Three novellas in one collection!

THE COWBOY’S CATCH by Kimberly Krey: When Jason Keller bids on a date with Marlee at the town’s annual fundraising event, she’s quick to turn him down. First of all, an evening with Marlee was never on the table; just dates with each of her younger sisters. Beyond that, Jason Keller—a man with Hollywood ties—is the last cowboy in town she’d go on a date with. Being abandoned because of her own mother’s Hollywood pursuits taught her well. But when the Keller Cowboy offers a hefty sum for the charities in question, in front of half the town no less, Marlee’s compelled to accept. It’s just one date after all, and it’s not like she’d ever fall for a man like him. Or so she thinks.

SELLING HER RANCH, STEALING HIS HEART by Annette Lyon: Teresa adores her job as manager of the J-Bar-D Ranch, which boards horses and offers riding lessons. The owner, Dorothy, has become like a grandmother to Teresa. But when Dorothy passes away unexpectedly, the ranch is put up for sale by none other than Dorothy’s only grandson, Derek. Even with the obvious chemistry between them, Teresa refuses to consider dating the guy who’s going to turn her beloved ranch into a strip mall. Derek wishes more than anything that he didn’t have to sell, but Grandma Dorothy ran the ranch into deep debt, and Derek’s own mother has ongoing medical bills. Without selling the ranch, he can’t pay off the debts or take care of his mother. If only he’d met Teresa had met at in a different time and place, they might have a future.

THE COWBOY’S SECOND GO by Cindy Roland Anderson: When recently divorced Callie Stewart, an aspiring country music artist, confronts the dishonest talent agent who stole her new song, he turns the tables on her, and her world spins out of control. Without proof she composed the hit song, Callie is forced to take her twin boys with her, move out of Nashville and live with her aunt in Montana. Having her dreams shattered leaves her trying to figure out how she will support her little family. Reconnecting with Ty Carter, her long-ago crush from high school and the guy who broke her heart, has her questioning her resolve to leave romance out of her new life. Ty isn’t just a good-looking cowboy, he’s sweet to her boys and makes Callie feel beautiful and alive. As her feelings for Ty grow stronger, the music reawakens inside her, inspiring her creativity and the desire to sing. Giving love a second chance might be the key to a forever love, and the start of a new music career…but can it be both?

Cowboys, horses and Montana...oh my! Hee Hee! I hope some of you got my Judy Garland ~ Wizard of Oz ~ reference there. I couldn't help myself. If you didn't, that's ok.

This collection is a clean romance lovers dream collection. My favorite was The Cowboy's Second Go by Cindy Roland Anderson. Although, I loved the other two just as much! These three novellas had so many fun moments. I laughed out loud at some of these characters. The family members in each story were so much fun. They were full of schemes and crazy antics that kept the main characters on their toes and added such a great dimension to the stories. Second to the fabulous main characters, the family aspect of the stories was my favorite part of this series.

There are plenty of swoony moments but overall great clean fun with characters who are struggling and healing. I loved reading and seeing them get their moments of happiness and continuing to move forward with the good in their lives. All of these are set in Montana with horses and cowboys and I loved them!

This one is definitely up there in my top five favorite collections in this Timeless Romance series!

Content: Clean. Each story has aspects of loss in them, whether divorce or death. But the authors did a great job writing about the subjects. The romance is clean, there are a couple scenes of a little more steamy kissing but nothing more than kissing in each story. I love these collections for that reason, I know I don't have to question whether or not they're clean.

I received a copy from the publisher. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

This is another Timeless Western Collection but, unlike the first collection which was set in the 1800's, this is a trio of contemporary love stories.

THE COWBOY’S CATCH by Kimberly Krey--Jason Keller is determined to get a date with Marlee Jenkins even though she's a "walking DO NOT TOUCH sign", so he puts her on the spot by bidding for a date with her at the town's annual fundraiser. Even though Marlee has never made herself available for bidding; heck she doesn't even date, she can't refuse when he offers $1,000 for the fundraiser and another $1,000 for the charity named after her dad. It's just one date and it's for a good cause, or so she tells herself.

This is a fairly new author for me, but it's a great story. I liked Jason and we find out why Marlee avoided him all the time and what she's got against the handsome cowboy.

SELLING HER RANCH, STEALING HIS HEART by Annette Lyon--When the owner of the J-Bar-D Ranch unexpectedly dies, Teresa, the ranch's manager, takes comfort in the fact that she still gets to live and work there--Dorothy told her so and it was in her will. When Dorothy's grandson, Derek shows up with a For Sale sign to say she's not happy would be a huge understatement.

Derek was in an awful position--trying to find a way to pay the debts his grandmother had while also trying to make sure his mother had the medical care she needed, even though he had to sell the ranch that held so many memories for him. I understood why Teresa was upset but not why she still "cannot speak to the person who sells the ranch ever again" despite Derek explaining about the debts and his mother's care--it seemed a bit extreme. Thankfully Derek was persistent and finally got her to listen and then she redeemed herself (to me) by finding a way to help Derek.

THE COWBOY’S SECOND GO by Cindy Roland Anderson--Callie Stewart moves from Nashville back to Montana with her twin boys to live with her aunt while she figures out what she's going to do. She doesn't know that Ty Carter, the crush who broke her heart when she was 15, lives next door to her aunt.

This is a great second chance love story. Who wouldn't want the chance to see what-might-have-been? Ty is great with Callie's twin boys--letting them see what a veterinarian does and taking them fishing. It has a more than one happy ending, and was a great story to end this collection.

Every time one of the Timeless collections come out I say how much I love them. You can multiple stories with a common theme by different authors. It's great to get shorter stories from favorite authors while at the same time trying out a new author. Even if westerns are not your favorite, check this one out.

I received a complimentary copy to read, but all thoughts expressed are my own.

I've never wanted to move to Montana more than I do now! There's something so soothing to the soul to enjoy a sweet romance under the big sky, where times are simpler, even if love lives aren't. The slower pace of a cowboy's life is something to be envied. Although they work hard, life isn't like the hustle and bustle of the city. This collection gets a standing ovation from me!

THE COWBOY'S CATCH starts the collection off with a bang. Sparks immediately fly between resistant Marlee and Jason, who has a Hollywood connection, which is exactly why Marlee is so hesitant. I love the slightly pushy and confident persona that Jason emits, because it's exactly what Marlee needs. The romance is swoony and perfectly natural, especially in the face of age-old fears.

Teresa and Derek both learn important lessons in SELLING HER RANCH, STEALING HIS HEART. It's impossible to know the full story if you're unwilling to listen and as each character opens their hearts and minds, love and romance is able to seep into the cracks and heal old wounds. I love the way this story defies the impossible and brings a sweet and tender love to balance the challenges.

THE COWBOY'S SECOND GO is the icing on the cake. I'm a fan of second chance romances and this one delivers in multiple facets of that trope, especially as an unrequited teenage love has a new chance. With adorable twins and an immediately sparky attraction, this swoony treat put an exclamation point to end this set. I loved the way the events in the past were recreated, mingling with new memories and hope. The conflict was perfect for the story and the music aspect touched my soul.

Content: mild, swoony romance (vague talk of affairs, kissing)

This was 3 novella's, all with cowboys in them. I was hoping we would get older westerns but these all ended up being contemporary romances. They were all interesting, nothing awesome but nothing bad. Good short stories to fill up an evening before you go to bed:} These were all clean, sweet reads.

The Cowboy’s Catch 🤠

-‘Am I crazy for letting myself fall for him so fast?’-

-‘“Yeah, but the problem is, I won’t feel this way in the morning. See, when I wake up tomorrow, all of this … all these emotions I’m feeling will be gone. And I’ll be right back in my don’t-want-a-guy state of mind and convinced that what I felt tonight wasn’t even real.”’-

When your Hollywood star mother leaves her entire family behind for fame in tinsel town, it’s hard to trust anyone who comes from that city with your heart. So when Jason shows interest in Marlee there’s no way she’s going to allow him access to her fragile heart... unless...

This author always knows how to ramp up the romance while keeping it clean. A definite must-read.

Selling Her Ranch, Stealing His Heart

-Teresa was named in the will, she was promised that she would stay on permanently as the ranch manager... but the will wasn’t formalized and so it’s not legally binding. When a grandson decides to put the ranch up for sale Teresa swears she will fight tooth and nail to keep the ranch and the house. She will protect it at all costs. But can she protect her heart too?

-‘Derek returned his phone to the holder, then breathed out heavily. Grandma had gotten the ranch into deep debt, and with his mother in a full-time care facility—expensive in and of itself—the job of paying off his grandparents’ debt had landed squarely on his shoulders.
He couldn’t help but remember the pain on the manager’s face. Teresa. That was her name. The ache in her eyes had reflected the pain he felt in the center of his chest. He didn’t want to sell the place, but he had no choice.’

This story is very well written. It flows easily at a good pace. It reads like a Hallmark movie.

The Cowboy’s Second Go

-Callie and Ty do a 360 degree turn from high school when Callie moves back home following her divorce and scandal over the ownership of a song. Determined to start again with her twin boys, Callie’s plans certainly don’t include falling in love with Ty again. He was her first kiss but he broke her heart then and she doesn’t plan on it happening again. But when things suddenly turn around for Callie and an unexpected opportunity arises, will it be Ty whose heart is broken this time?

I was captivated by this fast-moving storyline. This author always writes in a style I enjoy and it was hard to put down. Light, clean, sweet romance at its best!

I really enjoy cowboy stories, both historical and contemporary, I think because of the Louis L'Amour books I read as a teen from my dad's collection. All three of these stories embody what's special about the cowboy ideal- tough yet vulnerable, hard working and hard playing.

In The Cowboy's Catch, I liked seeing Marlee try to keep Jason at arm's length, only to discover that her prejudices about him weren't accurate. They had great chemistry, but the author's choice of verbs in a few instances threw me- she used "crooned" and "purred" and "mumbled" to describe the ways Jason spoke to Marlee, supposedly romantically... and it came off very odd to me. I would use "crooned" to describe the way someone sings, "purred" for a sound someone makes while getting a massage, and "mumbled" for something you say under your breath that you don't want the other person to necessarily hear. "Murmured" might have been a better choice in that last case. Other than my verb issues, it was a fun story ;)

The next story by Annette Lyon also has the female lead making unfair assumptions about the male lead. Teresa feels so strongly about the ranch she works at that she doesn't do a good job of listening to Derek, opting to storm off instead of face the situation. It was nice to see Derek prove her wrong as his time reconnecting with the ranch helps him get in touch with his love for the countryside.

My favorite of the three was The Cowboy's Second Go, seeing the journey Callie goes through as she returns to her hometown, faces her unrequited love and finally overcomes the awkward moment of young heartbreak she never forgave Ty for. He is such a sweetheart (now) and I enjoyed the wonderful scenes as he endears himself to her again and her two young boys.

What a fantastic collection of stories! I love these Timeless collections because you get multiple stories by different authors all revolving around a common theme. These stories all have a contemporary western feel to them and I do so love a good cowboy story. Kimberly Krey and Cindy Anderson are two of my favorite authors so I was all in for this collection and it didn't disappoint. The attraction, the misunderstanding and love were there in all three stories. I loved it from beginning to end!

I love these collections! It is so fun to read such good stories from these wonderful authors. Also, I can get into and finish a story without feeling that I have neglected my chores too badly. This collection is no exception. I loved it!
The Cowboy's Catch by Kimberly Krey. I loved this story. I love that she brought back Jason and told his story. I often wonder what happened to characters that are brought up in other stories. Thanks for tying up this loose end! Jason and Marlee's story was heart felt. I was great to see them get to know who each other really were. Including their strength's and weaknesses. So happy for their happily ever after!
Selling Her Ranch, Stealing His Heart. This was a great story about living, learning and loving others. Teresa and Derek had to learn to deal with life's up and downs and learn to love and rely on each other.
The Cowboy's Second Go by Cindy Roland Anderson This was a great story of rekindling a romance that tried to get started years earlier and had an abrupt halt. I was great to see Callie and Ty come together and take the scary risk of letting them selves love the other person no matter how scary it was. They learned that together they were stronger than they were apart. Life has risks, but the payoff is often worth it!
I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review.

These collections make me happy! I love the way they are a collection of 3 great stories by some of my favorite authors about a subject. Big Sky country in this case.

This one starts out with The Cowboy’s Catch by Kimberly Krey. This was a great way to start the collection. I loved the characters. Jason and the way he goes about getting Marlee to give him a chance made me laugh. He knows there’s no way she’d ever consider it, unless he tricks her. So he does. But he’s a complete gentleman and he truly cares for her, despite her ignoring him.

Marlee…she’s been hurt and abandoned time after time. The only way she can protect herself is to stay away from cowboys. But that doesn’t work so well with Jason. I loved the way she finds herself falling for him, against her own better judgement.

Next we have, Selling Her Ranch, Stealing His Heart. Teresa in this one is so great! I loved the way she was caring for her friends ranch after she died. But Teresa was a little bit clueless about the way the ranch had been run and she ends up shell-shocked when Derek shows up to sell the farm.

And Derek…he has to sell the farm. But he doesn’t really want to. Especially once he gets to know Teresa. I loved the way he thought outside of the box. And made things work out for both him and Teresa.

Last, but not least is The Cowboy’s Second Go by Cindy Roland Anderson. Don’t tell the other stories, but this might be my favorite of the three.

I loved Callie in this one! I loved the way she was strong for her boys. She was such a great mom, even when she was dealing with some hard things in her life. I really loved getting to see the kiss and everything else that caused her not to ever want to see Ty again.

Until he comes vaulting over his fence after her little boy broke his arm. I love a good scene with some awkwardness, especially when you know things will end up right in the end! Ty is a perfect leading man.

This one was everything I wanted to read in a romance!

Romance, clean; series but stand alone read
This was a hit for me with all of the novellas. With many of these, I find there is always one that is a little weaker of a read for me. These were all strong novellas, great characters, fun setting, interesting plots, and engaging in so many ways.
The premises for each novella were each unique, fun, and totally different. The H/h were each strong and struggling with different things in their lives. They each had honest, kind, capable characters with a hurt that needed to be healed, and hearts that were beautifully knit together over the course of the novella. Great chemistry in the mix too, with a beautiful fall in each one. The western setting was a plus, and gave the premises of these novellas a fun backdrop to the romances. My perfect kind of read! Totally a fan of this series.
I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review, my opinions are my own and in no way influenced by this.

Big Sky is part of the Timeless Western Collection. This book consists of three stories by three different authors. These stories include:
The Cowboy's Catch by Kimberly Krey: A fun story of Jason and Marlee. I loved those two!
Selling Her Ranch, Stealing His Heart by Annette Lyon: Teresa's boss, Dorothy, at the ranch works at passes away. Dorothy's grandson, Derek, comes in and puts the ranch up for sale. Derek and Teresa has instant chemistry, however on opposite sides on what is best for the themselves and the ranch.
The Cowboy's Second Go by Cindy Roland Anderson: Callie's life is completely changed with a divorce, being a sudden single mom, betrayal, lost career and moving thousands, miles away. Which she then meets up again with an old flame, Ty.
I enjoyed this collection. I found to be fun and delightful. If I had to choose a favorite, it would have to be Annette Lyon's Selling Her Ranch, Stealing His Heart.
I am giving this book four stars.
I received this book from the publisher, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

The Cowboy's Catch by Kimberly Krey
Marlee has avoided Jason ever since he moved to Montana, giving up a life in Hollywood to become a cowboy. But when he pays $2000 at a charity auction to go on a date with her, she has to give him a chance--and she finds he's not what she expected. But can Marlee let go of her fears enough to truly let Jason in?

This was my favorite of the three stories; I thought the author did the best job of showing the attraction between the characters. While a clean read, the chemistry was definitely there, and this was just a lot of fun to read.

Selling Her Ranch, Stealing His Heart by Annette Lyon
After his grandmother's death, Derek has to sell her beloved ranch due to a ton of debts accrued by the ranch and the costs of his mother's long-term care center. Ranch manager Teresa is none too happy about it--and makes sure Derek knows about it. Even though she soon sees he's a good guy trying to make the best of a bad situation and she even finds him attractive, she won't ever consider dating the man who would sell her beloved ranch.

The plot was interesting, but Teresa was a little too prickly for my liking, even out of line at times (like, she tells Derek she made it clear she didn't want to see him again, but he's on HIS property, not hers). Derek was a super good guy--total sweetie. I loved him.

The Cowboy's Second Go by Cindy Roland Anderson
Callie Stewart leaves Nashville where she'd been trying to make it as a singer-songwriter after a talent agent steals her song. Callie and her twin sons head home to Montana, where she finds her former high school crush, Ty Carter, now lives next door to the aunt with whom she is staying. Although she has sworn off men, Callie quickly finds that Ty is pretty amazing--tender and sweet with her boys and with her.

This was another great story; I liked seeing Ty and Callie reconnect and seeing how great Ty was with Callie's sons.

This was a fun collection. Great choice for those looking for clean, contemporary romances with dreamy cowboys. There were a few editing problems (not using the plural possessive correctly), but all in all, these were fun stories to read.

I read a copy of the ebook provided by the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Chemistry, Cowboys and kisses!!! A cute combo for sure!

When I write my reviews I try to keep to the general, as I don't want to give to much away and spoil the book for another reader.

I enjoyed the three stories and the new authors I discovered by reading this collection.

The first story was my favorite of the three. Great story with humorous parts, clean romance, but also deals with past fears on both of the main characters. To be honest, fishing got a whole lot more interesting. The story got me hook, line and sinker.

The second story was cute, and dealt with many real life struggles, many I could relate to personally, so it struck some chords with me. It is a cute story, humor, romance and great 5 o'clock shadow. I would have liked the story to continue a bit more to give more substance and see where the story goes... maybe a sequel? But enjoyed the story!

The third story also is humorous and clean steamy kisses. The characters are both once bitten, twice shy but does old flames die??? Would have liked a bit more after the great ending scene. Another cute story...loved the play on words!

Would recommend the book and the authors!

Hello Montana! It was fun reading a collection focused on the same location. It fed my desire for cowboys, summer days, and sunshine. I’m picturing myself there instead of the winter wonderland I’m currently residing in.

The Cowboy’s Catch by Kimberly Krey 5 stars
Marlee Jenkins works with her sisters on a trout farm. She’s been basically raising them for the last five years, and doesn’t have time to date.

Jason Keller left the Hollywood lifestyle for the quiet and fulfilling life in Montana. He admires Marlee, but she won’t give him the time of day. He hatches a plan to get a date with her at a charity auction when he offers up $2,000.

Marlee has some definite prejudices, but I loved watching her let them go as she got to know Jason. I also loved that Jason did not give up on Marlee. Some very cute moments and good chemistry in this one.

Selling Her Ranch, Stealing His Heart by Annette Lyon 3 stars
Teresa is the manager at the J Bar D Ranch. When the owner, Dorothy, dies, Teresa is crushed. When Dorothy’s grandson, Derek, shows up to sell the ranch, she is spitting mad!

I liked the day to day look into ranch life in this story, and the way Teresa was trying to teach “the city slicker” a lesson. The beautiful scenery really popped out in this one.

The Cowboy’s Second Go by Cindy Roland Anderson 5 Stars
Callie Stewart left Nashville in a cloud of shame when her song was stolen, and no one believed her. She and her four year old twins moved across the country to Montana to live with Callie’s Aunt Joy.

What Callie didn’t count on was seeing her teenage crush, Ty Carter, living next door. The chemistry between Ty and Callie was smoldering, but they each have a lot of baggage to overcome. I loved how straight forward Callie was. The relationship they built felt honest and real. Ty was amazing with Callie’s boys. I loved that being a father was so important to him.

Content: clean (no language, some kissing, no violence)

Wow! I just finished this book and that's the first word that came to mind. 2 of these authors are new to me,. I've only been familiar with Annette Lyon previously, but I'm going to be looking for more by Kimberly Krey and Cindy Roland Anderson. I could give story by story reviews but TBH they were all really good and flowed beautifully to the end. I forgot there were different authors except when a character referred to different mythologies and included Finnish - I knew that was Ms Lyon.

Each story was well written and engaging. Short and sweet. Enjoyed all three. Unlike Calico Ball, there was no underlying theme, other than all three stories take place in Montana with handsome, vulnerable men. I also have a soft spot for second chances, and there's one of those here, too!

I received a free copy; this is my honest opinion.

What a great collection! Each one had something to tug on the heartstrings. Usually in a collection there is one story or more stories that don't quite make you keep turning the page. But in this collection I just loved all the stories. The only problem was that the book ending! I am ready to read more.

I loved this trio of Montana romance novellas. The first in the book was likable but I didn't like the heroine much. The second and third books in the series were DELIGHTFUL! All three were well written. The characters were great and the plots moved quickly and steadily. I love anthologies so that I can read a short novella in a sitting.

Big Sky Collection 3.5 stars

The Cowboy’s Catch by Kimberly Krey (3.5 stars)

Clever story about Marlee who owns and works a trout farm in Montana and Jason who has left Hollywood to pursue his dream of being a rancher. Both characters are damaged by family, Marlee more so than Jason, but have chosen fulfilling lives full of friends and siblings.

Their love isn’t a smooth road, but it’s fun to read about the true healing they experience together.

Nice elements of prayer, church and belief in God and His goodness.

Selling Her Ranch, Stealing His Heart by Annette Lyon (3 stars)

Cute story where the H and h both have a hand in saving each other. You’ll end it with a smile on your face!

My main complaint is that they don’t actually know one another. And that makes it hard to suspend disbelief. They have the love of a ranch and love for his grandma in common, but the actual time spent conversing with each other is close to nil.

That said, it was a sweet story and I enjoyed reading it.

The Cowboy’s Second Go by Cindy Roland Anderson (4 stars)

A very well crafted story! Loved the H and h and their strength of character. The author took the time needed to let the two of them connect in a real way. Yes, there are really great kisses and chemistry, but you felt their connection on a deeper level.

I would have liked to know what their future looks like, but I do know they’ll work it out together. The author leaves little doubt of that.

This is the first story I’ve read by this author and I’ll definitely be looking for more!

Timeless Romance has a reputation for providing clean romances that have not been previously published. This book offers three longer novellas (some of their books have six shorter novellas).

THE COWBOY'S CATCH (Kimberly Krey) -- G
I didn't care for this story. I'm not into wildly wealthy people "struggling" with life. When a guy donates $2000 for a date, he's out of the realm of regular folks.

SELLING HER RANCH, STEALING HIS HEART (Annette Lyon) -- VG
This is a winning plotline with Derek forced to sell his grandmother's ranch due to the heavy debts incurred by the ranch and his mother's continuing Alzheimer's care. This perplexing problem seems to have no solution because Teresa had been promised to remain the ranch manager (by Dorothy, the deceased owner of the ranch). This is a great story until the second solution arrives at Teresa's hands. It was unlikely and unrealistic.

THE COWBOY'S SECOND GO ( Cindy Roland Anderson) -- VG
Callie Stewart is a country singer and songwriter on her way in Nashville when an unscrupulous man stole her song and gave it to another artist, who had a hit with it. Then, the man started the rumor that Callie had claimed the song was hers and created a scandal (Callie was in shock and had not started the rumor).  Callie and her twin sons go home to Montana, where Callie meets Ty Carter, an old-time crush. Now, he's a vet. He also lives next door to Callie's aunt, with whom the Stewarts stay.  One thing leads to another. The ending was pure corn pone.

This collection is fantastic!!!

The Cowboy’s Catch by Kimberly Krey is great. Marlee is stubborn and doesn't think she could ever get married. She is quick to judge anyone connected to Hollywood, especially Jason. Jason has eyes only for Marlee and is determined to show her he's for real. I love how quickly they connect and work to overcome fears and struggles.

Selling Her Ranch, Stealing His Heart by Annette Lyon is also good. Teresa is a little hotheaded and refuses to listen before going irate. Derek is torn in pieces trying to make everything in his life work. There is a good connection and Derek is a good guy trying to solve problems and show Teresa he cares.

The Cowboy's Second Go by Cindy Roland Anderson is my favorite in the collection! Callie has had some very real challenges that derail her professional and plans for her person life. After relocating to her aunt's home, one of her rambunctious twins hurts himself. I love that the person flying to her rescue is the boy she loved as a youth, Although he gave her heartache, Ty works to prove he's grown and loves her. They have a great swoony connection. I'm a little unsure about the ending of the story, but I love the heart of the story!!!
