Here is a Top 10 list from Ann about her likes, dislikes, and oddities:
1. I despise whipped cream. There, I admitted it in writing. Let the ridiculing begin. 2. Even though I have lived as far south as Key Largo, Florida and as far north as Maine, I landed in the middle. 3. If I don't make a conscious effort not to, I will drink nothing but tea morning, noon and night. Hot tea, sweet tea, green tea––I love it all. 4. There doesn't seem to be much in life that is better than coming home to a couple of big dogs who are overjoyed to see me. My other family members usually show significantly less enthusiasm about my return. 5. Singing in my bestest, loudest voice does not make my family put on their happy faces. This includes the big, loving dogs referenced above. 6. Yes, I am aware that bestest is not a word. 7. Dorothy was right. There's no place like home. 8. All of the numerous bottles in my shower must be lined up with their labels facing out. It makes me feel a little like Julia Roberts' mean husband from the movie 'Sleeping with the Enemy,' but I can't seem to control this particular quirk. 9. I love, love, love finding a great bargain. 10. Did I mention that I hate whipped cream? It makes my stomach churn to look at it, touch it, smell it, or even think about it. Great––now I'm thinking about it. Ick!

FREEBIES are often good for MORE than one day. I have gathered all my FREEBIES on a special shelf: Kindle-freebies (currently over 600 books) https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
This fell off the mark for me. It was OTT and unrealistic. Yes, yes, I know this is fiction.
For a 28-year old woman to suddenly go from 'never had an orgasm' (not even a selfie) to blowing Os all over the place, that's like going zero to sixty on the back of a slug - highly unlikely, and exceedingly unbelievable.
The first time she gets with Seth, her inhibitions and her insecurities vanished faster than a fart in the wind. Then, somehow magically, it seems, she has enough confidence to go to a fundraiser, and unintentionally mashes with the twin in the bathroom. But even after learning that she just mashed uglies with her date's brother, does she stop her sexual fantasies about said brother? No! She's somehow drawn even more strongly to the brother.
After spewing the 3-word kiss-of-death, there's the requisite blow off from Seth, followed by Abby injuring herself, so of course she has to be rescued by Sam, and of course she has sex with him, and of course he's instantly enamored by her, just like his brother.
When she was married, she was never able to conceive, and after seeing he ex with his pregnant girlfriend, Abby immediately assumes that she's barren, so of course it's ok to have unprotected sex, with two different men! And did fertility testing never cross her mind? If she wanted children so badly, don't you think she'd at least consider all her options, including adoption, before giving up? Hmm, I can't conceive with my husband, so I must be barren, and oh, well, I guess I can't have kids.
So, of course she gets pregnant after having unprotected sex with two men, then, boom, the end. Cliffhanger the size of Alaska. Boo!
And is it wrong of me that I was thinking, why does she have to choose one? Por que no los dos?
I will not be reading part 2 because I just cannot bring myself to care.

***THIS BOOK WAS GIVEN TO ME IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW****
I was totally prepared for this to be the "typical" romance-y, chick-lit read. You know the kind i'm talking about...the main character is your average, everyday girl next door and on a spur of the moment incident, she finds her knight in shining armor. From then on the story is pretty predictable. Well, this book didn't really fit into that scenario, well maybe in the beginning but it definitely has a few twists and turns that came unexpectedly.
The beginning of the book was pretty even paced, maybe even a little predictable, but the banter between Abby and Courtney kept me reading. Once Abby meets Seth (or Sumptuous Seth as she fondly refers to him) it REALLY picks up. Something is awakened inside of Abby (in MORE ways than one) and she comes into her own. There is a part in the book where Seth asks her to a benefit and the book takes an interesting turn. I don't want to elaborate too much for fear of ruining it for those who haven't read it. But I was NOT expecting it! From this point the book gets even juicier and i didn't realize how fast I was turning the pages until I got to the end and realized it was a CLIFFHANGER! I immediately went to see if the next book is out (which by the way it is NOT but will be entitled "Making Choices).
This was a fun, easy read with some steamy scenes and funny banter. I can't wait to read "Making Choices," because I KNOW what choice I want Abby to make!

Taking Chances book 1 of the Davis Twins Series by Ann Omasta is a breathtaking fast paced romance with one woman having to choose between two brothers, if that’s not bad enough our main female character has many insecurities from her past marriage. A lot of drama in this series and I absolutely love it! What’s also great about this series you get a sneak peek into Abby's friend Courtney's romance with bar owner Joe.
Abigail Brown is a 28-year-old divorcée and after a 2-year long marriage that ended badly Abby has lots of insecurities and thinks she is “broken and barren”. So with her best friend Court and boss Annie encouraging her to date or at least talk to the opposite sex she finally takes their advice to say hi to a hot guy. Unfortunately, Abby changes her mind to late and after a very awkward but successful meeting Abby starts to see Seth, but when she is invited to a charity event that Seth's family is hosting Abby finds out that Seth also has a twin brother and their meeting is even worse! Having mistaken Sam for Seth leaves Abby feeling awkward, nervous, and highly aroused whenever she sees Sam, it doesn't help that Sam is coming on to her whenever they are alone.
Seth and Sam Davis are identical twins but with completely different personalities Seth being the good twin and Sam being the bad twin both feel strongly for Abby, but now she has to make a choice on who she wants now the brothers aren't just trying to one up each other this competition really matters. There is a lot of comedy in this book as well my favorite quote in the whole book is “Don't go down this path again. There is nothing wrong with you. That two-pump-and-dump b******, who was married to you for two years but didn't take the time to learn how to please you, is the one who should be feeling bad about himself.” reading that made my day! I'm excited to continue Abby's story in Making Choices book two in the Davis Twins Series. If you like love triangles and drama, then this series is definitely a must read!
This is not the type of novel I usually read, but because it is well written and entertaining, I found myself sneaking in an extra naughty chapter or two whenever I could, even during class time.
The author is very good at capturing how a young woman feels around men she likes, all those insecurities and self-doubts and internal dialogue and justifications, etc.. The cliffhanger at the end threw me for a loop as I was so into the story by that time...guess I'll just have to get the sequel now to satisfy my curiosity.
Definitely recommended when you have a day or so free, because you won't want to put it down!
Here's another half-book published as a stand alone and offered for free. In order to find out the conclusion, you have to purchase the second half. Not likely. I pretty much like my books to have the beginning, middle and end under one cover.
Ann Omasta is a skillful author. Shortly into the novel, Taking Chances, I became convinced that I knew what I was getting: the simple story of an average girl who meets a stunning prince-type guy, and, as in a dream, he falls for her, tumbling head over heels into her unassuming amazingness. Predictable, right? Um…not so much.
In her novel, Taking Chances, Omasta details the ordinary, but pleasant, life of Abby Brown, a reasonably attractive young woman of average employment who is rather lacking self-esteem. Our protagonist, however, has some emotional scars from past tragedies that she has not allowed to destroy her, but rather have encouraged her to depend upon, and wholly trust, the strong and positive relationships with the women in her life. What is missing in her life is a man, and Abby has a healthy interest in rectifying this situation, but not to the point of obsession. Abby’s regular-girl persona, along with Omasta’s clean and unpretentious writing style, draws you right in to the plate, leading you to believe that you know exactly what pitch is coming next, and that’s when she throws you a curve ball.
At the expense of spoiling the story’s secrets, I will offer that a tall, gentlemanly, and very handsome package is not always quite that uncomplicated, and this can also be said about the love relationship that Abby find herself in. Likewise, I found myself reading until the early hours of the morning, unwilling to put the book down, so as not to lose my connection with Abby and her little, let’s say, dilemma. I tried to ascertain Abby’s best move, but, again, it was just so hard to do! Yes, for Abby, when it rains, it pours.
Included in Taking Chances, is a healthy amount of steamy sexual interaction, which I again found to be unexpected, as Abby is not your average, garden-variety sex kitten. So be prepared for heat; Abby tends to follow her body’s newly discovered needs, often at the expense of her mind’s misgivings. In other words, Abby takes some chances.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Taking Chances, which ends with a cliffhanger. I will definitely be seeking out the sequel to this novel so I can discover if my prediction of what I think will happen to Abby, maybe even what I hope will happen in her love life, comes to pass.
Well, I've discovered one of the pitfalls of owning a Kindle and downloading ebooks without physically seeing the actual book. I think I just read one of those trashy, supermarket romances that I would have run away from, screaming. The only reason I didn't give this book one star was because I am way too sympathetic to characters and as flighty, sleazy and immoral as all of the main characters are, I still feel compassion towards them. There are so many things I could say about what is wrong with this book: quality of writing (i.e. "my girly bits"), believability of the plot (28 year old divorced woman who has never orgasmed her entire life goes to sex maniac coming by the mere touch of her nipples), shallowness of characters... I will spare you the details. And the predicament the main character gets herself into is so far-fetched that I have to believe I've just hit rock bottom. Seriously, this book makes the writing of the 50 Shades series look like Pulitzer material.
Taking Chances was an okay book for being the start to The Davis Twins series. The characters were okay but I wasn't really connecting with them. Then there's the romance on top of that and it was just okay for me. Again, I wasn't really connecting with the characters so the romance wasn't really keeping my attention either.
Not sure what the next book will bring me but at the moment I don't really have the desire to jump into it. Unless the book is way better - then maybe I will drop everything and jump into it. If not, I'll just wait until I have zero books planned that day and skim for something on KU.
In the end, the ending was a bit predictable and I have no idea when I'm going to get the answer to the question. Who's baby is it? I guess I'll find out whenever I randomly decide to jump into the sequel.
Don't think you can just grab this freebie and move on. I was completely engrossed in this story. Love all the characters even the secondary ones too. Great writing the author does such a fantastic job developing her characters and draws the emotion right out of you. If you like romance with a little emotional drama involving hit twin brothers dive right in a enjoy.
I couldn't put this book down once I had started it! Abigail Brown is a 28-year-old divorcee who has never had an orgasm, and we follow her through a journey of sexual self-discovery as she embarks on liberating and sizzling affairs with a couple of gorgeous hunks. Captivating and superbly written!
This is a passionate story. It is certainly "R" rated. It made me feel really straight laced. The vocabulary and the story line is WAY out there. I can't think of anyone I would recommend pick this book for a reading choice.
While I know anything can happen in life Abby was a straight up HO. No women is worth all that madness nor is any man worth the headache.. this type of love triangle URL’s my nerve to no end.. so happy this book was free.
I can't believe I actually finished this drivel. I don't know what pisses me off more - all the positive reviews, or that I actually read it to the end. Talk about ridiculous fluff.
i’m not even through the first chapter and i genuinely can’t pick it back up. it reads like a wattpad fan fiction that was written by a preteen with too much unsupervised internet access
It is certainly very sensual, but beyond that the book isn't particularly for me. I didn't really enjoy the characters and their romance. By themselves they're fine, but the romance part seems a bit unrealistic. I'd love for things to have been slowed down as well.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review... I really enjoyed this book... It had a lot of good scenes in it and a lot of sexual scenes in it also... I would recommend this book to anyone...
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Taking Chances, which ends with a cliffhanger. I will definitely be seeking out the sequel to this novel so I can discover if my prediction of what I think will happen to Abby. 💋 I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Holy crap this story had me on the edge. It's a sexy read with hot twins, lots of angst, seriously steamy sex scenes and a hard choice to make. Good ache, love the story and characters. I can't wait to read what happens next in this emotional roller coaster ride. This book was free and I volunteered to leave an honest review.
I chose this rating because this book was so good I read it in less than 24 hours. It is a cliffhanger, but, the author left a warning about that before I even got the book, which was free, so I was prepared for it! I would recommend this to anyone who likes hot twin males and struggles to find Mr. Right.
