Christy Barritt is an author, freelance writer and speaker who lives in Virginia. She’s married to her Prince Charming, a man who thinks she’s hilarious—but only when she’s not trying to be. Christy’s a self-proclaimed klutz, an avid music lover who’s known for spontaneously bursting into song, and a road trip aficionado. She’s only won one contest in her life—and her prize was kissing a pig (okay, okay… actually she did win the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Suspense and Mystery also). Her current claim to fame is showing off her mother, who looks just like former First Lady Barbara Bush
When she’s not working or spending time with her family, she enjoys singing, playing the guitar, and exploring small, unsuspecting towns where people have no idea how accident prone she is.

You know an author is truly successful when readers have an internal countdown until they can read the latest book. This is definitely the case with fans of Christy Barritt. Her characters tend to leap off the pages and you are drawn into the plot from sentence one. Storm of Doubt is no exception.

In another spinoff of the Lantern Beach series, we meet two new characters to add to the quirky yet lovable community. Both Jack and Juliette are broken, grieving and in need. In this idyllic setting, danger again returns to the shore as the duo seeks answers, faith and rescue.

I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.

"These should be some of the best days of her life, during the most wonderful season of the year - Christmas. "

But she has her doubts, especially after narrowly escaping a crazed stalker who managed to inflict a pretty serious wound. Thank goodness someone heard her scream.

That someone was Jack Wilson, whose nocturnal walk that evening turned him into a veritable hero. Pleading with him to stay with her all the way to the hospital, Juliette Grace was just glad to be alive; her plan to tuck herself away on Lantern Beach, away from the eyes and ears of the shadow who meant her harm, shattering into a million pieces.

Leave it up to Christy Barritt to write a great story about a "romance writer who's lost faith in love", and a "pastor who's lost faith in God" in such a way that reduces doubt, introduces hope and spreads "peace on earth, good will towards men".

I love me some Lantern Beach stories!! Storm of Doubt is the last installment in the Lantern Beach Romantic Suspense series and this one focuses on Pastor Jack. The story begins with him coming to the aid of a damsel in distress. Juliette has come to Lantern Beach to escape a man who has been stalking her. She thinks she can hide out in Lantern Beach, but he finds her there. Jack, Cassidy, Ty, and the rest of the Lantern Beach crew work together to protect Juliette as they search for her stalker. Jack and Juliette's relationship appears to be developing into something romantic, but can they both move beyond past hurts and doubts? You'll have to read to find out!

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

STORM OF DOUBT is the third book in the romantic suspense series of Lantern Beach. Previous characters are revisited, but this is the story of Jack and Juliette.

Someone is stalking Juliette, but she doesn't know who -- or how he is keeping track of her moments. Somehow, whoever it was even followed her from Atlanta Georgia to a remote island off the shore of North Carolina.

She isn't there very long when someone stabs her -- and Jack comes to her rescue. But things are not as cut and dried as they seem and whodunit may not be obvious. You'll have to keep reading this page-turner.

I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.

Uuuu... what can I say about this one?!

I have to start by saying that this one was my favorite so far. I was amazed by the faith content. I guess that since the story involves a Pastor, the faith content was meant to stand out. I also love how the book started. There was no long intro. The author just kicks you right into the action of the story and I was hooked since the beginning. Plus, [bonus points for this story] the plot twist at the end caught me off guard. I was definitely not expecting the stalker to be that character. I really like when the authors keep me guessing and also when they prove my theories or suspicions wrong.😬

Because of all the things I loved about this book, I thought about giving it a higher score than just 4 stars, but the ending kind of took those point away. As much as I love happy endings or endings the seemed surreal or fairytale-ish like... I still thought that the relationship was rushed at the end. (If you read the book, you'll see what I mean) 🤷🏻‍♀️

Now, that I am finish with this bundle, I am actually considering buying the next one to continue the series. We'll see how it goes. Looking forward to more Lantern Beach Romantic Suspense.

Toodles and blessings ⚘️

“God never called His people to be happy. Instead, He told them they’d face troubles but to find joy in the middle of those storms. God never called his people to worry about their needs being met. He told them He would meet their needs and to go meet the needs of others.”

“People wanted to think that following Jesus meant life would somehow be more blessed—and it was. But not in a worldly sense. The rain still came, bringing with it the seasons of sorrow. God was there to walk believers through those times.”

This was a good romantic suspense book but was pretty light on the mystery part. The third book in the Lantern Beach Romantic Suspense series and I guessed the villains in all 3! But this one did have a few really nice twists along the way to make me think a few times I was wrong...but in the end I was right. And speaking of the ending, it did get pretty mushy and over the top; but maybe you’re into that! I liked that it took place during Christmas. And I guess Wes is not finding true love in Lantern Beach any time soon. Well, onto the Lantern Beach PD series!

Nothing says Happy Holidays like a Christmas stalker! Bwahahaha!

This is the third book in the Lantern Beach Romantic Suspense series and the third (and last) book in the box set I bought on audible. There are three more books in this series and I'll definitely be continuing with the series in the New Year. Loved that there were two narrators -- Sean Patrick Hopkins and Patricia Santomasso -- did an excellent job of creating the tense atmosphere of the suspense along with bringing these characters to life.

I had no idea that this book would feature Christmas so that was a happy accident and I really liked the way the author managed to weave in the holiday with all the action and suspense. This one was shorter than the first two books in the series -- maybe it came out as a holiday novella? -- Anyway, I just felt both the suspense and the romance were rushed compared to the author's other books but I still really enjoyed it.

The newest book in the Lantern Beach series grabs your attention in the first sentence and keeps it throughout the entire book! You do not need to have read any of the other books to enjoy this story but for those of us that have read this series, you get to "visit some old friends". This was a story that I didn't want to put down. The main characters are Pastor Jack Wilson and writer Juliette Grace. Both of them are living with doubts (Storm of Doubt) but are brought together when a stalker attacks Juliette and Jack comes to her rescue. As they and Jack's friends try to discover the stalker's identity and keep Juliette safe, Jack and Juliette begin to learn more about each other - and themselves. And just when they begin to feel safe, an unexpected twist shows up! If you like suspense stories, this one is for you!

I wasn’t really into this story. Maybe it’s because Juliette was divorced—and I personally believe that Biblically, even if there is a “good reason for divorce,” it’s not what God approves. So I had a hard time enjoying a love story between a divorced person and a pastor.

And then, I’m a pastor’s daughter, so maybe I was a bit to critical reading a story about a pastor. There seemed to be an effort to where he alluded to Scripture, but he didn’t really seem a student of the Scripture. The question, “What does your guy say?” shouldn’t be a part of a conversation if God really is real.

I do feel bad not being able to speak more positively about this story. I just wasn’t digging it.

The mystery was okay. Kind of creepy, because it was about a stalker. But I didn’t figure the bad guy. So that was a plus.

Sweet story, but

I am all for a quick romance. However, this story was not one of the author's best. It seems like she was rushed to get it done, and the normal depth of her characters was missing. We barely get to know Jack and his background. Juliet is even more vague, her physical description is missing other than the fact she is beautiful. It would have been nice to have some interaction with the other friends of Lantern Beach. What was on the minds of the congregation when the Pastor don't show up? How was Cassidy at the right place at the right time? Were they looking for Jack and Juliet? What about the condition of the car that rammed them. Basically, I am saying that this story had potential of being great instead of just good.

Pastor Jack Wilson has an effective ministry at Lantern Beach and has made good friends, but he still feels lost after the death of his wife two years earlier. After he rescues novelist Juliette Grace, his life gets entwined with hers as he tries to help protect her from a stalker. Who could be trying to turn her successful life into a tragedy? The rest of the gang comes alongside to assist, of course. This novella, set at Christmastime, is a welcome addition to the growing tales of this lovely locale. As usual, Christy Barritt piles up the suspense and intrigue. I enjoyed the exciting story. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.

Storm of Doubt was another great mystery set in the town of Lantern Beach. It takes place during Christmastime and is focused on Pastor Jack and Juliette, an author who's being stalked by a mysterious man.

My goodness, what an unputdownable story! The action and suspense started at the very beginning and never let up. There was hardly a moment to take a breath.

Christy Barritt never disappoints and Storm of Doubt was another exciting read from her. Time flew by while I was in the midst of this mystery. I read it really fast and finished it in less than a day. I highly recommend this series!

Storm of Doubt by Christy Barritt brings readers back to the familiar Lantern Beach island. Filled with characters from the previous books, fans will be delighted to catch up with their lives. This time around the story features Jack, the pastor. From the first chapter, the tension is in high gear, and Barritt doesn't let up. Since it is a novella, the story moves pretty quickly. The romance happens pretty quick. The resolution to the crime occurs before I knew it. Storm of Doubt is a good addition to the series. I highly recommend it.

Return to Lantern Beach for romantic suspense...
Mystery, suspense and romance in my favourite Lantern Beach setting. Pastor Jack finally gets his happy ending, but at what cost? Romance writer, Juliette comes to Lantern Beach to escape her stalker. When Jack steps into rescue her, they both share struggles in their faith. A lovely story of finding faith in the midst of the Christmas season. It was fun seeing all the gang come back together, too! Love this series and the Christmas story was beautiful with all the feels.

Jack, Lantern Beach's pastor, is walking late one night when he heard a woman's scream. He goes to investigate and sees a man holding a knife over a woman on the ground. He scares off the attacker and takes her to the hospital. Juliette has been stalked by an unknown man for months and came to Lantern Beach to get away but was followed. Can they find the attacker before he succeeds in killing Juliette?

An intriguing story that takes place during the Christmas season. A good addition to the Lantern Beach series.

Juliette runs to Lantern Beach to escape a stalker, but rights straight into danger. Pastor Jack, out for a lonely, late-night walk, comes to her rescue and just can't get her out of his mind. This installment of the Lantern Beach Romantic Suspense Series explores the feelings of a pastor who is having doubts about Gods love for him after the death of his wife. For some reason, I wasn't quite as invested in Pastor Jack's story as I was in some of the other characters in this series, but I still enjoyed the book.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.

Storm of Doubt

Julliette comes to Lantern Beach to escape a stalker, only to meet him on a dark beach her first night on the island. She is stabbed, but before her stalker can finish the job, a rescuer happens by and scares the attacker away. Jack is the local preacher. In a 36 hour period several scary attempts on Julliette's life ate made, and Jack is always on hand to save her. Sparks fly. This is the third of a series. Great for a quick, entertaining read.

Shallow and repetitive

I love Lantern Beach and have come to love each of the characters over the series. While all of the supporting characters' books fall more on the side of fluff, this one was a bit ridiculous. And more than once I saw exact lines I've seen in other books. There is no depth to either of the main characters, and even Cassidy seems one-dimensional.
It wasn't so awful I couldn't finish it, but it's definitely best to have appropriate expectations.

Amazing suspense!

Amazingly Dramatic and suspense filled sweet romance between two people who have had their share of heartache and sorrow. This story starts off fast paced and full of action. I enjoyed reading this amazing story that was clean and the author knows how to create a truly inspirational experience for the readers. The characters were interesting and the struggles that they faced fired the imagination of the reader.

Juliette and Jack gives us in depth look at her and having a stalker, he is faceless and nameless, and very real for her. He is a pastor, he has seen the effect of war, and now a small community that is consuming, something they didn’t teach in seminary. A chance meeting at the dead of night, begins a roller coaster of events, will they live through, to find the happy every after for them . Well done.

A suspense filled Christmas story!

Christmas is supposed to be a time of joy, not terror! Pastor Jack feels like he is losing faith in God, and romance writer Juliette Grace feels as though she has lost faith in love. When a deadly attack brings them together, finding their faith again may be the only thing that can rescue them.

Another great story in this series, with an added bonus of a Christmas setting on Lantern Beach. I highly recommend this story!

Stalking romance

Christy Barritt 's books never disappoint! Storm of Doubt has it all: men and women you'd love to get to know, an exciting story on the edge of danger, sweet romance and spiritual lessons that nudge you into a thoughtful assessment of your faith. A lot of twists and turns to get to Christmas at Lantern Beach!

Great suspense with a fantastic ending!

The Lantern Beach stories have all been brilliant and this one is just as good as the earlier ones. An engaging combination of suspense and romance in a fascinating location. The ending was quite a twist at the end and a truly happy conclusion. I hope there will be more books in the Lantern Beach series.

I loved this sweet novella. Jacks doesn’t make a huge appearance in the other books but I loved that he got his own story and he and Juliet are perfect for each other. I had my guess on the stalker and actually got it wrong this time which is awesome because a predictable book isn’t as enjoyable to read. I love Lantern Beach. I can’t wait for more from this little town.

Good Book

This book started out with a bang and kept it up to the end. The crisis of faith that the Pastor was going through was sad, made me realize the loneliness of Pastors. Some twists, I thought I had the stalker figured out till the very end when the true stalker was revealed. The Pastor's recovery from his crisis of with was inspiring.

I really enjoyed the Lantern Beach Mysteries and was delighted to learn that the supporting cast were going to get their own stories.

Sadly, I didn't enjoy #1. I did enjoy #2. This one I've given up on. So with that pattern, I'm really hoping I enjoy Will's story in #4 when it eventually releases.

Storms Aplenty

Christy Barrett wrote another thriller full of romantic moments, but laced with lots of pain along the way. She earned five stars for this twisted but brilliant story written during the Christmas season. Her main characters were a romance writer name Jullitte, a preacher named Jack, and a psycho named the Watcher. Great Writing, Christy!

Romance/suspense

This third book in the series was a good read. The story is about the town pastor, Jack and a writer, Juliette who has come to town to escape a stalker. Trouble has followed her to town. Jack and the rest of his friends from the previous books step in to help her. This is a romance/suspense with a happy ending.
