Jackson and Blackhawk were two of ten. Highly trained, highly skilled, highly dangerous operatives. Only one of the ten was a woman. Code name Indigo. She had to work twice as hard and accomplish twice as much to hold her own in that man’s world. What are the odds she would be back in their lives after all these years? And of course, it was not that simple. She couldn’t just come to visit, she had to bring the largest and deadliest sex trafficking ring in the Southwest hot on her heels. Looking for her blood. Nothing like an old friend dropping in unexpectedly to mess up your day.
I’ve been binge reading the series on Jackson/Blackhawk, and enjoyed all of the books so far. They are well crafted by Sam Lee Jackson but this is the most satisfying of the bunch.
It has a great plot line, with some interesting twists and turns that kept my interest. The characters are filled in more fully than in the first two books, which I enjoyed. It is great to get to know Jackson, Blackhawk, Nacho and Elena better and they become more three dimensional.
The action centers around a theme that came up in The Bag Lady, The Boat Bum, and the Westside King, that of prostitution rings and exploitation of women. Jackson and Blackhawk become crusaders, who tackle the bad guys head on, as usual. Boyce is, sadly in my opinion, mostly absent in this book, and only plays a bit part. I think she adds a lot, and though the new character, Indigo, is interesting, in the end she is just a female Jackson.
Sam Lee, I hope you keep them coming, and keep developing the characters.
The series continues to get better. It has everything you want in it. Lots of action, a good plot, and, the biggest strength, characters that continue to grow and develop well. They are people who you would like to know and hang out with. Just don’t get on their bad side. Rarely does a series catch my attention so well. I read the first four books in five days. Now I’m impatiently waiting for the next one. Highly recommended.
Typical good Jackson story with the full cast of characters. I can easily picture all the scenes in my mind with the details given in the writing and often wish I was there.
"There is a great gun debate in this country. My opinion is simple. Hunting and sport shooting aside, there is no need for a civilian to have an AR-15 or anything like it. It is of no purpose. It is designed to kill men. Not big game. Not rabbits. Men. I think that most men that insist on owning one are only trying for a bigger dick. You want home protection and get a shotgun." You, Sam, are an ignoramus! It would take a novella just to show how wrong you are! And when will u get it through your thick head, an AR-15 is a semi-auto,not an automatic. Same with pistols. You do this book after book. The redundancy shows me that you have no clue on firearms. And whatever happened to Deliah after book 2? And you never explain why Jackson and the PD detective never stay together. I like the characters and the series, I'm not crazy about this author, though.
This is the 4th in the series about Jackson and Blackhawk. They are two men who were in a team of elite force and were highly skilled in taking over dangerous operations. They were a team of 10 and had only one woman there, Indigo.
In this one, Jackson and Blackhawk are in a casino, helping a friend, find out what is happening to his machines. When someone robs Jackson of his billfold, and he follows her to a room and there is Indigo. They haven't seen her in years and now she is helping a couple of women she met. Knowing Jackson and Blackhawk, you know they are going to help and this time they get caught up in a sex trafficking ring.
But have they gone to far this time, as someone has targeted Blackhawk and has kidnapped Eleana! Don't miss the fireworks in this one!
Trafficking, murder, and the vices needed to control it all are forced to a screeching halt.
Constant action as the evil that controls young women in the sex slave trade will stop at nothing to enforce their will and set examples for others to fear. But the big cities ring quickly unravels when police get a little help from their friends. Great characters, plenty of surprises, and a great addition to the series. Well worth the time.
Another good book but the story follows the first 3 books template a little too much. He needs to change things up have more of elaborate story line with a less predictable ending. Another problem I had he as started passing on his ( the authors ) political point of view, I do not need or want this , it is irrelevant and also counter productive, if he pisses off 50% of votes he could loose 50% of his sales. I will read the next book in a while but I want to be intrigued and surprised !
I like this series, great characters, dialog, plot...with a twist...which is needed in this congested genre. It's a quick read, very enjoyable and I came away with a few memorable one liners.
Looking forward to the next in line. Boyce...is she is or is she aint...fun character. five more words required. Next!
Very well developed characters, good story lines. The action is well played out and believable. The entire series had been very good so far, I'm still reading the rest
