From a convention for therapists who uncover “memories” of ritual abuse to Pizzagate enthusiasts, conspiracy entrepreneurs, Satanists, and flat-earthers, Satan Goes to the Conspiracy Convention is a tour through some of the scariest and most tragic corners of right-wing conspiracy culture. Along the way, the reader will learn the truth about CIA mind control experimentation and discover the real reason for the Satanic Panic of the 1980s and 1990s. This provocative book is a must-read for anyone concerned with the real effects of pseudoscience, right-wing politics, and quack psychiatry on American life.
Interesting & rarely discussed background information on the topics of mind control, repressed memory recovery and multi-personality disorder, particularly as how it relates to the modern conspiracy culture. If you follow or have an interest in these topics, you'd be well advised to familiarize yourself with the info found in this book. Particularly if you feel you may disagree with its stance, its important to be aware of the background here. From there you can come to your conclusions, but it should not be ignored. My only real complaint is that I would have liked to see a full length book really digging deeper into the subject. The first half of the book is the main subject with the second half being a collection of articles written around the broader conspiracy culture. While I appreciate the additional inclusion, my interest in the previous material was left wanting much more.
