Overview From Book 1: In a single moment, everything changes. Hundreds of thousands of people suddenly collapse, leaving their friends and loved ones behind, terrified and confused.
Moments later, the fallen rise and the survivors become the hunted.
Follow three intertwining stories through the apocalypse.
Will Kessler works a dead-end warehouse job in Tennessee, driving a forklift and unloading shipping containers. When he wakes up from a nap during his lunch break, he finds most of his co-workers have mutated into monsters, and they have turned the 50,000 square foot building into a war zone, murdering any other survivors. Alone and weaponless, Will must fight through the undead horde to secure the building and answer one question: Is he truly alone?
In Texas, Gabriel Alexander boards a plane, thinking he is heading back to his wife and daughter in Washington D.C. After his flight takes off, several passengers fall suddenly ill, sending the cabin into a panic. Soon, the sick passengers go on a rampage, attacking others on the plane, including the pilot. And with no one to fly the plane, it dives toward the ground, taking Gabriel and the start of the apocalypse with it.
Jessica Davies runs the front desk of a hotel in the North Carolina mountains. It seems like another dull day of checking tourists into their rooms when she receives a call from a guest to bring them some aspirin. The elevator door opens, forcing Jessica into a hell she could’ve never imagined.

A familiar scenario: survivors of a zombie hose, vs zombies and humans who only want to take from others. The author's knack with a turn of phrase, made the stories interesting and easy to read. Zombie action isn't as gory as most other zombie tales, and there is little profanity. Hints of sexual urges, but interspersed with threats of sexual violence against females. Loads of characters which made keeping up with them a bit challenging ( all I do is highlight the name, and click"Search" and then click "Book". Boom, you've got each time the name is mentioned and giving you a refresher on who/what they are). The ending of the 6 books is much like other zombie tales: something along the lines of " and they strived to establish a safe and happy future". But that was unsatisfying for a 6 book series!Luckily, the author wrote a whole book of epilogue stories set 30 years ahead. Jumping in on that right now!
I have reviewed each book separately, so will just say that this series was fast-paced with a great writing style, though some of the grammar irritated me.
There was plenty of action, a good cast of characters (good, bad and ugly), and though not an original plot, it did have a twist.
Overall, this was a very good story; disturbing, too. A story that highlighted the terrible things people do, provoking the question as to whether humans deserve to survive, despite some heroic and decent moments
This was an EXCELLENT series that takes you into a storyline no zombie book ever has before. I was surprised, shocked, saddened, mad and entertained. You definitely want to read this one.
This book has been read, laughed at, gasped at, raged at, cried over, nd is now cherished nd treasured by Kittee. Quite possibly THE BEST Zombie apocalypse book series out there! DEFINITELY Read It!
Great character development. Fast paced which kept mt interest. An author not afraid to kill off the good guys. I only wish there was some resolution to the religious aspect of the story.
Really did enjoy this series..could not put it down ..just one thing ..no one is safe and that is what i.loved and hated about it..really awesome..u won't regret reading it...
Yes please!! This series was a good one! I finished in a little less than a week. I fell in love with so many of the characters. I hope this turns into a show!!
An entertaining fast action emotional rollercoaster ride in the apocalyptic world of Empty Bodies. Also an intriguing unputdownable read! Well done Zach!
I saw someone recommended these in a group. Let’s just say, I cried for the characters! Great fast paced, gory, loving and tragic! Great writing! Definitely trying his other books!
Mark Tufo has me spoiled with quality zombie apocalypse story telling. I found myself rolling my eyes a whole lot in this book. It was good, just not great.
Great story. Nothing you haven’t seen before if you watch zombies movies or tv shows but the relationships are the real story. Definitely recommend. its been a while since a book made me cry but i was crying at the end of the last book.
