This intriguing short story will interest any romantic soul who believes love is ageless. Remembering Skye, by Denise Liebig, will stretch the reader’s knowledge of Scotland and its largest island in the Inner Hebrides. The Isle of Skye is where this love story began, hundreds of years ago. Through lifelong nightmares that has hindered her whole existence, Jinny Magill seeks the help of The Dream Academy. Hypnotics and dream study of past-life regression was Dr. Conall McCrae’s specialty and what brought her to his door. Few understood his passion and work in this area of dream study, but it may just bring about the solutions she sought. Plus, the love it predestined him to find, but the only way to find these answers are to travel to Scotland.

It is evident that Denise Liebig put much research into the plot of Remembering Skye as the story unfolds. She keeps the story flowing as new developments come to light in the dreams Jinny was having, though the full contents was not revealed until the end adding mystique to the story. When they left America for Scotland I was wondering how this would affect Jinny. Her insecurities where fed by lack of sleep and fear of the unknown. At one point the reader may wonder if she will reenact the dream of jumping off the cliff. Dr. Conall McCrae's belief in her and his work was pleasantly surprising when the dreams were revealed in their entirety. I loved it all and would recommend this short read to those who enjoy historical romances.

A woman suffers nightmares from childhood and until she meets a past life regression expert, she has no way to deal with it. This is about time and memories, and love also, and I found myself utterly intrigued!

This is a short read, but intense, and the strange situation is filled with so much emotion, everything from near surrender to the will to never give up. That’s a contradiction, but a life of nightmares will do that to you, and I found myself needing to know how it would be resolved.

Beautifully written and clever, too, with surprise twists I did not see coming. I will definitely be reading more from Denise Liebig. Highly recommended!

I received this arc copy, and was so happy to read this. I just love the setting of Scotland, especially since I spent some time there this past summer. The characters are easy to connect with. The manner which this novelette was written leaves plenty to the imagination, and doesn’t rush the reader towards the ending. This was a fantastic read.

I’m in the minority here but I didn’t really find anything special with this story. I listened to the audio book and the narrator, Daniela Acitelli, really put an end to me enjoying the story.

She could not do any of the accents and over enunciated words.

I have the first two Dear Maud books but just can’t imagine listening to Daniela Acitelli for 22 hours so they will go into my dnf pile.
