Grim is the reluctant Alpha of the Rogue Pride Crew, and just trying to get from one day to the next without maiming his Crew. Controlling one animal is hard enough for shifters, but Grim is the only one in existence with two animals—a good lion and a monstrous lion named the Reaper. His life has been turned upside down after he fled his old Pride, and landed in a trailer park of lumberjacks in the heart of dragon territory. He’s Grim during the day and the Reaper at night, and life can’t get much more complicated. That is until he runs into a shy, blue-haired, curvy stunner named Ashlynn Kane. Ash might be just the distraction Grim needs to keep his inner Reaper from tearing his new Crew apart, but the closer he gets to her, the more he starts to believe in a bigger future for himself. And the more he believes, the more turmoil finds him and his new Crew.
Ash Kane is a simple girl who got left behind. Her best friends have joined a new Rogue Pride Crew, and no one calls anymore. Her life has become routine, and quiet, and lonely. That is, until her friends come back for a short visit and bring one monstrous, dual-personality Alpha lion shifter named Grim. She’s submissive, and he’s about as dominant as they come, and they shouldn’t be a good match, but she’s not scared of him, and here’s why. Her instincts are screaming that deep down, that trouble-makin’ man has good in him. She’s falling hard for him, but Grim is being hunted and haunted by a ghost from his past that could annihilate them both and ignite a war in Damon’s Mountains.
Good lion, bad lion, good lion, bad lion. Half of Grim is salvageable, but always beware of the Reaper.

T.S. Joyce is devoted to bringing hot shifter romances to readers. Hungry alpha males are her calling card, and the wilder the men, the more she'll make them pour their hearts out. She werebear swears there'll be no swooning heroines in her books. It takes tough-as-nails women to handle the shifters of Bear Valley.
She lives in a tiny town, outside of a tiny city, and devotes her life to writing big stories. Foodie, bear whisperer, ninja, thief of tiny bottles of awesome smelling hotel shampoo, nap connoisseur, movie fanatic, and zombie slayer, and most of this bio is true.
Bear Shifters? Check Smoldering Alpha Hotness? Double Check Sexy Scenes? Fasten up your girdles, ladies and gents, it's gonna to be a wild ride.
He's beyond dominant. She's a submissive. There should be no way these two would work, yet they are perfect together. I loved how Ashlynn accepted him for who he was, and how Grim wanted to be a better Lion for her. 5 stars
I love T.S. Joyce and read practically everything she's written. I've thorough enjoyed each novel in the Daughters of Beast series and recommend to any reader who enjoys shifter romances. They're hunky. What's more to say?
Honestly, IDK WTF I think of this book. Ash "doesn't talk good" and Grim has 3 personalities. All in all, it was a very uncomfortable and unsatisfying read.
Small spoiler below. you have been warned not to read.
T.S. Joyce made my Monday with his book. Ash Bear is a book I have been dying to get my hands on for a couple of books now. No one else writes shifter books like T. The characters are relatable. You feel like you are part of each one her books as you immerse yourself into their world for that short few hours. You become a crew member with them. Imperfectly imperfect and it is okay in this world. It is my favorite part of T's books.
Grim is Alpha of the Rogue Pride Crew and has intrigued me from the first line I read about him. He was broken, and I knew his story would break me. And it did. It destroyed me, and Ash was right there to put us both back together with her adorableness. God this girl who thought she was awkward and not good with people was just perfect.
I cannot stress enough how much I loved his book. Ash and Grim were both thought to be broken but really, they just needed to meet their soulmate who understood them. Who got their ticks, their sad times, and their fun times.
This book has so many of the other crew members in it my heart swelled with joy!! And Vyr I am watching you, buddy. And by that, I mean I am now stalking T more for more insight into what you are up to mister. But thank you for bringing your daddy out to play. {{WINKS}} I missed him!
Grim .. Reaper -the man with two beasts. The Hunter. He was the question mark. The one who was going to hurt.
Being the creeper that I am.. I got my stalk on with all T S Joyce's socials so I could keep up to date with when Grim hit live. So I of course read all about her fight with his story and some greedy ass characters trying to get extra airtime. I knew after reading up that this one would hurt and there may be some shit that surprised me. I was not disappointed, obviously.
Grim is the sweetest monster. Oxymoron.. maybe, but he is. See no matter how bad it got he always looked out for Ash. The deeper we delved into all of his hidden cracks, the more I fell in love with this big broken hero. He didn't want to be a monster he was made that way but that wasn't going to be his future.
"I hear that racing heart. Don't be prey, pretty blue-haired lady. The bad in me likes it to much."
Ash, the delicate flower that will survive a storm. I'm not a fan of submissive characters usually. It's just a thing I can't help but be frustrated by however Ash had the complete opposite effect on me. Yes she's the timid shy one of her group but she still had a voice. I love her quirks and most of all I love that even if she's scared she'll stand up for what's right. She's strong in her own way.
When people got left behind, they didn't just cease to exist. They still had lives and hours to fill during the day, jobs and struggles. They still had sadness and joy. They still lived day in day out, missing whoever had left them behind.
Ash was careful of the people she chose, but when she picked one, her heart picked them for always.
This story has so much more sweet that I imagined it having. Grim has never been given acceptance or the chance to be softer. Ash has never had someone who will love her but also give her room to grow. Their story focuses on them solely, there isn't a lot of angsty drama. We get that slow burn romance full of growth and learning. We get a good understanding of who they are as individuals as well as them together whilst learning about what made them who they are in the first place. The story is great and rich is depth. The characters are brilliant! Loveable, easy to connect and very relatable in their emotions. Their story isn't easy because despite it not having a tonne of drama.. Ash and Grim had their own demons to work through. Also we have one particular side character who decided to take stage a few times letting us know that maybe his story isn't as finished as we had originally thought. Typical really of Vyr to pinch a little limelight. So yes this just killed it!. Sweet, raw, emotional gritty and humorous with all kinds of crazy shenanigans.. this story was epic as per. As far as shifter/ PNR romance goes T S Joyce really dominates the world with her larger than life characters.
Since meeting Grim I have been intrigued to get to his book, to see why the Reaper exists. The story is brutal, but what makes it worse is that things didn't have to happen, if only his pride were decent people, his life could have been more normal.
I really liked how Ash was around Grim. Nothing seemed to phase her about his behavior, even when he was trying to scare her. I especially liked the chat that she had with Reaper. I also really loved the chat that Ash had with her dad, Bash, and how he told her to go after Grim.
I was a bit surprised by the role that Vry played in things. It seems like there is much going on there, I look forward to see what happens with him.
I really enjoyed this book. Although the ending war left many questions, I think this is one of my favorites from the author. I can’t wait to read book 4.
I loved the imperfect relationship of Joshua and Ash. The representation that opposites do attract is still real even in fictional sense. I loved that both were able to recognize both weaknesses and strengths of the other and that caused them to have their own special bubble. Everyone wants that special person to see ALL of them. Great work and major laughs as usual.
5 stars, if there were more, I would give this book more. I absolutely loved this book. I think Grim and Ash might be my favorite mates yet in the T.S. Joyce world. Grim Reaper is a monster, Ash is a submissive. Something in each of them calls to the other. They see things in each other that no one else sees. It was a sweet story, filled with hope. Can't wait for the next book by T.S. Joyce.
I knew grim's story would be good. I have been anticipating it since I started reading the daughter of beasts. I loved how it was a mix of gritty and sweet. A perfect mix of grim n Ash. I truly enjoyed this book. I'm excited abt the next!!
I've loved every series and spinoff in this web of stories. Ash Bear is no exception. What I loved about this couple is the tender way they helped build each other up and heal and understand each other. Grim and Ash were a beautiful fit. Then there's this lovely camaraderie with the Rogue Pride crew that I'd been looking forward to in this series. Plus there are several cameos from other series that added to the excitement.
Very sweet h saves the H who is a monster. The h offers her absolute trust and loyalty to the H, and he is smitten with her. She is a simple person and I really liked her courage. We get great insight into the H, I loved this book.
Love how awesome grim is. This definitely going to be one of my favorites. Reading this made me remember how much I loved Bash. He was so amazing in his own simple but complex way and he passed that right onto his daughter. A heart of gold meet the coal. Grim and Ash are so very opposite that they perfectly compliment and complete each other.
Liked this one much more than the last. Ash is freaking awesome, especially when she can't string her words together, and I adore that Grim still understands her. Love this total fail Crew!
Reaper/Grim is the alpha and a monster made by his pride. Ash is a she bear and a submissive but she may be just what Grim and the crew needs to save them.
I loved how Grim and Ash's story played out. It was sweet but fierce. Not really sure what is going on with Vyr. I hope we get an update on that, especially since he's supposed to be mated and settled.
Grim’s story is finally here and boy oh boy, what a story! Ash, Bash Kane’s daughter, is the next to step up and claim herself a man. Ash is a bit different to her besties, Juno and Remi, in that she is a submissive bear. But when faced with Grim, she’s not afraid of him and eventually he starts to feel BIG😍 The interaction between Bash and Ash towards the end, had me teary but also was sweet as candy❣️ Loved this story and look forward to Grim’s Crew at Christmas time 🎉 🥳 🎉
I don’t know how it’s possible for Damon’s Mountains Universe to get any better, but it does with ever single new story added — it just gets better. Ash Bear is the third story in the connecting series of Daughters of Beasts… and it is a roller coaster of emotions, laughter, banter, danger and discovering who Ash and Grim really are, separate or together.
Ash is going to break your heart with her self-descriptions of herself, she’ll break it even further when in frustration she finally tells her best friends, Remi and Juno what they did to her when they left her behind to take up their new lives with their mates and new crew. Ash will see, truly see Grim and The Reaper. Good one, bad one. Green eyed one, golden eyed one. And she will bring this man with his dual beasts such healing as the battles within him brings him to the man he was meant to be… with Ash.
There is an epic battle, and I use that world specifically, one that is as unexpected as it is perfect for what is happening. I want to know more, and hope we get those answers down the line either in Grim Christmas or another series.
I was spellbound with Ash Bear and if you’ve followed the connecting series within Damon’s Mountains Universe, then I believe you will be, too. This was a perfect combination of emotions, actions and consequences for all the characters we meet in Ash Bear. I cannot give it high enough praise except to say — go pick this one up, now. From this moment onward, the phrase “I understand you.” will be just as important as “I love you.” Read this story, you’ll get it loud and clear.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Yet again another good book by T.S. Joyce, I loved Ash and Grims story as I believed Grim needed to find someone who understood him the most as having Two Lions on the inside is mentally taxing especially if one of them is a psychotic killing machine. After losing her two best friends to the rogue pride Ashlynn is feeling depressed that she's lost her best friends, although she is very happy for their mating and during a happy reunion between Juno and Rhett, Ash meets Grim the totally sexy and dangerous Lion lumberjack who is the Alpha of these Rogue miscreants even though he doesn't want the job. Ash is a little different than most people as she's a little socially awkward when talking to others as she feels like nobody understands her and that she can't understand other people through basic speech whereas when she meets Grim, she can talk to him so easy the conversation flows like water.
As the two grow closer together within a few days Grim realises that Ash is completely different from anyone he's ever met and that she does something for him although he has to deal with his psychotic Lion (The Reaper) who wants to destroy everything and hearing his good side who decides to show himself, Grim must fight tooth and nail to regain control. And as Ash developed feelings for this brooding alpha male she sees that caring for someone on a much deeper level can be possible she just have to find him. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it especially if you're a TS Joyce fan. I enjoyed the writing style and how the story moved through each point without stopping.
This is the third book in this series and they should be read in order. Grim is fighting everyday to keep going. The Reaper takes his body every night and he doesn’t know how much longer he can do it. Ash is Bash’s daughter. She has a hard time. She doesn’t understand people and finds it difficult to talk to people. But she understands Grim in no time. He understands her too. But she deserves someone better than him. Someone who doesn’t have two lions in him, one he can’t control at all. Ash feels like she has been left behind by her two friends. Now that she has found a new normal, they have come back and treat her like nothing is different. But she is different. Grim and Ash may be just what the other needs. He helps her be more confident and comfortable. She helps calm the Reaper. His other lion The Good is coming out more and more and he though that part of him was dead. I loved this book so much. Grim has so many different sides and Ash helps him so much. Grim is funny, funnier than I thought he could be. Ash is a little broken herself. Just in a different way then Grim. I can’t say enough about this book or Grim and Ash. Go buy this book NOW and read it.
