I’m so happy this author decided to continue on with Cree & Dawn’s story! Cree has and will always be my favourite Highlander hero.

This story was so sweet and amazing. Can’t see what more is to come for these two!

Another great Cree and Dawn story. I love this couple. Though I have wondered how a great War Laird, who is greatly feared, always has a mysterious murderer in his village? Oh well, I still love the books and I'm always a fan of Donna Fletcher.

In a nutshell, if I had to describe what's wrong with this, I'd say that it had a great premise and buildup, but then when Cree and Dawn are finally back together...it kind of seems like the author lost the thread of the plot, and just had to keep hedging and stalling in order to make the word count of the book longer.

Yeah, that's never a good feeling to have about a book, is it?

Ahem, anyway, the momentum is built up high from the beginning of the book, wherein Cree thinks Dawn is dead and the only reason he's still alive is because he has the twins to think about. However, Cree is very much changed inside, becoming more of the coldhearted bastard that he was before he met Dawn, and taking out his anger first on his warriors and then on a wooden post--that needs to be replaced daily by the way.

Anyways, thankfully very quickly the author brings these two together, with it being revealed that Dawn did not as a matter of fact die, but was instead taken away from the village via a plot. She fought to make it back to Cree, and though it took them three months apart, things should be back to normal now, right?

Well, er, considering the lovely dynamic between these characters until now, I really wish that things were back to normal, but unfortunately it doesn't seem that way. Cree keeps "holding himself back" so as not to force the bedroom situation on Dawn, and Dawn spends a good deal of time in the story just recuperating, and then each of them spend some time talking to others and interacting with their children. While this is sweet and all though, because they don't (finally!) jump back into bed together until the 53% mark, it...well, it didn't feel like I was reading their story, the same as before. I mean, that's what I liked so much about Highlander Unchained and Forbidden Highlander: the back-and-forth between action scenes and love scenes, and how they'd always manage to sneak in quick poke no matter what.

But, alas, they've both just mellowed out, and while I suppose it makes sense for them to have changed this way in the context of the story, the larger part of me just regrets wanting to give this a try.

Moving forward...I'm not sure that I want to continue on with the series, and therefore I'll just stick to Books 1, 2, and 3 for reading in the future. I gave it a chance, and...that's it, really.

My Highlander- A Cree &Dawn Novel
Cree & Dawn séries book 4
by Donna Fletcher

Once again Donna Fletcher did an outstanding job with this highly anticipated Cree & Dawn novel!
Cree had a difficult time getting used to the fact that Dawn was dead, he became very angry and bitter and wouldn’t tolerate much of anyone except for his twins. They are a reminder of the woman he loved and loves with an all consuming love.
Every night for the past three months he relives the moment he was told of her death.
Until a huge dog appears and leads him to the one person he never thought to see again!
Dawn has a story to tell but until she heals completely the questions that are consuming Cree will have to wait, he senses that Dawn is hiding or feeling reluctant in telling him everything, she knows his temper and is fearful of what he’ll do.
Dawns not prepared to see the secret she's been hiding arrive at their keep!
Will the unfolding events create a rift in their love? Or will Cree accept what Dawn reveals to him? And who is Tarass? And how does he know Dawn?
An intriguing plot with page turning action keep the reader glued to every word.
The mystery keeps you on edge as well as the mysterious men that make their appearance.
I trully recommend this series! You’ll never be disappointed in Donna Fletchers storytelling she’s a master at her craft!
Can’t wait to read her next masterpieace!

I recieved a complimentary copy from the author. This is my honest unbiased opinion.

I never get tired of reading about the love story between Cree and Dawn. Their story is one of my absolute favorites and I love that this author has written more than one book about their love. She has such a talent for being able to give this couple so many different adventures in their life together. Cree’s over the top love for Dawn and his absolute need to keep her safe is engrained in him no matter what or where he is and I love it! This story starts with a grab you by the heartstrings beginning and a page turning ride throughout the whole book. I couldn’t put it down until the end. This author has once again made me smile knowing that two of my favorite characters have their happy ever after. When Dawn’s character was first introduced I didn’t know if I would like a heroine who couldn’t speak but this author has done a fantastic job with this. She has woven conversations for Dawn so smoothly you forget she can’t speak. Dawn has actually become one of my favorites and Cree, as a hero is perfect. If you haven’t read the Cree and Dawn books, check them out, as they are some of the best Highlander stories out there. I thoroughly enjoyed this new chapter for Cree and Dawn!

My Highlander by Donna Fletcher
A Cree & Dawn Novel Book Four
Cree and Dawn's happily-ever-after gets interrupted. Deeply in love and with a set of twins, a son and daughter, life was great. Until it wasn't.

After Dawn is presumed drowned, Cree only survives for their bairns. And then barely survives. When Dawn is found to be alive and her disappearance an abduction, life goes on pause until they can find out who wanted her abducted.

Many other situations happen in their village as well. Murders, mysterious visitors, and more. Great characters and story-lines. The author does a wonderful job of bringing a voice to Dawn, who was born a mute.

My Highlander by Donna Fletcher is book 4 in the Cree & Dawn Series. This continues the story of Cree and Dawn so I think to fully enjoy this book you should read the previous. With that said, Ms. Fletcher's writing is such that will allow you to read this as a standalone book.
Cree is dealing with the loss of Dawn and looking to find out all that he can to take action. Feelings are running high. Ms. Fletcher adds a service dog to this story which just added to the warm feelings I have for this couple and writer. Cree and Dawn are one of my favorite book couples so of course I wanted to read this book.
Loved this book and series!!

Super special

I’ve always loved Cree & Dawn; I absolutely love that a seemingly disabled, voiceless woman is so well heard. In a forum with the author I suggested she somehow write a “service” dog in to help Dawn when a “voice” is critically needed. I’m happy to say, she met & exceeded the challenge! How wonderful & special our dogs are! Specifically, the ones who love & “serve” us so faithfully. If you’re a fan, you’ll be so thrilled; if you’re new to this series-I still think you’ll enjoy, but I’d recommend going back & reading prior books.

Dawn and Cree back. Always a treat. I gave a 4 because some details were vague and more editing was needed. Otherwise, the new character were interesting.. Tarrass and James Macardle need their own stories. More about the twins would also be welcome. Overall the story had intrigue mystery and some tough realities. loved it.

4/5 ⭐

I love this couple!!! I loved the first books, but I got tired of it being more of the same, I loved those moments they had as a family and especially that ending that the old mary said, it was beautiful and exciting. I just hope she already leaves Dawn alone, enough of wanting to kill her, it's tired haaha.
Well, I loved the end.

I am moved

I expected to find that there had been much exaggeration about the emotional content of this book- however, I found myself very engrossed in every emotional event, good or bad. What a heartwarming tale.....

Dawn and Cree have really matured and I'm glad to see them thrive in this book. The elements of unsolved problems and secrets abound and it made the book so much more intriguing. The twins are adorable. I do wish we saw Wintra and Torr but nonetheless, an enjoyable read.

I have the worst time when I read a Cree & Dawn novel, only because I can’t put the book down. Donna Fletcher has written another well rounded story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I laughed and cried, mostly laughed especially at the mischievous characters. Great story!
