27 years in the making, this is a humorous look at life on the streets of one of America's most dangerous cities. Some of his tales will seem far fetched, unless you're a cop and then you know that anything can happen - and just when you think you've seen it all, someone will surprise you.
If you want laugh out loud stories, you need to buy this book.
Sometimes you just don't want a book to end. This is one of those books. There may not be a laugh on every page, but darn close. So, Officer Cotes, thank you for your service. And thank you for your sense of humor and for sharing these stories with your readers. This is one book I'm sure I will go back and re-read in the future.
If you like humorous books you will enjoy this one...
I like a book that is well written and well edited, and I only found three mistakes in the whole book. That is excellent these days. I laughed, I cried a bit and I cringed a few times, but my favorite tale in the whole book is the one about the little boy in the restaurant. I won't give it away, just read it and see what you think.
It could have been a book of endless stories and I think I would have still enjoyed it just as much. There were a few very funny stories. VERY FUNNY! I really liked the way he ends the book....by updating everyone 's present whereabouts...even Dexter's!!
As a retired LEO I could relate to many of the stories and enjoyed the "cop humor". On the negative side, I found the choppy writing of the book distracting and spelling and grammar errors annoying such as the spelling of brake as break. The book would benefit from better proofreading and spell-checking.
I have read many books of true personal police experiences but this is the first time reading about a prankster police officer. Such fun to read so thank you Lt. Wayne Cotes!
Wonderful sense of humor! Author must have been fun to work with, despite his practical jokes. A book to lift one out of the doldrums, making you chuckle as you think of some of the stories.
If you don't like this book, you will be assigned foo patrol
As a Marine and retired LEO, I found this book brought back memories of my time behind the badge. It made me laugh a lit and cuss a little. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
I couldn’t put it down. Was a joy to read. One of those books you wish kept going.I really had a great time reading this. Have bought a copy of it and sent to my son-in-law (a police officer). Am sure he’ll love it. The author just has a nice, easy flow to his writing.
L.E.O.is a fun book to read. It is a breath of fresh air after reading other depressing or violent books. I hope the author continues to write more books like this.
