POSEIDON: Russian Doomsday BOOK ONE by S.A. Ison is a very well-written book in a two-book series that is beyond great. Russia is developing a nuclear missile weapon torpedo and the development has been leaked that they plan to hit the U.S. even though negotiations are taking place between the two presidents to work out a none aggressive peace deal.
With this information being leaked on the internet, our main characters put together a strategy to ensure their survival. Pike, a real estate agent in Georgia moves to Missouri to reunite with a longtime friend Margo to prepare for the worst. In doing so, they seek the help of a prepper, Sayer and his life partner Joy, who has more knowledge on what might be needed to survive a TEOTWAWKI event.
In addition, the storyline includes spies working to determine what Russia is planning to give the U.S. a chance to prepare and defend itself against the attack. It also brings into play the viewpoint on a family aspect through Harley who is a traveling salesman with a loving wife and two twin boys who are in South Carolina and Dalton who is a farmer in Nebraska.
Of course, there are the bad guys too. Kalvin who is a lifetime thief and his sadistic partner Mike who is a ruthless thief, murderer, and rapist who has no scruples or conscience.
This book is well developed with intriguing situations with characters who are well-developed, likable everyday people who have both strengths and weaknesses that are easy to relate to and follow. At the same time, the villains are easy to find yourself routing for them to be taken down for good.
If you haven't had a chance to read any of the books S.A. Ison and you enjoy a well-written, suspenseful, and a action-packed thriller, this is a book that will hold your interest from the very first page in the first book to the final page in the second one.
I have really become a fan of S.A. Ison's books and though I still have a few to go before I have read all she has written, I have found all of them really enjoyable and hope you will too. Her voice in which she writes in will leave you wanting beige read all of them.
Quotes:
"Politicians seemed more interested in their own agendas than in the people whom they served."
Good read but horrible story. Interesting characters that were easy to get invested in. Well written and interesting premise. I look forward to reading the next book.
