As a honed weapon for the Cabal, I was made to kill. To defeat my enemies. To win.
I was made to survive whatever was thrown at me.
What I wasn't prepared for was surviving after love.
When I lost my family, I became the living embodiment for vengeance, killing all who had robbed me of my peace.
I expected retribution. Instead, I received an unusual offer: to accept an inheritance.
If I claim it, I will have the power to seek the shimmering future that I desperately want. But, I will also inherit new enemies who want that power for themselves.
A blessing and a curse. Two fates tied to the same coin.
Fortunately, I don't have to decide alone.
At my side are four immortal warriors who will stand by me through anything, even against a looming threat…
Maestra continues the story of Immortelle. This dark Urban Fantasy is meant for mature readers, and contains reverse harem romance themes.
Hi, I'm Elle Cross, and I write Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance. I live in NYC with my husband and the imaginary dog that we will one day adopt. I have a massive makeup collection and I'm grateful that, as a freelance makeup artist, I can justify buying even more.
When I'm not playing with color or my imaginary friends, I can usually be found in the nearest diner or bubble tea shop trying to take the perfect picture of my drink while my husband rolls his eyes.
(Yes, we're that couple. And, no, I don't post my food pics on my Instagram feed.)
Death is still my favorite <3 but love the others as well! I'm glad that we got more Fear in this book, I was super intrigued by him in the first book. We learned a lot of things and there's still questions I want answered so I'm looking forward to the next book! I can't wait to see more of Immortelle and the guys' relationship grow and I'm rooting for Fear to be in the harem!
I absolutely loved Maestra just as much as I did Nemesis, and I can’t wait until Invicta is here because I have to know where Elle Cross is going to take this amazing story that she is weaving! The Immortelle series is so addicting with constant building and releasing that I was kept sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading this book! Elle Cross knows how to create the perfect blended story, she knows when to add the action and she knows when to add some steam, and she definitely knows how to keep her readers kept in suspense and wondering what’s going to happen next! So yes it’s going to be a big HECK YEAH I most definitely do recommend this book to anyone who’s searching for a amazing story to climb into and get completely lost within its pages. But a word of advice if you haven’t read Nemesis then I highly suggest that you do that way you’ll understand this book a lot better.
Maestra (Immortelle Book 2) Kindle Edition by Elle Cross
I loved the first in this series, as a fan of Keanu and John Wick. Part of me was disappointed that the second parted ways with the series (I was looking forward to the tailor scene) but the rest of me was enraptured by the new take.
Immortelle's own mythology is brilliant and her men have entranced me. Immortelle will live on past this series, becoming one of the female leads that other writers aspire to creating. Mortal with the heart and memories of a never dying weapon, she truly should have more than just three books (which seems to be the projection.) For me, she measures up to Jane Eyre (that's saying a lot for a girl who thrives on Charlotte Bronte) and more modern heroines like Anita Blake.
Death is sexier than any living or immortal male I've had the pleasure of reading in a very very long time. His eternal love for Immortelle is what every breathing woman has ever dreamed of. He is three dimensional, even when he is in the Otherworld as is War. War is more raw, rougher around the edges. I see him as a Celt with blue woad and braids. Strife and Mischief, twins and truly creatures of their names, are playful and dangerous.
The worlds that Ms. Cross moves us through are beyond the myths of childhood. They are the dark worlds of Maerchen (German Fairytales) and of the Tuatha De Danaan/Sihde of Celtic legend. Even the sweetest appearing creatures are deadly.
I seriously am sending up prayers that Ms. Cross is kind enough to gift us with at least the third book and that the Lovecraftian Elder Gods make their tentacles known.
This is one of those series that if I were to win a massive lottery I would finance into being as either a series of blockbuster movies or Hulu/NetFlix series.
Cliffhanger warning!! Because I'm already starving for book three as it is, I skipped the preview.
Five immortal stars out of five
The Book Nerd is pacing her imaginary library in anticipation of the next novel
I was super excited for this book, and for the most part it lived up to my expectations. Immortelle, Death, War, Mischief, Strife, and Fear are all very interesting characters. Immortelle had some exceptionally interesting revelations happening. Now, here's what didn't exactly work for me (and maybe I'm just a bit dense): some explanations of events that occurred/parts of the plot were a bit confusing. I attribute a bit of this to a fuzzy memory of book one. That said, I was occasionally confused, hence a rating of four and not five stars. I am one hundred percent interested in reading and excited for book three, the final one in the trilogy. I only wish this book had been longer, as I devoured it in a day. Great work Ms. Cross! Also, cool stuff with the pixies/oracle.
Elle Cross has blown me away yet again! I seriously fell in love with Lucy in book one but Imomortelle, now she's one strong woman and hot damn is she. Oh yeah and her guys aren't so bad either haha, I mean who doesn't love these four horsemen, am I right? Death grew on me right away in book one, but War is yummy. I really wish I had more stars to give this book, it's action packed, fast paced, dark, violent and we really get to see Immortelle grow as a character and into the potential we saw forming in book one. Elle did a fantastic job with the writing, the description and world building are incredible, the heat is there in spades, and the twists and turns through the story arc are freaking phenomenal! I can not recommend this series enough and I very much look forward to reading how things come together!
We need book 3! I soooo want to find out what happens next and why the traitor was, bc holy h311 her wrath will be the stuff of legends! Such a good story. Honestly, the first book followed the plot of John Wick a bit too much for my liking, but I kept with it and I’m glad I did, bc even though some of the JW elements are still there in this one, it’s starting to round out into it’s own epic story. Honestly, I want to see her go nuclear, I WANT to see her be Kali, and I am dying to see her transformation into the full Nemesis mantle! Evil will BURN!
Wow! So much information and discovery in this one. We get action packed reading from the start, with so many new and old connections forming and evolving! This book left me with more questions than answers but this is a great thing because I am more curious about the big finale! Immortelle is learning that love can have many forms, she is more into accepting her relationship with Death. War definitely makes his intentions clear too. I am happy to say we get more Fear in book 2. 😊🤗 So get ready to embark in the continuation of Ms Lucy’s story were nothing is what it seems! 😉
Immortelle is an amazing FMC, her strength, values, curiosity and quick mind and also her personality just make up an awesome character. I really liked reading about her interactions with Death, War, Mischief, Strife and Fear. I love how some of the mysteries surrounding Immortelle are coming to light. The book and the series so far are creative and beautifully intense. The story flows so well and the character development over the 2 books so far is phenomenal. Elle does it again with another spectacular book. I can't wait for book 3 need to know what is going to happen next!
I think I enjoyed the second book to Imortelle's story better than the first book. There was interesting world building that added to the lore of this gray sided underworld. It wasn't typically evil v. good, despite the fact that there are atypical villains in the story. This difference is a new reading experience for me.
The character development with Immortelle and her harem is the icing on the cake to this engrossing plot. The relationships help bring more of Immortelle as an individual, which I hope continues as the series progresses.
Soooo Goood!!!! I couldn't put it down. It starts out so strong and ends the same way. As soon as some questions are answered you have a ton more. Still love Immortelle and Death is definitely my favorite of the guys. I want to leArn more about Fear and I keep wondering if he will be part of her harem. This is an amazing series and can't recommend it enough. A must Read. Wish I could give it more than 5 stars.
Immortelle is back! This second book for Immortelle is full of secrets and steam. As Immortelle finds her way back to her old self, she is thrust into a powerful mystery that only she can solve. Surrounded by a harem of deliciously different men, she begins to unravel her past. But political schemes has her soon alone again as she fights to save us all. Extremely well written with twists and turns at every corner, Maestra will captivate you from beginning to end!
A sexy jam packed continue on the story or Ms Lucy. With sexual tension building with her men, steamy scenes with Death & War, and visibly thick sexual tension with Fear, add this to plot twist after plot twist & a storyline you couldn’t predict in your wildest imagination. Immortelle doesn’t know who she can trust, and what is truth or lies. Even as you get some answers, 10 more pop up that you need to know!
Book Two picks up where Nemesis left off. Cross does a wonderful job with world building and character development in this story. Immortelle is growing and learning and learning to accept her 4 immortals who will do anything to protect her. We get to learn more about her men and experience more. This was definitely a binge read for me. Can’t wait to see how this series will end. It’s truly captivating.
Maestra is book 2 in the Immortelle series - the story about a human woman, that is something more, but what is she in the end? I can tell that Ms. Cross had created really masterfully crafted plot and twists. Immortelle will find a lot about her purpose and some work changing decisions will be made here. For her guys - the relationships will be growing with each guy at a different pace. That made so much sense that made me grow for each of them even more! I hope book 3 will be here very soon!
This is a great series and feels pretty original for a Reverse Harem. Although, for those who favour the focus on romance, I'd say this is definitely more UF with a RH romance on the side. I loved Imortelle and I'm excited to see what she is going to become in the next book.
This series has really interesting world building, and I love her guys, although I definitely could do with more development on that front!
I loved the first book but this one was boring to me and I had to push to get through it. There wasn't enough action and drama or intimacy. Then there is so much information about the different factions that it is confusing and hard to keep up with. I like these characters and the author but I really hope the next book is a lot better.
I absolutely love this series and can't wait for the next adventure. And I am grateful that this author has her books on kindle unlimited. Every time Ms. Cross puts out a book I am quick to scoop it up so I can read her incredible imagination put into words. I would highly recommend this author and this series.
When you get into reading a second book you tend to have preconceived theories on what to expect. That does not work for this book. I was flabbergasted at a special twist that shaped and changed things for Lucy/Immortelle while shes still on her "original" journey. I am thrilled by Ms. Cross and her ability to weave a story so thoroughly absorbing as the life of Immortelle.
This is the second book of a planned trilogy. The first book reminded me of a female John Wick, but the second develops into another story all together. The pacing is good and the world building unique. I don’t want to give too much away. Can’t wait for the final installment.
Are you shitting me with that ending 🤣🤣😥😥😍😍..this is one of the best stories I've read in a long time, please I need more more more .... much more than one book 🥧🥧🥧want to devour and develop these characters ♥️♥️♥️
This is the second book in the series and should be read in order. That being said, Elle Cross writes an amzing story that keeps you intrigued from page one. I absolutely loved this book and can not wait for more.
I’ve waited for this book to come out and the wait was worth it. Immortelle aka Lucy’s journey is only half way through (if that). It is nice to see her realize that you can love again. Can’t wait for book 3.
I'm loving this Series. It has a John Wick feel to it. Controlled Chaos is the best way for me to describe the characters and feel of this book. Hope I don't have to wait to long for the last book.
We learn more of the powers that push and play at Immortelle and get insights into her relationships. We are left with a sad ending but a renewing of her quest and her choosing to embrace her gifts and powers to be strong
I want to know more about Nyx! I love the Immortelle/Lucy character. She is awesome and she is powerful and very cunning. I would love to read more. Also, great use of triune sisters.
Liked this better than the first. Fast past, original, great world building. Immortelle becomes more powerful, but keeps kindness that seems to makes her so popular among the different creatures. Read it in one afternoon & now I can't wait to see the conclusion with book three.
Unfortunately I was not able to finish this one. For me personally the book read very monotone and did not hold my interest. Not every series is for everyone.
