Fate and Karma ganged up on Lily Westin and made the one guy she lovingly refers to as "The World's Biggest Douche" her one true mate.

Future alpha, Thomas, has always had a crush on Lily. He has no idea why she hates him so much but he is determined to talk through it and prove to her that he is not the world's biggest douche. I loved that he was very mature and had serious alpha vibes. Thomas gets 5 stars for how he ended things in his current relationship with Sydney. I love a mature man.

Totally enjoyed these two and I'm so glad Lily didn't run for as long as Elise did with Patrick. So glad to finally get some info on Cole Anderson's back story. Can't wait to read his book!!!

2.5 Somewhat Impassive Stars

Lily Westin has waited her entire life to find her one true mate, but when she does and it’s the guy she has labelled for years as the biggest douchebag around she’s more than a little shocked. Thomas Collier is future Alpha of the Collier Pack, his never given any real thought to his true mate and who she may be, and was getting ready to mate someone else before the sister he lost reappeared, but when he catches the scent of the one woman he is destined to be with everything changes. Now he must convince her that he’s not the man she thinks he is.

I’ve read 3 of the books at the start of the series so thought I would see how this one was, but honestly it was just disappointing. At times the writing felt a little clunky and having a hero

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I just knew that Lily’s mating wouldn’t be smooth sailing due to all the sh*t she gave her siblings about delaying their bonding. I found it hilarious that her true mate was none other than Thomas Collier, who she called the biggest do*chebag on the planet. She needed someone to blame when her best friend and Thomas’s sister Maddie went missing when she was 16 years old and whenever she’d travel to the Collier pack for Maddie’s vigil, Thomas was never there for his family and rumours were being spread that he was sleeping around while his family needed him but really he was full of guilt and anger as he knew Maddie snuck out and didn’t tell anyone and then when Maddie never came home it was too much for his young mind to process. When Maddie disappeared his life changed drastically and his mum became way overbearing and that she was freaked out that something was going to happen to him as well, she even pulled him out of school for a year and home schooled him until his dad let him go back for his senior year but under really tight rules.

I loved the connection between Thomas and Lily and thought that they’re perfect for each other and loved seeing their relationship strengthen throughout the book. It was cool how Lily and Thomas both spoke to Jessie, Sydney’s sister who put in her challenge to fight Lily as she was doing it for her sister Sydney and didn’t realise that she’d have to mate with Thomas if she won and then Sydney would have to fight Jessie to become Pack Mother. It showed how great they’re both going to be in their new roles as Alpha and Pack Mother of the Collier Pack. I loved Sydney and Lily’s friendship considering Sydney was Thomas’s compatible mate before Lily showed up so it just goes to show what amazing people they both are as there was no jealously which is great. I also thought it was awesome how Thomas went to Sydney and told her face to face that they won’t be mating as he’s met his true mate, It shows how he’s a good person and that he didn’t want to hurt her by her having to find out from the gossips. I’m really looking forward to reading Cole’s book next after hearing what he told Lily in their heart to heart that his true mate rejected him. I’d recommend this book, series, Westin World Universe and author to everyone.

Never Say Never.....

We come to the end of the great Westin Pack series and it's full of what ifs.

Lily Westin has seen all her siblings find their true mates and her BFF in her twin Liam, she couldn't be happier. Lily has always longed to find hers and she is so ready for him. When she catches a whiff of him in Collier she is over the moon, finally! But when that gorgeous scented hunk turns around, she makes a very quick and hasty retreat.... God wouldn't punish her so, would he, she's never done anything to piss him off? Thomas Collier aka DOUCHE BAG, seriously her BFF's brother who she hates with all her being?????

Thomas Collier always harbored resentments toward his sister MC when she disappeared when he was only 14, but now she's back home and everyone is expecting him to disappear like he always had before, but when he realizes that his true mate is near he turns to a very surprised and angry Lily. My God he always had a crush on his sister's best friend since he can remember, but to see her hate now is shocking to him to say the least, how can his true mate be someone that hates him so?

Will Lily see Thomas for who he really is, or will her self imposed hatred of him cloud her judgement and doom them to a loveless life?

This story was alright, but not as good as books 3 and 4. There’s a lot of unresolved storyline ( especially regarding the humans) that I assume jumps over to the Collier pack stories. I don’t like when major story arcs aren’t resolved within a series. I’m okay with a spin-off series, but the main plot of the series shouldn’t just completely jump ship to the spin-off without some form of resolution. I also was not a fan of the 10 yr later epilogue (I never am) especially with ongoing storylines for the ‘present’ day. I think that would have been better suited for maybe a novella or a spin-off series about the next generation (maybe starting with Oscar).

This book wasn't my favorite installment of the series. I will admit it was probably me and not the book. Much of my discontentment has to do with the fact that the hero and heroine end up in Alaska for a short time. Thomas is sent to Alaska to help with a problem there and he brings Lily with him. While Alaska does technically have polar bears, their habitat is extremely small and difficult to get to. I realize it is a book of fiction, but it still annoyed me. If the author substituted brown bears for polar bears I would have probably enjoyed the book much more.

If you enjoyed the other books in this series you will probably enjoy this one too.

Uugghh really 😤

Liked it better then the last one. She has a good writing style and even when I don’t like the characters or how the storyline goes, I always enjoy her writing.
I’ve liked Lily from the first book. She is super strong, independent and knows herself. I liked Thomas also, at least misty.
Again, my biggest issue is the male lead who basically sleeps around and is super casual about sex who ends up with the naive and very inexperienced virgin.
It made even less sense her given Lily’s personality and strong independent streak and especially given her strong sexual identity in the past books. Add her age and it just didn’t work at all and irritated 😤 me.

I think I finally figured out what has been bothering me about the last three books in this series: the relationship issues were solved too quickly -- as in not even halfway through the book. With their issues being addressed and resolved so easily, I feel like they are not staying true to their characters. The second half of the book was all related to external conflict and the subplot. At first I really like the subplot in the series, but it's not much a subplot anymore because it gained too much boring explaining time (pages that I admittedly skimmed and skipped over).

Disappointed -Angry At The Ending

I guess the storyline is good. It was the ending with Oscar, Liam, Jack and MC that insures I won't rush to read anymore of Julie Trettel's books.

This is gonna be a rolling review-

Chapter 1 Lily- God is great and perfect...🤢🤮

Chapter 2 Thomas- my sister really messed up my life by getting gang rped. I'm not ready to forgive her for "abandoning" her family, yeah I know something really bad happened to her but it wasn't as bad as having over protective parents. But I just met my true mate who I've known since childhood

Chapter 3- Lilly meets Thomas' current girlfriend and despite hating Thomas and running from him, she's desperate to claim him and is jealous of the current GF

Chapter 4- Lily is drunk, ends up in bed with Thomas, she's naked, Thomas realizes and does he act appropriately? NOPE. the phrase "red blooded American male" was just used and 🤮🤢

Chapter 5- why is Thomas being nice to me...😒🙄

Chapter 6- apparently Thomas is a notorious cheater and womanizer, but the current girlfriend who he's breaking up with again tells him he's a great guy and any woman who doesn't want him is stupid

Chapter 7- Lily who hates Thomas describes herself as a "chickenshit" for running away. Can we please let this message just go away.

"God doesn't make mistakes" again🤢🤮

Chapter 8- the theme is Lily will come around. How could the woman who says she hates me just leave?

Not only do I have to deal with Lily leaving, but I still gotta deal with resenting my sister.

Would.the girl I just broke up with...again...take me back if Lily rejects me?😒🙄

Gotta call Westin Pack Alpha who is Lily's brother to get permission to go get my mate back on her lands. Of course big brother laughs at the "irony" of his little sister running from her true mate and gives Thomas permission. YIKES

Chapter 9- "you were the hottest girl at camp", HE HASN'TSEEN HER SINCE SHE WAS 12 AND HE WAS 11. I think I'm done with this series. It just keeps getting worse.

A Thoroughly entertaining audiobook once again narrated by Carly Robins and Joe Hempel.
I really love these Voice actors and they have brought so much quality to this story.
Can't Be Love is Lily Westin and Thomas Collier's romance I think this is an enemies to lovers story also best friends brother.Because Thomas is Lily's best friend Maddie's younger brother and Lily does not like him calling him The worlds biggest DOUCHEBAG,.!!
The reason for the distaste for Thomas was that when Maddie went missing and the family used to hold a Vigil for her every year,Thomas never attended. There were rumours of him sleeping around and partying instead of being there for his family.
But this was far from the truth Thomas was hurting and could not go to the Vigil's because it was too painful.
So Lily had this misunderstood bad view of Thomas..Visiting the Collier pack it comes to light that Thomas is her one true mate. The one person she hates is her mate and Lily is in dispair...Thomas on the other hand is happy Lily is his One true mate,it is odd fo him to feel this way about Lily because he only really does casual relationships.
Thomas has 1 week to prove he is not the douchebag that Lily thinks he is and convince her they are a perfect match.
I really like this story it was romantic, emotional and funny too,Lily is such a strong independent woman but when it came to Thomas she was a nervous wreck and runs from him.
Thomas is not a Douchebag at all he is quite romantic and caring and he will be Alpha one day to the Collier pack.
There is a twist of a story in this book too and it was exciting,I am liking Julie Trettel's writing style and I have completely enjoyed listening to this book and the whole series.
Loved it.

I literally love these narrators, I would love to meet them. That being said, this was not my favorite Westin pack novel. I honestly would of liked this better if Cole HAD been Lily's true mate. I was actually loving the crush vibe between her and him in the prior novels and thought it was going to happen. But whatever...I understand why the author made it Thomas, but it doesnt mean I have to like it.

I think Liam and Mady's story was the best out of all the novels. They just had this intensity and rawness...why do I think the epilogue was the best thing about Lily's book? I just felt like she was a hypocritc, she spent the last 4 novels saying she would love her true mate instantly then homegirls goes and ding dong ditches. Bleh.

I actually liked Sydney a bit more, tbh...she was very polite and kind and compassionate...**sighs**.

Thomas was alright. Nothing to really brag home about. He was just a guy who wanted his mate and showed her how much she should want him as a mate. ANd he got a protective vibe going on, thats always a panty dropper. But eh..I wasnt that caught up with him.

It was a cute story I guess. But I think the author could have made it longer and elaborated more on some of the prime tensions in the story, such as their time in alaska and the pack challenges. it was too quick, and I would of loved more tension and angst. But maybe she was tired by this novel and wanted to just wrap it up. Who knows.

Overall, I will still listen to anything free on audible this woman has because I am lowkey addicted.

Omg! She's done it once again :D "Can't Be Love" is the 5th amazing novel from the Westin Pack series, but these do not have to be read in order. However, IMO, for the best reading pleasure, you should & I am so glad that I have! Each one of these fan-freaking-tastic must reads should be 6 stars, IMHO ;) ... This author has such a fresh new take on PNR shifters that is so awesomely unique that I'd like to move in with the Westin Pack :D The characters are well-defined and relatable both new & recurring :D Amazing descriptions and witty dialogue had me laughing out loud at times, but also brought me to tears, yet wanting to scream out loud at other times with this edge of your seat roller-coaster ride! From the beginning to the end, I did not want to put this riveting book down whenever I had to! ... Even tho I volunteered to beta read this, it was without any outside influence & I preordered my own kindle book weeks ago to keep forever in my favorites! So yes, I honestly do recommend this to adult fans of fiction and especially those who love contemporary romantic PNR like I do :D I am so hooked & can't wait for more, but of course I will ;)

As heir, Thomas Collier knew one day he’d be pack alpha and like all the male pups in five packs dreamed of Lily Westin daughter of Westin pack alpha, he could only hope his mate would be Lily Westin! It’s great that as an alpha’s daughter, Lily knew a bit about alpha life, But, if necessary, Thomas will settle for a companion mate instead of his true mate.

Lily’s been anxiously waiting and hoping for the day she’d meet her true mate, especially now that all her siblings have met theirs and unlike them, she wouldn’t fight fate or the pairing. That’s what Lily thought until fate paired her with the last person, she expected… her best friend’s younger brother, Thomas! The one that followed them around, he was a baby!

Thomas does have a little bit of fight on his hands but Lily doesn’t fight long. Almost as soon as the mating begins, Thomas gets an alpha duty and the pair are off to Alaska where there’s a severe storm, a kidnapping and a few secrets are shared as this series wraps and another begins. Bring on the challenges!

Thomas Collier, the Collier pack future Alpha and Lily Westin find out they’re true mates. But Lily thinks Thomas is a douche due to the way he handled Maddie’s disappearance and Thomas had more or less settles on a compatible mate: Sydney. Fortunately Sidney is understanding of the situation, but Lily’s not. When she run home to hide, Thomas follows her and both packs watch the fun.

I definitely felt the connection between Thomas and Lily. They’re great together. But the story is very mild. After all the buildup, I wish the action (denial, kidnapping and challenges) had been a little more exciting and not resolved so quickly. Definitely a shifter romance with a soft background storyline.

Footnote: 1) I love how the POV changes with the chapters. Makes it very easy to follow the story while still getting to see both sides.

Fave scenes: Lily’s shopping trip at Sidney’s, the snoring argument, Oscar waking up lily, the snowball fight and the six-pack practice fights.

Lily Westin has been hoping to find her one true mate all her life. She finally finds him only to discover he the last man she would want as her true mate. Thomas Collier is the brother of her best friend Madelyn Collier who went missing years ago. Lily goes to the Collier pack every year for the vigil held for Madelyn but Thomas is never there. As the years go by Lily begins to focus all her anger on Thomas for not being there for his family when they need him the most. Will Lily and Thomas be able to get past their own preconceived ideas about the other so they can have a future together or will they break the bond and go their separate ways? I love this book, the story is original and the characters are amazing.

Good end to the series!

This instalment is about Lily Westin meeting her one true mate Thomas Collier who is the brother of maddie in book 3. Lily not too happy about who it is tries to run away from Thomas because of how he dealt with his sister being missing and presumed dead. Lily saw it as not being supportive to his family. Thomas on the other hand is quite chuffed that his one true mate is no other but his sister's best friend Lily Westin.
Both Thomas and Lily have a lot to over come and sort out if this mating is to work.
Personally for me I think this one is the best book so far !

Another great book

This was a great ending to the Westin pack series & beginning to the Collier pack series. I can’t wait to start that next.
Lily is such a hoot. I love her independence and fun loving attitude of life. Love that she says what she thinks and has issues with filter. Thomas is perfect for her. They are sweet together (after the initial hiccup). The action was cool also.
My favorite scene was when they were texting Maddie. I chuckled out loud - it was so funny. Lots of fun witty banter in this book. No angst. I can see me reading it again. I recommend this book and this series.

Julie Tettrel's "Can't Be Love" delivers a sweet and familiar enemies-to-lovers romance.

While the story treads well-worn romance paths with predictable obstacles, Tettrel excels at crafting engaging dialogue and exploring the characters' emotional baggage, making their journey to love feel earned.

If you're seeking a comforting and heartwarming escape with a classic romance formula, "Can't Be Love" is a pleasant and enjoyable read.

Just don't expect groundbreaking originality – it's a comforting dance to a familiar, but still satisfying, tune.

Good for fans of: classic contemporary romance and enemies-to-lovers tropes

I knew Lily would find a challenge when knowing her mate because she was so confident... and destiny it's never easy. Thomas Collier is the brother of her best friend and she hates him. She runs, he chases and she has to learn who he actually is.

My problem was that there was so many storylines. A problem to be solved, then another, then another, etc. And somehow it feels like nothing was actually important. It's frustrating that the main challenge was... unsurprisingly, a law of this outdated and sexist world. [Liam is the only one that have shouted the unbelievable situation it is, tho].

I enjoyed it, just felt... eh.

As always, the Westin Pack series delivered! Lily's story was highly anticipated and did not disappoint. Lily was the last to find her True Mate and had waited her whole life to find him. The "chase" was quick which I appreciated so the book could have another storyline rather than just being about the "chase" to either catch or avoid the True Mate. While I'm sad to see the Westin series come to a close, I am very excited to see what's next with Collier Pack and maybe even Chad? :-)
Thanks for Julie for the great reading! Can't wait to see what's next!

All tied up

I've completed the Westin journey. Overall I enjoyed this series. Though it's all within one family I like that the characters personalities were unique. They never felt redundant or over used. Lily's story was more tame then some of the others but also had elements of surprise. I thought Thomas was a little bland as the story went on. When we first meet him he leaves a strong, fierce, mysterious impression and then all that anticipation just kind of fizzles out. Other then that it was a good story and I like that we are not left with loose ends. You receive closure on our Westin family.

Last book of Pack Westin

So, this is the end, but there's still some more for Collier, ARC, and the force teams.

I have really enjoyed these books. I like how there's heat, but not an abundant amount that fills half the pages, a great back story, and a new view of how shifters came to be. The whole idea of the ark is fascinating and I'm very interested in leaning more of the lore.

I highly recommend this series for those not quite ready to read adult books with romance. This is just a smidge more than YA.

Great Series Conclusion

lily and Thomas made a great couple for the final book in the series. She pushed all the anger and grief she felt about Maddie’s disappearance on Maddie’s brother Thomas and now, she finds out he is her true mate. Luckily Thomas pursues her and she finds out his side of the story and why he couldn’t face the memorials for Maddie each year. The Vendari sub group is involved again but they are quickly taken out. The bonus epilogue takes us 10 years into the future and we catch up with the Westin sibling.

Man this one was so slow in my opinion, and the ex girlfriend immediately becoming best friends with the guy she was in love with and dating on & off for 10 years new Mate is just so far fetched. It would take time coming to terms with him dropping that bombshell!

Then the quick kidnapping & everything just falling into place so perfectly just fell flat.

Not to mention the amount of times they repeatedly talked about god i started to cringe, it didn’t mix well with a shifter series in my opinion.

I think this was by far the easiest feeling book, I wasn’t stressing because both the main characters were stressing. I love that Lily was a little upset but got over it quickly and then was open minded, that I truly enjoyed, same with Thomas being honest and taking care of his crap so he was ready for Lily. I also loved that Thomas and Lily had their storyline overlap with the Vendari and continued that storyline and that it started the storyline for the Collier Pack series. DEFIANTLY READ IMPORTANT TO OVERALL STORY!

A roller-coaster ride of emotions as Lilly, the youngest sister of the Westin Pack kids finds herself face-to-face with her One True Mate. Everything she dreamed about is tossed into the air and it all leaves her doubting the long-held belief that your One True Mate is nirvana. A very funny story that will leave you gasping at times and laughing at others. Well written and played out. A fine final edition to the series.

Wow Lily’s story was amazing, and getting to know Thomas was great, considering Lily names him douchebag throughout the series. What will happen when these true mates meet? Loved this finale to this series, great story, plot, characters. Really enjoyed the angst but this read had so many loving sweet moments along with hot sexy scenes. Can’t wait to see how things move on in the Collier pack series. Highly recommend
