My son was in the service, some of the dialog in this story reminded me of those years when he visited with his friends. Very well written and just when I thought I had everything figured out BANG! I'm wrong. The book starts out with a very unusual first contact and introduces the reader to some lore that becomes very important. I have to say I love sci-fi stories about humans battling aliens against overwhelming odds. The story was awesome and the way the author snuck in some fantasy blew my mind and put this book in my top ten. If bugs don't make you squeamish, you will love this story.

I thought this was a fun read. It's scary to think about bugs ever becoming human-size, but that's the fun of good sci-fi. The main characters were likable, and you felt their sense of urgency as the characters were working against time during the war. I'm guessing this is going to be a series because not everything gets wrapped up, but the story is complete enough for this to be a standalone book.

The Raygin War is set in a futuristic storyline where beetles have evolved into intelligent species. They have attacked the humans, declared war, and one man, Mac, must help the human race win.
This was a well-written book with its interesting take on an evolved species. It's worth around a 4.3 rating and if you're interested in a futuristic wartime sci-fi storyline then I'd definitely recommend this book a read.

The story was well executed. I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction between the main character and tattoo girl. A couple of the scenes might make the squeamish flinch but it’s what happens when your invaded by a race of six foot tall beetles that stand upright. The training of the troops and dialog were great as were the battle scenes. I recommend this book to sci-fi readers.

Very cool space sci-fi with futuristic military advancements. I enjoyed the action scenes and the addition of humor; I actually laughed out loud a few times. The breakdown of physics brought in a very believable advancement of weaponry that made the story much easier to follow. I hope there is more to the series because I was left with wanting more!

Some of the personal interactions between characters felt a little unnatural but otherwise I found myself enjoying the story for the most part.
