For the past five years, that’s all I’ve known, which was why escaping to Olsen Bay was supposed to be a new start. A safe haven we could call home… A place I could finally be free.
But Fate had other plans.
Four beautiful, tall, handsome and broad-shouldered men with crystal clear eyes walk into my life, and I’m captivated.
They’re mysterious and intriguing, and something about them has me gravitating in their direction until things start to happen that I can’t explain. Suddenly, everything I thought I knew about myself, my parents, and the world around me is thrown into jeopardy.
Who are they? What do they want from me? And why?
Between them, the pendant, and unexplainable magic happenings, I’m about to make a startling discovery. One that could change the course of my life for good. Or, could it be bad?
My name is Ella Anderson, and with the help of my Guardians, this is how I saved our world.
Synergy: A Reverse Harem Romance is Book One of The Ether series. Book Two, Sanctum, and Book Three, Supernova, will be out soon.
The first 50% of the book has the main character asking the same questions over and over again. She’s either shut down, ignored, or redirected so easily. She gives in every time and we have to reread the same questions again and again. Finally, half way through she gets some basic questions answered. Not fully developed answers either and certainly no reason she couldn’t have been told long before. I stopped there. The build up was difficult to get through with feeble protests and the final semi answer didn’t justify it. I can only imagine how many more times this will happen. Just wait, I can’t tell you, I wish I could tell you.... She’s 20, not 10. I don’t see how the character will be a strong savior she’s supposed to be since she constantly backed down all the time. I gave up. The book was too predictable and I couldn’t bring myself to finish it.
So I want to know what happens next at least, but I can't say I thought this opening was good. First the 20 year old character reads like a 12 year old. She takes orders from pretty much everyone around her without explanation and whines in her head about how unfair it is. She's supposedly a legal adult but behaves less maturely than my 15 year old. She's practically incapable of making her own decisions and the few times she does try to she's so indecisive and distracted in her own head that she's more hindrance than help. She thinks and talks like she's well past retirement age using describing the Male leads in terms like strapping young men. Much of her vocabulary are words you're more likely to hear at a senior center than a college campus. I get that she's not in college but she is college age, supposedly, even though she doesn't read like it at all. This character apparently missed the Women's Rights movement in history class because seriously she's acts as though it never happened and allows herself to be ruled by her father and then her guardians. She displays almost no signs of inner or outer strength whatsoever and isn't really someone you want to root for, most of the time I kept think she needs to grow the hell up and get a backbone. Because Ella never forces anyone to just answer her questions before doing as they ask you barely have a sense of what's going on in the book because she's so freaking clueless. I don't respect this character because she does nothing to earn it and because of that its highly difficult to root for her. She's like pretty girl in horror movies that you relish getting killed off first because she's so irritating. The Male characters are underdeveloped and I was almost finished with the book before I could really distinguish one from the next. Her backstory is extremely hard to believe, like okay she supposedly lived in hotel rooms running every few weeks for six years and somehow managed to finish high school? She gets a job from a person she's only known days without applying or filling put employment paperwork. It's like the realities of modern life were ignored because they didn't fit with what the author wanted in the story. I kind of want to know what happens next in the series but I honestly had difficulty even finishing this book. I wouldn't actually recommend it to anyone.
Our heroine has been on the run since her mom was killed years ago. Now her protectors have arrived.
This book was a mixed bag in that it took a long time to get started and find its legs. The first half was spent on the run with heroine wondering why they were running, but not being strong enough to question her father. Finally, halfway in her guardians mysteriously appear and she grows a spine. From there, the story gets much more interesting and actually held my attention.
The writing was decent and, as mentioned above, improved as it went along. Likewise with the characters. I think the book could use a good edit, not for grammar, but for content. If the first half was cut down to about a chapter and our heroine made to act like an adult from the start, I think this would have been a really good story. As it was, it was a decent start, still interesting enough to get me interested in the next book, but only if the next book starts off better.
I do recommend giving it a try and see where it goes.

When I first picked up this book, I honestly thought I was going to get a quicky novel about a girl with powers, 4 hot guys for guardians and thought she was going to save the world in a matter of a few chapters with copious amounts of sex thrown in.
But to my happy surprise, that’s not what I got at all. I got a full novel about a girl on the run to keep her safe, rediscovering the life she lost and is slowly regaining. Ella, our main girl, has been on the run almost her life without truly knowing why but we learn it’s because she is the savior to another world called The Ether. To make matters worse, this is the first time that Ella is alive. She was killed before she could save the world, leaving behind the 5 guys who loved her, one of them dying in the process leaving them to be 4 now.
This story takes you on an emotional rollercoaster that makes you feel for the characters and keeps the story going. With every question answered, you get at least 3 more questions to think about. You’re just as lost as Ella and it only leaves you wanting to know more.
If you love a slow burn novel about magic, love and loss, then I recommend this book for you. You won’t regret it. I certainly don’t.

Even after five years, Ella Anderson was still having the same nightmare about the night “they” killed her mother. Not only were the nightmares getting worse, they were becoming more vivid with details. She and her dad kept moving around constantly to stay safe, never keeping friendships or doing the things a normal 20-year-old would be doing. Once again, he got “the feeling” and they started packing to leave. She was tired of running, but she trusted his judgment – and the pendant her mother had given her on the day she was murdered.
They got on the road and stopped for gas after a few hours. The clerk with his beady eyes followed her every movement. When her dad came in, he was staring at them both – and she would have sworn that the pendant gave her a tiny shock!
This is a well written, exciting book that I thoroughly enjoyed. From the first page, the action starts and keeps moving briskly through the rest of the story. A strange murder starts the pattern of Ella’s life – running constantly to keep her safe. When they finally get to a place that might give them more protection, she meets four strangers who add even more mystery! Don’t miss this book – it’s awesome and captivating! And there is more to come . . .

ONE INCREDIBLE ADVENTURE!!! Oh boy, talk about getting deep. In a whirlwind of emotions and events that seems to be riding on a category 4 hurricane winds. This is one wild rollercoaster ride with all the drama, intrigue, action packed, fast paced, hard hitting, smooth flowing, heart pounding, pulse racing, page turning thrill that makes for one electrifying experience. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few unexpected surprises around every corner that hold your attention and your rear frozen to your seat. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it really makes the storyline pop. Tensions ride an the plot thickens as the story unfolds. Belle did an amazing job bringing this read to life. Fantastic job Belle, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I can't wait to read more. This is book 1 of a new trilogy and I can't wait for the next book to come out.
Ella and her father have been on the run for several years now. They are still dealing with her mother's death as well. They finally make it to a place that they can settle down- Olsen. She meets four guys who she can't stay away from. Felix, Ari, Jasper and Gabriel are different than what they appear. Strange things are happening around her and no one is telling her the truth. The guys soon are protecting her from evil sources. What will happen when the truth is revealed and her life just gets more complicated?

This is not what I thought it would be....in a great way! This is fantasy/paranormal drama/thriller/love story all rolled up into one fabulous read. Ella and her father have been on the run for so long, so she thinks the reason she feels so different from her peers is that reason. Reality comes crashing down when they reach Olsen Bay and Ella is being stalked an four insanely handsome guys rescue her, appearing out of nowhere. She is attracted to all 4, but is confused as to why. As much as they want to keep her safe and in the dark, their secrets must come out. No spoilers...you need to read this to find out! I can't wait for book 2!!!
The storyline is definitely amazing and unique. I loved there was a lot of action throughout most of the story. There were times I felt it wasn’t as developed as it could have been and honestly it was just Ella’s character. She is an adult but at the beginning she made herself seem like a teenager. That drove me a little nuts. However, as the story progressed we see her growing. Yes, it does end in a cliffhanger but it is definitely worth reading. The support characters are extremely well developed and their personalities are felt throughout the story.

Elle's mother was killed years ago, and since then it seems she and her father have been on the run. She is close to turning 21, and deciding to have a life where she can actually have friends and be normal when they move to Olsen - and four handsome men enter her life, saying they are there to protect her. What secrets has her father been hiding for the whole of her life? Is she really from another and place, other than Earth? I loved this story as it untangled the twists of her past - and introduced hints of her future. A cliff hanger ending - I am really looking forward to the next book!

After her mother is murdered Ella and her father are on the run and have been for five years. She is over it and when they arrive in Olsen she is ready to plant her feet and make a life. Make friends, get a job, find out more about the four handsome stagers. When things start getting strange right off the bat she doesn’t want to elicit alarm for fear they would start running again. I struggled at times, Ella came off as a young teenager more than the adult she was. The writing and characters are well done. Mystery, intrigue, action, steam, it’s all there in the pages. I do have to know more so I will be snagging up book two.
Ella is tired of running and hiding and longs for a place to call home again. Not everything she knows is the truth. Will Ella accept the truth? Will she be able to help her men before it is to late?
Definitely liked the spin on this book that made it different then others. I liked the fact that little by little, Ella showed her strength and was willing to do what it took. Have to admit if I was her, I would have snapped a long time ago with no answers. Good read and cannot wait for the next in the series!

First time read for Ms. Belle Roberts and I am surprisingly impressed. This is not normally the type of book I usually read, non the less, I found myself engrossed in the storyline. I read it from cover to cover surprising even myself. I encourage all reader's with an open mind for the paranormal to give this Author and book a try. A great start to a new series is exactly what this compelling book is.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion and I truly did like it.
I cannot express how I feel about this book. It is one of the best! The story is well written and it's intriguing and keeps you on the edge of your seat (or bed) while reading it. The suspense and romance is breathtaking and you find yourself not being able to put it down. I read it in less than a day. The only thing I regret is that I have to wait for the other two books to come out to find out what happens and how it ends. This is truly amazing!

I was quite intrigued by this story. I really like how she has past lives with these four protectors but doesn't remember. I also like how she harvests energy and doesn't even know it. I like how her life was normal, or somewhat normal one minute and then turned upside down with the reality she was slapped with. I like the ongoing action and excitement in it. I can't wait to see what comes next for the girl and her protectors.

This is turning out to be a fantastic read! I love all the characters, the storyline, and the page turning goodness. She’s just had her whole world turned upside down and is going though some insane things while trying to find out what is really going on. Her “guardians” have her best interest at heart...and her heart in their hands. I cannot wait to see what’s next! I’m voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
I have to say that this wasn't one of my favorite books that I have read recently. I truly struggled to get through the book and definitely couldn't get into the characters of the story. When I read what the book was going to be about, it sounded very intriguing but in the end just wasn't for me. Now having said that, just because I didn't enjoy the book doesn't mean you won't. Please read all of the reviews as well as the authors synopsis if that is how you decide on your next read.
This book was so good. So much drama and action that had me sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next when I turned the page. Enjoyed the way the story was filled with twists and turns. The surprises thrown at us here and there made this a definite favorite book in my opinion. Belle Roberts, congrats on an awesome story that is rated 10 stars in my book!!!!!!

I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. Wow, if there is a perfect way to start a series - this book is it! The way Belle drip feeds you information as you read means it's an edge of your seat ride as you wait to find out who, what, why and especially where! (Makes sense once you read the book!) I can't wait for the next book to see where she's taking us!
I liked the premise of the story, however, there was something off about this book. I had a hard time getting into the story and could not get behind the main character. I found myself reading this and wishing the main character would react in different and more mature ways. It’s extremely difficult for me to not finish reading books, but I finally had to put this one down and give up.
I'm a bit on the fence about this one. It's pretty good, and has me interested in what's going to happen next. This book is unique. Nothing wrong with that. It's just some things in here that I didn't care for. Just like Ella, I'm confused and I have so many questions that weren't answered in this book.
I'm going to for sure read the next, and hope for answers.
I really enjoyed this fantasy read which had romance, action, guardians, and “feeders” of power and energy. Ella was the Special One which was kind of scary since she was so naive and gullible. The reverse harem situation actually came second to all the action. The reverse harem actually was treated differently from all of the others I have read. Great read!

Synergy: A Reverse Harem Fantasy Romance (The Ether Book 1) by Belle Roberts is a wonderful story that I loved reading very much. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series writen by a brand new author for me. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about fantasy and paranormal romances in their stories.

I tried really hard to finish this book just to find out the secret but I couldn't. I cannot stand when a female mc just lets the men make all the decisions and tell her she doesn't get to know any information about her life because it's not safe or she's not ready. Then she just says ok tell me later. I need a main character with a backbone and some integrity.
This is a fast-paced read with plenty of drama and suspense. Ella has been on the run with her dad after her mother’s murder. They end up in a small town where she meets 4 tall and handsome men that leave her captivated. When unexplainable magic happenings begin to occur what will happen to Ella? Entertaining read. Looking forward to more in the series.
I don’t write reviews a lot so when I do I know this book is good! Although it wasn’t very long which is what I usually prefer. It’s the way the author spread out the storyline was perfect nothing felt rushed or unexplained.
I have up after they told her they are all pretty much aliens. Not that I'm opposed to such stories, i devour them on a start duet, but this book didn't draw me in and once i hit the 59% mark and I was not interested in the story anymore.somewhere song the way the author lost me.
