Never fall in love with a man in a photo. Especially, if he's dead...
Balanced on the knife-edge edge of going feral, chimera Ethan Wade has no idea what he is. All the former Navy SEAL turned maritime treasure hunter knows is his explosive temper has destroyed his life, driving him to an isolated rental house in Western, NY, to lick his wounds. When a molotov cocktail of rage and alcohol triggers an uncontrolled shift, he is caught between shapes.
Disembodied, he can only come to one conclusion: He's died and become a ghost.
Blowing the whistle lost lawyer Devon Daughtry her boyfriend, (not too much of a loss), her job, (a bit worse) and with the rents in Manhattan, a primo apartment (the straw that broke the camel's back).
Now she's run home to Cassadaga determined to re-build her life by hanging out her shingle as a psychic medium.
When she discovers a photograph of Ethan while moving in, she's crushed to discover the man whose lonely eyes strike a chord deep within her soul is missing and presumed dead. Soon, she begins having passionate dreams about him. Dreams that Ethan shares.
But Ethan isn't the only being in the house. A demonic presence has followed her home and it has diabolical plans for both of them.
I picked up my first Harlequin presents at age 11 and proceeded to voraciously read every kind of Romance under the sun, but fell in love with the wild side, Scence Fiction Romance, Paranormal Romance, and Fantasy Romance. After getting my degree in English as a Writing Art at SUNY Oswego and a Masters in Library Science at the University of Buffalo, I worked as a school librarian for five years in Webster, NY, before chasing my dream of publication. I live with my family and two dogs( a basenji and a vizsla) in Columbus, Ohio.
I always have a hard time deciding if I like dragon shifters or cat shifters best and here I have the best of both worlds. Chimeras are both dragon AND lion shifters. Yum. You know what else I really like? Alpha guy heros who are virgins (Yes, I know that is a mythical creature in real life and probably in no way as cool as it sounds in books.)Navy SEALs and broody men who were abused little boys. Apparently this author went into my fantasies, rolled them all together and created Ethan. Ex SEAL, virgin, broody/abused, chimera shifter. *sigh* (thank you author.....thank you!)
This is the second book in this series but could be read as a stand alone. You see the characters from book one here but the plot separate enough that you would have no trouble following it. The heroine has recently moved into Ethan's old home, the home he disappeared from. Everyone thinks he's dead and she thinks his spirit in the home. Despite that she begins falling for him.
I'm not going to talk more of the plot as the blurb explains that. I will say that I enjoyed the book. It moved along at a nice pace and was a nice change from traditional shifter books. Both MC's were likable and it was nice to see the characters from book one have big roles in this story. I would have liked to see a bit more development between the hero and heroine. Most of the book focused on the events taking place around them. They were destined mates so that bond was a given but I still would have liked to see them fall for each other a little more. Overall though.....a good, fun read.

This was book 2 and was a good sequel to the first in this new series by Karin Shah. I liked how much she included the couple and secondary people from the first book showing how they've grown and fit in with the new story. The book was decently different so I didn't feel like I was reading a formulaic story with replaceable characters.
This could have been a 4 star read but had some issues. I liked the premise and the beginning was good. I can tell the author can write but just not 100 percent for me. It was confusing with him being "dead" in a phase of shift of some sort. I couldn't tell what was dream or vision. Then it just went way to fast in too many directions. I got whiplash trying to read this, so much was happening and pilling on and on. When they are getting to know each other in the dreams it was sweet but then they barely get ANY time together in the real world but yet fall in love? Both of them have been burned in the past, and he has never felt loved before, but there were so many misunderstood feelings getting hurt here. Every time something happened the other assumed the worst and was crush and reacting badly.

Geez for a minute there I thought Ethan was really a ghost, but then I remembered Anjali had done a disappearing act when she was locked up so Ethan was just stuck in between. I'm glad he got his happily ever after. I wish Devon had put Colleen in her place, she is so tacky.

3.5stars
Entity Mine follows Ethan Wade, one of the Chimera siblings who does not know his origins or his legacy. ethan is doubting his sanity as his rage and needs are off limits.he feels the beast inside him but since he cannot explain why he feels that way,he considers himself as crazy.this fact pushed him to quit his job and isolate himself. when one day,his ex co-workers arrive asking him to return,he refuses their offer because he thinks he's a threat.of course, his denial seemed to his friends cruel and selfish, but what could ethan possibly do?he couldn't explain something he himself didn't understand and after they leave, somehow, someway ethan founds himself dead.he has no clue whatsoever how he died. in this new status, ethan wanders around his house as a ghost for three whole months.then a new tenant arrives.Devon Daughtry, Psychic Medium for hire who cursed her gift is the one who finds Ethan's belongings and feels a strange connection with him.she grieves and feels sad for a person she never met.obviously as we learnt from In Like a Lion that equals to mate.equals to shotgun pregnancy.equals i love you=hea
“There you go, handsome,” she said, polishing the glass over his face with a soft cloth. “Now we can keep each other company.”
is Ethan really dead?and why devon cannot see him?what is the demonic presence that lurks in beth's house?who the hell is bill?what happened to anjali and jake?what happens to kyle? read the book and you will find out. with fast pace, interesing plotline and character developping, virgin alpha males and kickass heroines mixed with amazing ideas and setting Karin Shah has definately caught my interest and my curiosity.entertaining, smutty shapeshifting paranormal romance read i am really curious how this series will continue. which brother is next?
I found Karin Shah’s In Like Lion by accident read it loved it, so when I got the chance to read her second book in the series Entity Mine, was all over it. This is one of my fav genre’s as well.
Lion’s and Dragon’s have always been my favorite shifter animal, a Chimera is both. This story a chimera has no clue what he is, all the years growing up he faced being alone mostly because others were afraid of him. He was huge, quick and exceptional Ethan just didnt know why.
Devon I loved her quirky sassiness, she was just alot of fun. I cant even imagine growing up being a medium especially with a family that wasn’t so believing. Her social life as well as career just took a bit hit and its time to move on. Maybe even do a bit more dabbling in spiritual side of herself.
Pretty awesome second book! It was long I faded in a couple paragraphs but it picked up again and read right on through. I loved Ethan and Devon. Enjoy
A very very nice read ! First, Ethan is a amazing : he's not a man-whore . Devon is a strong woman who's not afraid to fight for what she wants. The story is paranormal but easy to follow and nicely told. I really want to know what's going to happen to Kyle and the missing brothers, plus John who's quite mysterious and whose story is likely a twisted one.
Some minor quibbles re: WB but overall, really enjoyed this PNR! Can definitely be read as stand-alone but as w/ any book in series, there are references to events from preceding book(s). Gonna have to re-load my copy of #1 & re-fresh my crappy memory. :)
Omg, this series just gets better with each book! The edge of your seat action and spine tingling story line is just awesome. You can't help but to fall in love with the characters and all they have to go through to get to the other side! This is a series that will stand the test of time!
