genuine feeling from some of the characters over shadows it anyway.
The village seems so amazing that I feel the distinct urge to go move it small town Ireland. Why not?



I do with certain things had been less obvious Connor being bad , some things has been more fleshed out Erin's spell training with both Fae and her grandmother, the ending fight but all in all, The Last Guardian fits comfortably and neatly with its genre.

The characters are enjoyable, its a story anybody can get behind and cheer on. Definitely a recommend, and definitely a huge high five to the author for her first book!
