Llyfr o gyfres Amdani, i ddysgwyr Lefel Canolradd. Nofel ysgafn am ddyn sy'n syrthio mewn cariad â'i diwtor. Mae Liam yn newydd i ddosbarth Marged ym mis Medi. Ar yr wyneb mae'n hollol wahanol i'w diwtor Cymraeg. Er gwaetha'r gwahaniaeth oed mae carwriaeth yn datblygu rhwng y ddau, a Marged yn wynebu creisus tipyn mwy cymhleth na sut i gyflwyno treigladau... A book for Welsh learners, Intermediate Level. A light-hearted novel about a man who falls in love with his Welsh tutor. Liam is the newby in his Welsh language class, and before long he starts to develop feelings for his tutor, Marged....
I honestly didn't expect to like this as much as I did.
I'm not sure if this piece has gone through some revisions or if there was an earlier edition, but the description on Amazon (other book stores are available) was a bit misleading. For a start, 'Marged' is called Liz. I'm not sure if there was once a different plot too or had once been written from Liam's perspective, because it's not really about him or this . And I actually prefer it that way; everyone in this story is some degree of terrible, but there's some degree of sympathy for them too. This is a book that would've suited a full novel format, in my opinion, but your mileage may vary as to how much you can stomach of Dilwyn and Sara.
This is recommended at Uned 8 of Canolradd - I'm currently at that level, and while I struggled in places the geirfa was well-chosen and useful. I had it finished within a few hours once I sat down with it. A lot of Liam's dialogue is in English with the odd Welsh word as he's a Mynediad student (and Liz responds as such). Worth having the GPC app or similar within reach for the odd word or two.
