Propositioning Love

He thought I was a hooker. I thought he was a nice guy giving me a ride home…

We were both wrong.

Bryce Ericsson is not a nice guy. He’s a ruthless billionaire with a penchant for snapping up failing companies and completely gutting them.

Unfortunately, I had no clue who he was when I got in his car and spent the hottest night of my life with him.

When he walks into my office the next day, announcing he’s the new owner of the company I work for, I’m pretty sure I’m going to be fired.

Then he makes me an offer I can’t refuse.

They say money can’t buy you love…

Or can it?

I think it takes a certain book to make you think, it’s time to distressingly break a record, peel my sandy eyes from the pages and call it quits. It has to be a painfully hot day on Earth for me to make the decision to stop reading a book. Honestly, it’s a personal, unabating, prayer-like ritual for me to take the time to give every book some love, investment and appreciation by always making it to the final page…It’s a very bad sign if you see me, dedicator to all books till the final word, a cover-to-cover aficionado, stop midway into any book…

In the nicest possible way, I have to ask…what did readers see in this book? I genuinely ask because I didn’t see it.

I don’t think that the ultimate purpose of any singular book should be a strive for the extraordinary. Nor do I think that every author should approach their work thinking that it’ll be a masterpiece in the making. Ordinary books are fantastic for our very ordinary lives. Sometimes I just want a trashy book. Sometimes I want something low-key and petal-soft sweet. Sometimes just a downright fest of abrasive affection twined with suspenseful footing. Sometimes I want drama and chaos and epic tension. Sometimes I want the flavours of fantasy or the burn of romance. Sometimes I want a delicious anti-hero or a naughty-talking alpha. Sometimes I want a story that I know I’ll like, it doesn’t have to be extraordinary. Not in the in the slightest. But it does have to be good.

Most authors write because it’s a passion-filled catharsis to bleed onto some pages. To try their hand in sharing novel ideas in the hopes that readers like will see something of value. It’s a labour of love shared between writer and writing. Then it becomes a triangular love affair when a reader enters the fray. But not every book is for every reader. Not every piece is meant to wow, sometimes just meant to shake up the spirit, to pass the day, to make you feel good. This book? It didn’t do any of that…at all.

Propositioning Love by Izzy Sweet was, to me, a very a poorly written, one-dimensional read with a toneless and very uninteresting writing style. The set-up has no real substance and it just went downhill from there. With juvenile writing and tedious main characters this story was a disjointed and abstract approach to storytelling. I’m surprised that I felt this way as I’ve read from Sweet before and actually liked the story…

Bryce picks up Zoe thinking she’s a prostitute…my question? How on earth did he even come to that conclusion? Zoe also doesn’t do herself any favours either. She has no sense of will or sense, just accepts whatever comes her way or what Bryce throws her way because, of course, weak-kneed kisses are the way to coerce this girl into saying yes…And Bryce? He’s supposed to be a person who’s exhausted by the grind and graft of hollow work. I don’t even think he’s ever been in a long-term relationship but decides that Zoe is his other half after one night together. Then he becomes singularly obsessed with thoughts of Zoe carrying his baby despite not knowing her. I don’t mind insta-love. But this came off as so very unrealistic, unreliable and wait for it…unbelievable!

This was one of those books that you don’t need to finish to know that it won’t get better…as sorry as I am I had to jump off this plane mid-flight. I have no idea what this book was trying to do and what it was trying to be, but it hit me in all the wrong places. Not one for reading pleasure.

I tried, I tried, but good books are hard to find :(

Trigger Warning: Sex scenes (unprotected sex too folks despite Bryce thinking Zoe is a prostitute) swearing, harassment in the work place, assault.

“I’m going to spend the rest of my fucking life knocking you up.”
My hands clutch and claw at his shoulders as his body drives into my body. The pleasure that spikes through me is so strong I’m seeing stars.
“You’re so fucking beautiful,” he groans. “But you’ll be even more beautiful when you’re swelling with my child.”

"Propositioning Love" is the story of Zoe and Bryce.

So, was I the only one who missed these well written eroticas with hot sex, breeding and some lactation fetish? If you did too, welcome to this book where there are drunk one night stands which lead to misunderstandings, propositions, sexathons, drama and HEA. We have an alpha hero who is obsessed, a sassy heroine who is confused, loads of banging and dirty talk which keeps us entertained. The whole prostitute confusion was legit eyes-shall-roll-into-the-anus level cringe, but all's well that ends well.

Bryce decided to find someone for the night to end his celibacy vow, and it just so happened that Zoe was running away from someone, and she flagged his car. For some unknown reason, Bryce stopped, and he took Zoe. He thought she was a prostitute, so he brought her to his penthouse. They spent the night, but Zoe left the next day. After their ONS, Bryce felt something for the first time, and he promised to find Zoe and make her his. He was mad at her disappearing act, but when he went to the new company that he had acquired, he was surprised to see Zoe there.

He thought that her salary wasn't enough; that's why she's working as a prostitute as well. He called her to his office and offered 300K to be with him for the next 30 days. She reluctantly agreed, and that's where the fun starts.

The story was insta-lust, then became insta-love. I think everything happened within days. Bryce was desperate to have Zoe in whichever way possible, hence the monetary offer. But Zoe was in it because she's feeling something more for him despite knowing him for a short amount of time.

Bryce's misunderstanding of Zoe's other job backfired on around 75% of the book. When her asshole boss tried to sexually assault her in the pantry and called her a whore, Bryce didn't defend her in front of everyone because he thought of her just the same. For someone so smart, he really is stupid not to see the glaring signs that she's not a sex worker.

Zoe got hurt and ran away, but Bryce followed her immediately and apologized for being a dumbass. She forgave him so quickly, and I don't know what to feel about that.

Anyway, the epilogue was three months later; they're married and pregnant.

Overall, I guess this was an okay read, until the conflict. If I were Zoe, I don't think I'd be able to forgive Bryce immediately. It was humiliating to be accused of something you're not doing in front of everyone. He said he would protect her, yet he didn't speak out for her. I know he thought she was a sex worker, but that doesn't mean he should allow anyone to speak to her that way or to treat her like she doesn't deserve respect.

Anyway, he pissed me off with the last part of the book. I actually liked him the majority of the time, but the way he reacted ruined him for me. I don't really need a weak MMC who won't stand against anything or anyone who's going to hurt his girl. This would've been a solid 4 ⭐ but Bryce stupidity lowered my rating.

When your boss picks you up and thinks your a high class hooker.. 😂😂😂😂😂

Now you read that right lol Zoe and friends are celebrating their "we might be fired lets party" as she leaves the club and being harrassed by some stranger she jumps into a car thinking he's her cab/lyft/Uber driver he isnt.

Bryce was looking for some company since he hasn't gotten laid in a year and ends up thinking Zoe is a hooker.. well atleast he asked her if she had Rules safety first.. 😂😂 their night turns hot and heavy and has Zoe leaving to get to work and Bryce pissed that she's missing he has some feelings for Zoe. And when they Spot eachother at work and Bryce is her new boss things go CABOOM!!! But that misunderstanding pops up.. And when it happens.. drama happens. Some grovling is happening. And I enjoyed that Bryce did say sorry for his misunderstanding. And grovel more it was kinda funny how he didn't put the clues together.

This book y’all… it was so good and a good palate cleanser.
1st- these two authors are always a hit for me. Anything I see with other of their names just sucks me in and doesn’t let me go. They have protective, possesive alphas and I always love it.

This story is funny bc as it starts Zoe is waiting for her Uber on a dark corner, while a creepy dude is trying to get closer to her. She is trying to keep stepping away from him, and here comes Bryce rounding the corner in his car. She waves him down, she pretends it’s her ride to get rid of the creepy dude and he lets her get in assuming she’s a prostitute… now normally that not something he would do but as soon as he saw her out of his windshield while she was flagging him down, he was into her. And so the story goes from what they think is a one night stand, to more… the whole time he’s thinking she’s a prostitute and she has no clue just thinking he’s a rich guy looking to get laid. Lol it’s kinda funny how it’s never addressed so their both speaking around it and neither catches the truth lol. But it’s Instalove and steamy and delicious.

The things:
-Instalove
- H is possessive (she’s mine, I want her knocked up) and protective. (I usually love a JP H but there is no jealous aspect here but I’m not missing it bc he’s written so perfect. As poss and protective)
-BOTH haven’t been with anyone in a while..(H-2 years & h- 1 year)
-Office romance: I mean he’s her new boss, but really it’s not centered around that. But there is some office steamy times lol.
-H is a rich businessman who takes over the company where the b works. Known to be heartless and calculating in his works.
-h is a viral manager for her company and is smart.
-small OM drama but has just a creepy coworker and it’s basically the “drama of the story”
-steamy
- he wants to knock her up like instantly and I love it lol.

I was jazzed to find this Izzy sweet and Sean moriarty book since I loved their mafia (?) books. She calls for a Uber and waiting on the street and he’s trolling for a hooker for the night. Good grovel and fun jealous scenes!

Really enjoyed this story! It's not very realistic, but it sure left a big smile on my face when I was done. If you liked Izzy's book Letting Him In you'll like this one, too.

I felt like this book blurb was a bait and switch. We're told he is a ruthless billionaire.

Nope. SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

They spend a night together, she thinks it's a hook up and sneak out the next morning. He's upset and wanted more. Turns out she's an employee at the company he just acquired.

So he immediately offers her money to be his woman for the next 30 days. Every moment she's not working. They move in together after 2 nights. He tries to get her pregnant on the second night and didn't use a condom the first night either.

Basically he immediately wanted to get her pregnant and marry her. Even thinking she's a prostitute. He had no reason to think that except she was standing on a street corner waiting for her ride from the app to pick her up.

I still liked the book but he didn't seem ruthless at all.

This book was insane and not in the good way. Dude is too possessive for it to be healthy relationship and the girl is just like “yeah sure put cameras in the bathroom and knock me up two days after meeting but mistake me for a prostitute and I will run away and cry!”

Tropes: failed one night stand, boss/employee, miscommunication, insta love
Feels: 2/5
Steam*: 3/5
Kinks: kind of an impregnation kink
Angst: low
HEA: yes
Pairing: MF
Triggers/potential icks/content warnings: douchebag ex, sexual harassment, assault, unsafe sex

This book was my first read after having read and loved God of Fury by Rina Kent. I knew nothing was going to compare so I didn't want to read one of the books on my TBR that I was really invested in liking. Stumbled across this on tiktok and decided to give it a go.

2 stars rounded up because I'm feeling generous knowing that I'm probably biased to dislike this book, because nothing can compare well after God of Fury

Zoe works in marketing. Her company was just bought out after a massive company scandal and publicity nightmare by a company that is well known for massive layoffs after their takeovers. Knowing the next day she is likely to be fired, and being 75,000 in debt from her ex who ran up massive credit card debt in her name, she is in a fragile state. She goes out drinking that night and gets pretty wasted. After leaving the bar she gets in a bit of a dangerous situation with someone on the streets and gets picked up by the MMC Bryce confusing him with her cab that she's ordered. She realizes pretty quick that the car is too nice and he's too well dressed to be a cab driver but she's desperate to get away from the scary guy on the street. Bryce confuses things and thinks she's a prostitute and hits on her because he's really attracted. She is drunk and attracted to him too so she decides to go with him back to his place, thinking it's just a regular hookup, no idea he thinks she's a hooker.

They have a great night. She sneaks out in the morning. And then at work the next day guess who her new boss is? It's Bryce. He has fallen in insta obsession with her and decides to try to buy more time with her. The rest of the book until the epilogue spans just a couple days really. In that time this couple is hit hard with insta love, Bryce instantly wants to knock her up and marry her.

I wasn't terribly impressed with the book. It was a bit of a fun premise but Bryce was just too dumb and impulsive to be unbelievable cutthroat businessman or an admirable MMC. There were so many signs that she wasn't a hooker and he just ignored them. And he made stupid impulsive business decisions. And it was really the bad type of insta love where it was just nonsensical that they would be feeling the way they were, kind of cringe-worthy. There were a couple typos. And him spying on her with cameras was icky and creepy, and him telling her about them in advance doesn't make it any less creepy.

*FYI about steam: I rate steam based on a combination of quality & quantity. I note kink separate from steam because I don't want to underrate steamy reads that don't have much kink.

**Note about spoilers: I like to comment on the plot of a book in reviews, so I almost always mark my reviews as containing spoilers. But I try to avoid spoiling the big dramatic moments! As a reader, I personally like to know what I'm getting into before I read a book so I know more about the content and if it's to my taste/mood, so I try to give that information in my reviews for myself when I'm considering rereading and also for other readers.

I thought the cover of the book looked interesting and it was a free Amazon book so I figured I’d give it a try.

All-in-all it’s was a stupid, mindless read, but I did enjoy getting lost in the ridiculousness despite the complete and utterly unrealistic story line. For whatever reason (maybe because it was so short) I still finished the book… but the low rating is really because I didn’t enjoy Bryce’s chapters obsessing about ‘owning’ Zoe and it was pretty possessive which I dislike…. And Zoe had no personality and backbone.

Read this based on a rec from a Facebook group and it did not disappoint. Fun, quick paced read that gave me some of my favorite tropes. The premise definitely gives off some Pretty Woman vibes (one of my favorite movies so I'm not complaining lol) but with some major differences. If you read the synopsis you already know Zoe is definitely not a hooker and is horrified to find out her one night stand is now her boss. Bryce on the other hand couldn't be happier. Having woken up to realize the woman who gave him the best night of his life has snuck off, his foul mood only grows as he enters his newly acquired business, prepared to fire most of the employees...only to see Zoe there instead. He may be there for his new business, but he's not walking out of the office without making her his once and for all.

If you love insta love romance mixed with a case of mistaken identity and a hot H who's obsessed with claiming the h and putting a baby in her belly than this book is definitely for you.

This was a sweet and steamy romance and I absolutely loved it! Bryce is a bored, jaded billionaire, who ruthlessly buys and sells floundering companies, usually tearing them apart from the inside out and rebuilding them. This involves callously firing most of its employees.

Zoe is one of those employees. She is out at a bar one night drowning her sorrows on her more than likely termination when she goes for a walk outside. Bryce picks her up on a street corner, unknowingly thinking she is a working girl, while Zoe is trying to get away from a shady character. This isn't something Bryce normally does, but Zoe intrigues him. What starts out as a one night thing becomes something so much more as Bryce falls hard and fast for Zoe. She, however, disappears the next morning, feeling billionaire Bryce is so far out of her realm.

So, what happens when Bryce, who is none too happy Zoe left him, finds that she is one of the employees he was originally planning to fire? Offer her a lot of money to spend 30 days (and nights!) with him in order to get her to fall in love with him!

This book was awesome! I absolutely loved Bryce, who instantly fell for Zoe. He was growly and intimidating to everyone else, but with Zoe, he was so jealously, possessively MINE, MINE, MINE. And the smex scenes were hot!! 🔥 Both characters were likeable and the plot moved along at a good pace.

The other thing I loved was that Bryce had been so into Zoe and she has been so into him that he has forgotten that first night they were together to use protection. But instead of being horrified the next day, he was excited about the possibility that she could have possibly gotten pregnant. And once they get together, he does everything he can to make that desire a reality, which he soon has Zoe on board with making a family.

So, if you love jealous, possessive men who want to get their woman pregnant, read this book! Definitely recommend!!

Series of unfortunate events? Propositioning Love blew my mind. This book is so much more than just a simple romance novel. There are layers and layers that make up this story. Add in the dynamic characters and over the top heat and you have an amazing book.
The plot of this book intrigued me. A boss/employee romance? I don’t really read those, but even from the blurb I knew this was going to be a little different. I am so glad I gave it a shot. This book’s plot is way more than just a romance. This book tackles some tough topics and unfortunate circumstances. I really liked the theme about assumptions and what they make you.
Zoe is such a quirky character. I liked her fire and tenacity. Even though she made some questionable decisions, I still admired her strength. Then you have Bryce. He is the epitome of alpha male. His reputation for being ruthless precedes him. What I really liked about him was his inner thoughts. What he puts out is not everything that is him.
The chemistry between these two is immediate. It would have to be for the way they started out. From the blurb, I wasn’t sure what I was going to get when it came to their first meeting. Let me tell you I didn’t expect what I got. It was shocking, but so unique and amazing. Add in the hot physical action they get and this is perfect.
The writing style of this book is great. The story is told from a dual point of view. The pace of the story is steady. These two characters have their own motivations, but it was amazing to see how they each fit with each other. I also liked the minor characters. They added to the story, but didn’t overshadow everyone else.
In conclusion, I really enjoyed this book. The characters were wonderful. The story was amazingly written. I would recommend this book to others.

2.5 stars

I liked the beginning but then it got boring and even annoying near the ending.

They knew each other for maybe a week and suddenly they can't stand to be separated for a few days. That works for me when the book is no more that 70 pages long, and here it didn't work.
And I got so annoyed with the heroine when Chad attacked her and she just stood there and let Bry defend her. Defend yourself!! He can help you and stand by your side but you should fight your own battles. And then she gets offended when Chad calls her a whore. Well, in a way, she was a whore so she had no right to get offended. Bry paid to'own her, which included sex, and whores get paid for sex, so I'd say she was one. And then she says she can't be with a man who pays for sex, but he basically paid her for sex. She wanted to sleep with him and he paid for other things, but he still paid. So she had no reason to be all judgy and acting high and mighty when she wasn't any better than them. And why does it matter if he pays or not. He's rich, he can afford quality ones, so I don't see what the problem is, especially since they never used protection. And, in the epilogue, they made such a big deal of her being pregnant as if this whole book wasn't about them making a baby. Which reminded me that he didn't use a condom when he thought she was a prostitute, which I didn't like.

Okay, so I'm giving it a full star because I love the "we fucked and then surprise! he's my new [insert authority figure title here]" trope. I'm giving it half of a star because I enjoyed the smut and another half of a star because I did actually like the characters.

That being said !!

What the HELL is going on?

This book felt like a rough outline with some parts fleshed out and most of it still in the story board phase. Like?? It's a thirty day contract but we get like a week and a half from page one to the epilogue? Really disturbed that he had a camera in the bathroom without her knowing; I found that far more disturbing than I do endearing.

Also... He leaves town for a week and there are cameras in the penthouse and we don't even get a scene where she makes herself O while he watches?? We were robbed.

I just... It genuinely felt like I was reading someone's mildly fleshed out book summary.

Also... Even after he found out she worked for this company he STILL thought, "Ah yes... But she moonlights as a lady of the night." He never once thought, "Hm... Maybe I've misread the situation."

Also for "ruthless businessman", he really wasn't that ruthless.

That being said... I still didn't hate it completely. It was a decent cleanser in a junk food type of way and an easy, fast read.

ONE EXTREMELY COMBUSTIBLE READ!!!
Wow! Talk about burning the midnight oil. This is one exciting, action packed, nailbiting, nerve racking, heart pounding, pulse racing, gut wretching, page turning tale that's as riveting as it is captivating. A whirlwind of emotions and events that really pulls those heartstrings. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few unexpected surprises and unpredictable circumstances make for one incredible experience. The drama, heartache, misunderstanding and suspense increases steadily as the tension spirals while the plot thickens. The two main characters had an undeniable connection, explosive and intense chemistry. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it really pulls this bad boy together beautifully. The characters are complex and believable along with individuality. The scenes are so graphic and detailed it's easy to picture each scenario as they play off one another perfectly. These two authors really know how to draw your attention and hold it the entirety of this awesome storyline. Remarkable job guys, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

I should have asked her about being a prostitute, and how she could ever do something like that to herself. I want to know why she has so little respect for her own person.

The judgment around sex workers in this book is truly disgusting. Our mmc talks so much shit yet he has no bounds with the “I paid for you. I own you,” mentality. And he repeatedly brings it up and reminds our fmc that she made an agreement and she is as good as paid for.

Despite everything that’s stacked against us, I know these things we feel for each other are genuine. And thus, I can’t talk to Clara because I don’t need her logic and reason right now.
Our fmc is weak. She doesn't stand up for herself. Her hormones run her life. And what's worse, her hormones are the only thing the authors use to move this story along. Our mmc is not sexy. Everything he does is extremely unsexy. AND I SAY THIS AS SOMEONE WHO LOOOVES A BREEDING KINK TROPE. But his audacity and attitude was so fucking annoying. The fmc just folded every time. There was no backbone.

Zoe is out at a bar with her friend and some co-workers drinking because they may be fired the next day by the new owner of the company. Zoe's current boss tries to harass her so she leaves the bar and takes off walking to a side street to call for a car. Bry is standing by a building when he is stunned by Zoe and offers her a ride. He thinks she's a prostitute but he doesn't care he just wants to be with her for the night. The next morning Zoe quietly leaves his place so she can go get ready for work. Bry isn't happy when he wakes and she's gone but he really isn't happy when he discovers she works at the new company he just bought. What will Bry do about Zoe working there? What will Zoe do when she learns he this she's a prostitute?

This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This is my 1st read and review for these two authors and it’s such a fantastic fun story. I had such a laugh when Bryce picked Zoe up and he thought that she was a prostitute, isn’t that like a man always making the wrong assumptions lol. But then Zoe thought that Bryce was a Uber driver until the next day at work when she finds out that he is her boss, talk about getting your wires crossed. Bryce saw Zoe at work the next day and he still thought that she was a prostitute and when Zoe found out she was really hurt so Bryce had a lot of making up to do. I loved these characters and I liked how Bryce gets protective of Zoe especially when she is harassed at work by another man, Zoe is his. I will be looking out for more from these two authors especially if their other books are like this one it’s amazing. A fantastic story a 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

This was a fun read but there were a few typos I am hoping they will be corrected by the time the final book goes out.

Zoe is out with her workmates commiserating as their company has been bought out and there is a pretty good chance they will all lose their jobs When her boss hasles her she decides to head home She is waiting for her uber when Bryce has to come to her rescue he thinks she is a prostitute she thinks he is her uber. When the ride turns to a super hot night of passion they are both surprised Next morning Zoe sneaks out to get ready for work and to learn her fate Bryce is a little grumpy when he wakes to find her gone Imagine his surprise when he goes to the new business he has just bought and finds her there. So begins a sexual rampage between these two as they try to keep their affair secret and save the company but is it becoming much more than an affair. You will need to read to see what happens between these two
