Altruist is full of love and unfortunately some loss also. This family has gone through a lot of both but they always come out of it with a better understanding of what love and family means to them. Will there enemies ever learn that when you come for of Giacanti-Diaz Clan be prepared to deal with them all. My heart aches for yet another major loss the family suffered this time around because this character has been a longtime favorite of mine but I will always come back for more from Ms Frank because she has created thrilling and action packed storylines with characters you can’t help but sometimes love and other times want to strangle.

Is living for "Famiglia" Altruistic or Self-serving???

Contains Spoilers!

I am so disappointed by Altruist. However, that is my fault. Prior to Amnesty, I was finished with this series. It has been 3 months since I read Amnesty and I was finally satisfied. My questions were answered. I should have not looked back.

Altruist left me with more questions. It was filled with extremely short chapters - what amounted to a couple of pages in an e-book and not a page and a half in a printed one. It was again filled with errors as has most of the books in this series. Again, my fault for continuing to purchase these novellas. They're also overpriced for their size. Save your money. Read books of this genre by Latrivia Welch or Sienna Mynx or D. A. Young and others.

Selange was selfish. Alfonzo was weak and manipulated by Selange and his children. The children were rude to everyone except their mother. Hmmm. Is it ok to be rude because you're right? No, but that will get straightened out in future books, right? If the author is setting up a future series starring the children, I won't be buying them. The children are rude, disrespectful, condescending and arrogant.

Nico didn't matter. Is his strength and heart is waning? Why would you train your sons for a job you felt forced into and hated? What happened to the pure, sincere heart of the artist? How did Ari become a fan of Selange? It's one thing to forgive the woman who committed adultery with your husband. It's another to become that person's biggest cheerleader. Was it a case of keeping your enemy close or does money trump everything? Nico got that right, he would do nothing to interfere with his relationship with Alfonzo that had taken years to repair. Yes, Ari's loyalty to Selange was greater than her love for Nico. Would Sophie really put family members in danger to correct her mistake in marrying Yosef? Geo, Nico, Alfonzo and others were not taken in by him. Didn't Maria marry a snake? Forget that, hypocritical Maria never took responsibility for any of her mistakes. Sophie's death was unnecessary. It only makes sense if you were setting up a final book?

If this book was so bad, and it was, why didn't I rate it lower? I gave it a 3 so discerning readers of this series would be warned. When a book ends with more questions than answers and you know another book is coming, is that a cliffhanger? You have been warned!

Starts slow

Man did this book not disappoint. I'm so sorry that once again one of our favorites had been killed off, but this is a Mafioso family.
There was everything in this one, the sex, history, suspense, intrigue and a lot of action.
I see the young ones are definitely coming into their own.
Really enjoyed the book.

Keeping Hope Alive

The hope I have is that non of the major characters ever get killed off. I think that will be the last time I read any more of these books. I love the Diaz family and Nico's family as well. I think it's time for Little Al to.have a story

Sadness

As the series is drawing to a close, it gets sadder. I was happy to see retribution, but I hope all or the enemies met their end.

Don't mess with the Diaz/ Giacanti family

Even though Selange and Alfonzo were having marital problems, they both came to the realization that life together is much better than life apart. Al did not want to think about co-parenting without his Sela. The children were getting older and Sal is headed to college. I can see a whole new series on the next generation surrounding Sal, Aaron , Darren, Evie and Maddie. It was great to read about the entire family for a change. Yosef left the family with a big mess to clean up, but as the family has always done, they took care of that business. Sophie realized that Yosef was a bigger crook than she thought and swore off romance and could not wait until she would be with her beloved Carlo again. How prophetic is that.

I hate seeing the end of this series. I have thoroughly enjoyed each book. The family has loss it's matriach but the family is still in good hands with their new elder patriach Nico.

Another great book

This family has gone through more trials and tribulations than any family I know. But no matter how bad things get they always stick together. Death lives on their doorstep but love keeps the walls together. Looking forward to reading the final chapter.
