LACE, a hot new standalone from New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author, Deborah Bladon.
Alexander Donato is the most annoying person I’ve ever met. The arrogant jerk thinks I should help him find the random woman he spent last night with. I don’t care if she took something that belonged to him. It doesn’t matter to me that he’s tall, gorgeous, and built for sin. I refuse to help a man like that with anything. Until I find out that there’s more to his story. There’s more to our story too. I’m not the kind of woman who falls for someone like Alexander, but truth be told, I’ve never met a man like him before.
Author’s Note: Although some characters from my previous books appear in LACE, you don’t have to read any of those to enjoy this breathtaking romance!
Deborah Bladon had never read a romance hero she didn't like. Her love for romance novels began when she was old enough to board the bus, library card in hand to check out the newest Harlequin paperbacks. She was a Canadian by heart, and by passport, but you could often spot her in New York City sipping a latte and looking for inspiration for her next story. Manhattan was definitely her second home.
She cherished her family and believed that each day was a gift for writing, for reading, and for loving.
I like the book very much so this is 4.5 stars. I just didn't like the reason for the angst between the two characters. It lacked imagination. (Imho) Otherwise, characters were very interesting and the writing overall is good.
I did not hate it... but also did not care at all about the story. Might be a case of « it’s not the book, it’s me » though. Also, the writing is very good.
Another amazing story! Loved every minute of Olivia and Alexander's story. It starts with cocky and arrogant playboy Alexander Donayo trying to track down a one night stand in a lingerie store. Here he meets Olivia, who does not give in to his demands, but understands his reasoning, so she does something that will forever change their trajectory going forward. It was all about the chase for Alexander, he knew what he wanted now he just needed to convince Olivia. I loved the moments with his nephew, they were so special. Once I saw this side of Alexander, I was sold.
Their sexual chemistry was undeniably hot and even though Olivia was hesitant, once she really let herself be in the moment, you could feel how strong and special their bond was becoming. I really enjoyed their journey and would highly recommend. I was fortunate enough to receive an arc of this book and this is my honest review.
Deborah wrote another amazing love story! Lace is a very sweet, easy read. Alexander Donato is guest conducting at the New York Philharmonic. It's a great gig since his sister and nephew live in Queens. Music is his passion but woman come a close second. But! Being a ladies man can have it's pitfalls as a one night stand steals something from him he desperately needs back. Olivia Hull has worked for Liore Lingerie since she was 19 years old, working her way up the ladder has been rewarding. She has an unexpected introduction to Alex and although he is handsome he come off as arrogant and pushy! Being the nice person she is, she goes out of her way to help him out of a jam. Alexander has never had to chase a woman or work so hard to get a woman in his bed. Olivia fears that once she lets Alex in he will be there to stay!
Olivia meets Alexander when he storms into the lingerie boutique she is working at and demands to know who bought a pair of panties. His one night stand left them behind and took his autographed jersey that was supposed to be a gift foe his nephew. She all be tosses him out but when he tells her why he is so upset she decides to help. After her cousin is the person who’s jersey he had. She doesn’t want to take any credit for what happens, let’s just say it goes a little about just replacing the jersey. But Alexander figures it out and soon he is taken with her. She doesn’t just jump into bed with him because she has standards and she really isn’t sure she even likes him. But of course it’s up and down and a HEA at the end.
A wonderful romantic story. Two souls not looking for love collide when fate guides them together. Alexander a good looking music conductor who is never in relationships for long meets kind hearted Olivia when a precious signed ball players shirt gets stolen from his home by a one night stand, Olivia whose cousin is the baseball player replaced the shirt which is a gift for a 10 year old boy. Love blossoms from that moment and leads them on the road to discovery of what loving someone means. It is a lovely romantic story with some hot sex thrown in.
Alexander is intense, passionate, demanding and loving. He’s also a bit intimidating at times. He’s an amazing uncle, brother and friend. Olivia is loving, compassionate and determined. She’s an amazing cousin and friend. These two are an explosion of chemistry and the story wraps you up. Deborah does an excellent job once again with these two lovebirds but also each of the characters pull you in as well.
There’s something magical about Deborah Bladon’s writing. She draws me in and keeps me hanging on to her every word. Lace has all the drama without the angsty feels. I loved Olivia’s independence. Her career is important to her but will it change her future? Or will a certain someone show her that she can have romance too. Outstanding!
Beautifully written, amazing characters, pent-up feelings, twists and bumps on the road to HEA...as usual, Deborah Bladon has given her readers engaging, entertaining and silky smooth reads while her characters love lives are not without challenges. I voluntarily read a free ebook and this is my honest review,
Chance meeting, connection without a doubt, even though Olivia doesn't realize one has been made. Alexander, makes attempt after attempt to find a certain someone who graciously helped him out. Beautiful story, emotional, so loved their connection.💖. Enjoy!
I always love Deborah Baldon’s book. She knows how to weave words together to keep me captivated. This is my second book I’ve finished in 1 day. Once I start I simply can’t stop.
Deborah Bladon is one of my favorite authors and with Lace she got it right once again! Alexander and Olivia's story tugged at my heart strings. As always I cannot wait for the next book Ms. Bladon offers!
Another fantastic book by Deborah Bladon. This follows the story of Olivia and Alexander, who meet in a very unusual way. It follows their getting to know each other to their romance with some bumps along the way
Deborah is always broading her universe... I love the way characters connect. Sometimes the connection is suttle and sometimes it is strong... however, her characters are always loaded up with charisma. Another hit.
I know that is what I say for all of Ms. Bladon's books, but it's true. Olivia and Alexander were amazing. I hope one day Alvin and Skylar have their own happily ever after. As always....Enjoy!!!!
I thought this was a little strange as far as the storyline and I didn't like that she had to go to him in the end a little predictable but I guess it was a good read
I enjoy this one because the lady held out. Loved the fact she had control. I Will be check out the other characters, now that I've had a little preview to those characters!
I can never get enough of the HEAs crafted by Bladon! This is yet another book that I couldn't put down from the day I started reading the first written words.
