Mount Sinai in Arabia: The True Location Revealed

Rate this book
Mount Sinai in Arabia presents a clear case in laymen’s terms for the true location of Mount Sinai.

Mount Sinai is the very place where God’s presence was revealed in “a blazing fire” (Hebrews 12:18). This is the mountain where Elijah fled to and heard the “still small” voice of God (1 Kings 19). It is also likely the place where Paul the apostle traveled to shortly after his conversion experience to receive a fuller revelation of his gospel from heaven. It is a mountain that is literally drenched with divine history. So where is Mount Sinai?

The debate over where the true Mount Sinai is located goes back thousands of years. Since the popularization of the view that Jebel al-Lawz in Saudi Arabia is the real location by American explorers Ron Wyatt, Bob Cornuke and Jim and Penny Caldwell, the debate has only raged all the more. Join New York Times bestselling author and internationally recognized teacher Joel Richardson as he explores the many reasons why this controversial location is by far the best candidate for the true “Mountain of God.”

With the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia presently building a mega-city known as Neom around this ancient mountain, Mount Sinai in Arabia highlights the many reasons why Jebel al-Lawz is by far the best candidate to be the true “Mountain of God.”

Complete with more than fifty full-color photographs and maps Mount Sinai in Arabia looks at

the biblical evidence for Mount Sinai being in the land of Midian; mount Sinai in ancient Jewish, Christian, and Islamic traditions; the evidence that Paul journeyed to Mount Sinai; the discovery of Moses’ altar and the golden calf altar; a massive split rock located near Jebel al-Lawz; Egyptian-like petroglyphs depicting cows; paintings of archers guarding the base of the mountain; Jethro’s caves; And much more.

Joel Richardson wades into the controversial and ever contentious debate over the true historical site of Mount Sinai. Richardson contends for JabelElLawz in Arabia, adding his voice to those of Ron Wyatt, Bob Cornuke and Jim and Penny Caldwell. Plenty of references cited here to build the case historically from Jewish, Christian and Arab sources. The entire discussion takes on greater importance with Richardson’s disclosure that the Saudi’s plans are to allow the site to be open to archaeological scholars and eventually to the general public.

I've been leading Bible study in a wide variety of denominations for 40 years. Why had I never heard of this before?

Friends recently returned from visiting the Saudi Arabian Mt. Sinai, and that's what sent me to this book.

A good overview of why this looks like a more likely spot than the Egyptian Mt. Sinai, and I appreciated his gentle comments about detractors in the final chapter.

I'm convinced. This is the place.

Good case

Joel Richardson makes a good case here for the purposed site of mt Sinai as opposed to the traditional site. Easily understood and followed with his case laid out logically for those open to the truth.

After hearing Joel speak about Jebel al-Lawz as being the true Mt. Sinai at our church (Ferguson Church of the Nazarene) in Ferguson, MO my interest was piqued. This book outlines the compelling evidence that supports Joel’s and many other who believe this to be true I can say I now am persuaded as well.

The Saudi government is at work to build a huge modern day city called Neom (Neom means New Future)which will contain Jebel al-Lawz. Should this be a success this will open the area to tourism. I’ll now be watching this to see how this proposed Mt. Sinai impacts this area and plans for Neom. Very interesting read!

My son-in-law sent me this book to introduce Joel Richardson and his ministry, known as The Underground. I found it fascinating that people have an opinion about the location of Mount Sinai based on their dogmatic views instead of the Bible. The author goes into God’s Word to disprove the “traditionalists” works as he calls them. These traditionalists base their opinions on man’s words while Joel Richardson establishes his works on the Word of god. The book proves that Jebel al-Lawz (Almond Mountain) truly is Mount Sinai mentioned in the Bible.

Absolutely fascinating! I'll admit, I really didn't have a clear idea of where Mt Sinai was traditionally thought to be. But now, Joel has peaked my interest and makes a very good case for it being in Saudi Arabia instead on in Egypt on the Sinai Peninsula. I can't wait to see how this all pans out with more exploration as well as the political and spiritual ramifications. A worthwhile read for sure!

Solid defense of the Jebel al-Lawz viewpoint

Joel Richardson does a great job here explaining the biblical and historical reasons why Jebel al-Lawz is the true Mount Sinai. The various features of the site and the finds in the vicinity are intriguing to say the least. This is a quick read but still meaty. Well worth the time of Bible readers, students of apologetics, and history buffs. PS: I’m no archaeologist but no one can tell me that wasn’t a menorah in that photograph.

In my view, Richardson presents a strong argument for the location of Mount Sinai to be at Jebel al-Lawz. Though this isn’t an area of expertise for me, and I therefore can’t claim the evidence to be definitive, I appreciated Richardson’s arguments for the location. I recommend this book to anyone interested in biblical archaeology.

Very interesting and informative

Facts given were plain, complete and to the point. The arguments for the true location of Mt. Sinai convinced me that Al Lawz is the only possible place.

I love learning about Sinai and this had stuff I didn't know yet! It's cool how well it's been preserved and I'm excited to see what more we learn about it as more people are allowed to start looking!

Details Matter

Anyone interested in facts and detailed research will appreciate this book. Joel writes like he speaks. Many others have now added their own information, I believe verifying his direction.
