Some family holiday memories last a lifetime… The Homer Tunnel has vanished, and with it the last link to life as the Williams family know it. Fiordland has them trapped, leaving their car – and cellphone – useless. Their only hope is to make it by foot to Milford Sound in an attempt to escape the kaleidoscope of history. Separated from their parents, and each other, Zoe and Seth face an uncertain future, and must rely on the past to survive. Surveying the Homer Saddle, tracking giant moose with Jim Muir and Eddie Herrick, exploring with Young Bob Murrell, and meeting the legendary Lost Tribe, Zoe and Seth venture into an incredible world where anything can happen – and often does! But Fiordland has always been a place where nature rules, and myth and reality merge. Zoe and Seth travel through time, in a bid to reach the eighth wonder of the world. But what will they find when they get there? (WARNING: Incredible adventure awaits. Contains hunting scenes, a conservation dog, and the greatest eagle that has ever lived. You have been warned!)
For ages 10-14 years, and adults who enjoy a good yarn
This book is a time travel adventure set in Fiordland National Park, a World Heritage area in New Zealand. It includes historical photos and illustrations.
I'm a New Zealand writer who enjoys creating true-to-life Kiwi characters and communities in my contemporary New Zealand stories, capturing the unique way of life of small-town rural Mainlanders.
I've lived around the South Island (and Stewart Island!) with family originally hailing from the West Coast. Each of my books weaves in the southern places that have a special place in my heart, and the outdoor way of life that is such a special part of New Zealand life.
My "Across the Strait" books are set around a family where all is not as it seems, moving through Central Otago and Stewart Island. My "Maniototo Skies" books are set around the plains of the Maniototo, dealing with the far reaching consequences of a moment of anger, and the nature of forgiveness - or not! My stories have a strong flavour of New Zealand - including the wildlife, the scenery, the music and art.
Yep, my books are romances - they have a hero and heroine, and a happily ever after. But a fair bit happens along the way to appeal to those readers who tell me they "never ever read romance" (I believe you!) as well as those of us that do (and there's a few of us, looking at the stats!).
My next book "A Southern Skipper" (Book 4, Across the Strait) will be published mid-2018 and I'm currently planning my next book.

I fell in love with this amazing novel. 12 year old twins travel back in time in Fiordland, Nz. They meet characters from the past who teach important life lessons along the way. A brilliant mash of history and storytelling! And the historical photos and maps are beautiful
