A proud geek and video gamer, and champion of complex female protagonists, Jo brings her page-turning screenwriting style to books to weave well-crafted, suspenseful stories with twists you don't see coming. She writes YA books under Jo Ho and adult romance books under Joanne Ho - most of them featuring dogs!
A self-taught screenwriter, Jo's writing life began when she created the groundbreaking, critically acclaimed CBBC action fantasy television series, "Spirit Warriors," which introduced leading actress, Jessica Henwick ("Game of Thrones," "Star Wars: The Force Awakes") to the screen. Granted the biggest budget ever given to a CBBC show at the time, it was nominated for "Best Children's Programme" at the 2011 Broadcast Awards, with Jo herself, going on to win the Women in Film & Television's "New Talent" Award in 2010. Jo even made history for being the first East Asian person - man or woman - to have created a British television drama series.
Since then, Jo has worked with some of the most acclaimed producers in the world with several television shows and movies currently in development, she also writes for games. When she isn't working on her own stories, Jo helps others with their work - she is one of the BFI's (British Film Institute) recommended script consultants.
Jo suffers from MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivities), a debilitating condition she has developed over the last few years which has left her mostly housebound. Unfortunately, it is still not officially recognized in the UK despite the World Health Organisation listing it as a physical disability. There is currently no help for sufferers of MCS in the UK. Unable to travel or attend meetings and writersrooms, she has lost many screenwriting opportunities but has refused to allow the condition to rule her life. Despite the wrench life has thrown at her, Jo started to write and publish books.
Her debut novel WANTED, Book 1 of the Chase Ryder series has been a bestseller in 15 YA categories. It also won top prize in the YA Sci-Fi category for the 2018 Readers' Favorite Book Awards. It is her dream to bring all of her book series to screen and she believes she can make it happen with her readers' help!
Jo lives in London and hopes to travel across America one day in a super kitted out, MCS-friendly, Zombie-apocalypse-ready RV with her lovely fella Matt, and three equally lovely kitties.
This episode has to be one of my favorites. We had some deep moments between characters, some drama, and lots of action with a side mystery. Oh, and how can I forget a possible blossoming romance?? The ending left me like ‘what’s going to happen’ on several different levels. I can’t wait to read the next book!

Summary: As the girls struggle to gain more control over their gifts, Michael continues to solidity his power. Marley enlists Christian’s help when another student encounters danger not of this world. Christian has to deal with his seemingly impossible feelings for Marley as she looks to another student at the same time. Michael’s nefarious plans for Cassie seem to be at odds with the feelings he has for her. Eve is determined to overcome the Michael’s rein of terror while Tyler’s determination to find her sister Ally puts her directly into Detective Saunder’s line of questioning.
This is a fast paced and intricate series with unique and fascinating young women struggling to protect and defend those around them as they learn what it means what friendship and trust really means.
Every time I write a review for this author I think I start with the words "Wow, I loved this book" and this book is no exception. The series is just so well written and the author has put so much thought and emotion into each of her characters and this really shows in the very cleverly crafted plots, that keeps you wanting more. Off to start listening to the next book, I would definitely recommend the you listen to the books in order. Marley learns more about her powers when she and Eve helps a fellow student who is having problems with a ghostly visitation, Rhett also learns more than she was planning on telling him. Will he run for the hills? Or will he turn out to be the one guy that understands? The girls feel that the police are not doing enough to find Tyler's missing sister and the only way to find her is to fight back by going after one of Micheals henchmen. This leads to Tyler and Cassie going on a stake out after a tip off from Eric's informant at Furnance. But things go wrong when Tyler loses her cool. Michael steps up his plans for Cassie and pays a visit to the local magic shop for a little help with his plans. The narrator is really good and I like the way she gives each character there own unique voice. In my view this is a winning team of author and narrator.
First Date Jitters is yet another great installment in the Twisted Saga. This is a great season finale as once again she answered many questions but gave us even more to think on...who is this 5th member of the coven???? Will these poor girls ever really be able to trust anyone outside of their circle??? Will Cassie survive the truth? Will Tyler find her sister?? Who will Marley choose? Will Eve ever shake her ghosts? How will Christian finally find his spot on the team?? How does Saunders fit into their lives,...will she be friend or foe?? Once again the imagery Jo Ho puts into her writing takes the reader to the scene and puts them in the moment. I'm so glad they are definitely there for one another and are opening up to each other and that Jo Ho is giving the girls little slices of normalcy and helping them deal with being a teen in college. These girls as any freshmen in college are muddling through the changes but they have so many more issues to deal with. Keep up the great job Jo Ho.
As powers are getting ever stronger, so is the fall out from consequential reactions too. Once again, there is a lot happening in this book. The lines between good and evil are blurring somewhat, and trying to place your trust in the right person is proving ever more difficult. The stress of such a big responsibility inevitably takes its toll, and as things head towards the final conclusion, you are left wondering what will become of everyone once the dust has settled.
I am really looking forward to the next book, but am also very wary of how things will come to pass. These books aren't very long and I am dubious as to how so many concurrent side stories can be straightened out, without compromising on the excellent plot.
Each episode gets better and better. I identify anew with these girls (at least one) each episode, and this one especially. Abusive relationships that make you afraid to do anything without first checking in with that controlling person. But so much more is going on in this series and I cannot wait for the next episode! With relationships beginning and heating up, and our girls opening up and talking about what has affected them in their past, plus a still-missing sister, the story does its job of pulling you into the story.

I received this book for free but the opinion is of my own. These books just keep getting better. Trying to make more of a stand against Michael. Trying to keep the group of girls going well. Trying to have normal lives while being pushed more and more to not only find Ally but to keep certain people off their tracks. They also realize that their powers are something that are complex and growing. They are trying to find who they can trust other than themselves. There are many questions few answers.
She discovers a chilling mystery close to home. What is the mystery? Someone is causing problems and the police cannot do anything about it. Who can? Will the mystery be solved? What will happen? Follow the journey and see where it will go

First date Jitters, my twelfth read from author Jo Ho & the tenth book in the new series that I began late last year & continued recently, an enjoyable, well-written tale well-woven over the entire length of the short book, the suspense building throughout. An enjoyable series that I look forward to reading. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Things are getting very interesting now that certain things are happening. This certainly is a cracking series that anyone with a desire for magical happenings should definitely read. Roll on the next one. Highly recommended.

I am still very engrossed in the story and the building of new original concepts on those already introduced. The characters and their personal thoughts about what is happening and how they react to that is really great.
