Cold Case Psychic #10

Dead to the World

Rate this book
Since the death of his former partner, Tony Abruzzi, at the hands of mob boss, Vito “The Dragon” Dragonni, Cold Case Detective, Ronan O’Mara, has been a shell of his former self. Other than working his shifts at the police station, Ronan is going through the motions of life. The once vital and active cop is reduced to binge-watching trashy shows on Netflix to cope with his loss.

Psychic, Tennyson Grimm, has a secret he’s been forced by the FBI to keep: Tony Abruzzi is alive. Barely eating or sleeping as he tries to cope with the guilt of keeping the truth from Ronan, Tennyson knows it's only a matter of time before his friends stop buying the lies he’s telling to explain his restless nights.

When Tony appears to testify at Vito Dragonni’s trial, all hell breaks loose. Accusations fly about who knew Abruzzi was alive and why it was kept a secret from Ronan, who's been struggling to come to terms with the "death" of a man he considered a brother.

Focusing on keeping their loved ones safe and bringing Dragonni to justice for his crimes once and for all, one question remains: Will Ronan be able to forgive Tennyson for lying about Tony’s death?

Another great book in the series.
Poor Ten, having to carry that secret around with him for 5 months.
This book sees the conclusion of the Dragonni story and a wonderful, happy ending.
Roll on the next one.

This one packed a bigger emotional punch than the others and I enjoyed.
The only thing that really made me angry was how the others reacted to Ronan.
Was he out of line - yes, he was but nevertheless was it a bit understandable.
So for them to turn on him after he already came back and realized his mistake was not ok for me
So all in all a good book in this series

♡🌟(¸.•♥´🌟Secrets and Lies...

Keeping secrets and telling lies, even if it is of the white kind, can be harmful in the end. Lies by omission never comes over well, especially when you've built a relationship based off of truths like Tennyson and Ronan have.

With weeks left to the birth of their anticipated bundle of joy, Ten and Ro have hit a plateau following the "death" of Tony Abruzzi. Too late, Ro realises he's let the the guilt of his friend's death overshadow his marriage and have now seen what the stress is doing to his own husband.

No one should have to carry such guilt.

For five months, Ten has been a shadow of himself, dead to the world like the secrets he carries. Only love and promises are keeping him carrying on. But if the rewards does not happen soon enough, he fears he will crack under the pressure. How will he survive when the truth finally comes out? How can he make it if he does not have Ro's backing one hundred percent? What happens when....?

For me, this was a secret I wanted to blast to the world. But like the reviewer I am, I had to sit on this book and stew until reveal day. I am so glad to release this review and I want to thank Pandora Pine for the hard work she is putting into keeping us readers entertained. There are not much long running series that have kept readers interested after the third book, and with the same main characters. For Ro and Ten to have such a following says how much they mean to us. Looking forward to book twenty, LOL.

I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.

A rollercoaster of emotion, grief, betrayal, and redemption. A thrilling read!

I love Pandora’s work and if you haven’t read this series you need to! This is the 10th installment for Psychic, Tennyson Grim and Cold Case Detective, Ronan O’Mara. They are a match made in heaven and I’ve loved every one of their stories and this is no exception. This story is full of grief and guilt and follows on from the previous book and the death of Ronan’s best friend and former partner Tony Abruzzi. The way Pandora addressed the grief and guilt in this story was great and adding in her unique humor and you’ve got another winner. This one while as thrilling as the others, I felt held more emotion and relationship growth for Ten and Ronan. We also get to see all the characters from all the previous stories and the blessed family they have formed that only seems to keep growing. A very special little miss finally makes her arrival and I look forward to seeing how Ten and Ronan embrace fatherhood. Another great story by Pandora. A truly winning series!!

Sitting here frustrated with my inability to reach into my reader and kick Ronan's ass... twice! *snort* LOL!!!

This was an extremely emotional read for me on so many levels and, of course, the joy of welcoming a child into our lives is hard to top! *tissue alert* ;D

Let me just say that there were either no grammatical errors to be found or the story was just so dang good that my brain refused to acknowledge them. Either way, a win for me with another great read from an author whose stories I just love to devour, but still find myself wanting to kick her ass from time to time. Hmm... she must be related to Ronan! *grin*

Still going strong.

There is some action in here but this one is more of an emotional read. Very powerful emotions that you will feel and react to. Pandora Line delivers exactly what we didn't know we wanted.

Do not eat at Chick Fil-A! Their owner established a charitable giving program in the company to actively support anti-gay groups. They have continued to do so off and on. Specifically, according to Wikipedia,
The owner, Dan Cathy, is still actively involved with groups such as the National Christian Foundation, an organization "spearheading the derailment of the Equality Act.”

On to my review:
I enjoyed this so much more than the last couple of books in the series. This had a full plot, conflict between the MCs, suspense, action, angst, etc. The last books were all a love fest with all the found family being perfect and loving each other and all getting along. There are so many of them it’s confusing. So I’m really appreciative that this book was different.

I obviously love that Tennyson is psychic. I love that he can talk to the dead. But I don’t like the knowing the future stuff, especially about their daughter. The fact that they’ve met her is just ridiculous and irritating.

The trial stuff was all wrong. No way could the defense attorney be kept from knowing about a surprise witness like this. The trial would be suspended until the defense had time to deal with the witness and his testimony and that could take months given who it is. It could end up causing the trial to be declared a mistrial because some of the jurors might no longer be available, maybe enough that they used up the back up jurors too. Or they could end up without enough jurors nearer to the end of the trial.

I like that they mention that getting shot even through Kevlar can cause all sorts of medical problems. That’s something TV shows usually ignore.

I don’t really get why Ronin would be so mad although there was a lot of tension leading up to the reveal and thus suspense which I loved. There was also lots of drama and angst (oh you are my lovelies) although I would never in a zillion years say what Ronan said in that situation. I can only think of one and that was if Ten were a child abuser/molester. He was less angry with the guy who put Tennyson in that position in the first place. But the only reason I can see for Ronan really being mad is that it was primarily selfish in that Tennyson kept wording the situation that he wouldn’t get to see his daughter, it was all about him. The reasons why this was a problem were left up to the reader. I realized it would mean the poor girl would start out life with only one of her birth parents, and that one was in jail, and that is far more concerning.

I, for one, believe that protecting my daughter was the most important thing and I wouldn’t be mad at my husband at all. I would feel bad for him having to keep it from me. But if I were Ten, I would also do research as to what rights I had.

More sexism. We have the moms as usual: the surrogate and the dead mom and then we have the evil attorneys, one smirking nastily and unprofessionally, the other defending the evil man and she is described as “the leggy blonde” as if that were the most important characteristic to identify her. There’s one female nurse. But that’s par for the course sometimes like in this series.

Overall, the book was enjoyable and of course I’ll read the next one.

Grief, pain, and secrets. Tennyson and Ronan have traveled a long road to get to where they are and yet their struggles are nowhere near over. Tennyson's guilt is eating him alive, Ronan's grief is blinding him to life, and an old enemy isn't through with either of them. When everything is thrown into chaos by shocking revelations Ten and Ronan will have to conquer the biggest hurdle they've ever faced if they hope to have the future both of them have dreamed of. And that's only if they can survive the mortal peril an old enemy has in store for Ronan's loved ones.

What draws me most to these men are that they're real. I get angry with them, disappointed, frustrated. But I also am so involved in their lives that that's the way it should be. Just because I don't like where their journey takes them at times doesn't mean I don't wish damn hard that they come through stronger on the other side. At times they surprise me with their insight, maturity, and their hearts. And Dead to the World had me on both very different sides of the spectrum.

Ronan has his typical Irish explosion, and not without cause, but the words that spew from his mouth have me aching for Ten and angry that Ronan can be so willfully blind. But it's when he gets advice from Kevin and Jude that he listens to his heart and allows his ears to open to the truth and the havoc Ten's secrecy wreaked on him for lying to Ronan. With a view to right wrongs, to truly listen and hear, I'm floored by the changes in this man. Even without all the drama that followed I have every belief that he would have came to the right understanding sooner rather than later. Ronan's temper made him an idiot, but his heart made him extraordinary.

The drama was big, as it always is with this crew, and in this case I think it was actually quite fitting. Issues that surrounded the case were touched on by an impassioned yet clear-headed Ronan that left me satisfied that someone noticed what was going on. Even if what happened to Ten was during his small lapse, it was his cool head that got them into a position that proved victorious. I was most impressed with Kevin and Jude. The way they handled Ronan was perfection. I was most disappointed in Carson and Bertha, actually. I didn't agree with how they handled things even if I can absolutely see where they were coming from. In the end, it was everything about Ronan made this story the roller coaster it was and I'm so glad I stuck with this family. I'm absolutely crazy about them and cannot wait to see what happens next.

Fantastic follow-up to Dead Man Walking. Five months ago Ronan’s best friend and former partner was murdered by Crime Boss Vito Dragonni. Unbeknownst to him, Toby survived, and has been placed in the WITSEC program and will be the star witness in the re-trial of of Dragonni. Tennison had been forced into a no-win situation by FBI officer, Cruz Clemente (who, it turns out, has an agenda of his own). Clemente tells Ten that he cannot let Ronan know that Tony is alive, or he will throw Tennyson into jail and will never see his soon-to-be-born daughter while incarcerated. The grief of having to watch his husband mourn his best friend for the past 5 months, and keeping the secret from Ronan is killing Tennyson bit by bit. Ronan is called to testify in the trial, and as soon as he is finished, Tony is called to the stand. Ronan is all kinds of crazy mad at finding out his husband has lied to him. Even when Ten tries to reason with him Ronan is the fucking worst husband ever. Dragonni escapes custody, and everyone has to band together to stop Dragonni from resuming his hit list (with Tony being at teh top of the list.)
The story is well crafted, and I really felt for Tennyson. He is such a good man, and didn’t deserve Ronan’s wrath. Luckily, pretty much the entire family comes down on Ronan and tells him to grow the fuck up. This was not Ten’s fault. He was given “Sophie’s Choice.” Because this is a Pandora Pine Novel, there is a heartwarming HFN ending with the birth of their daughter, Every Erin Grimm-O’Mara. (welcome to the family, Everly.)

Holy cannoli, what a roller coaster of emotions this book is! I can't lie.. this one hurts, guys. Ronan and Ten have been through so much that it is hard and have come out of it all so much stronger together, and it is near impossible to imagine anything that could rip them apart at this point. But I admit I was worried after the ending of the previous book in the series.. and rightfully so, it seems. This book begins months after the "death" of Tony Abruzzi, and while Ronan is struggling to move on from his grief over his best friend and former partner, Ten is collapsing under the guilt of a secret he is being blackmailed into keeping from his husband and everyone else around him. And all while being weeks away from the event they have been waiting for for so long...

As I am sure you can imagine.. not good.

Things get .. rough.. for these guys when the truth finally comes out. And it hurts. But if there is one thing I have come to rely on during this series, it is that (my) Ronan belongs with Ten and they will always come out on the other side of any obstacle in their way, together.. and stronger for the journey. And the ending!!! Gah!!! Worth it. Worth all of it. I can't wait for the next book because I need more of my Ronan and Ten and the rest of their family in my life!

Poignant, gritty, compelling action, and complex story-line creates an amazing story! This story is intense, lots of up and down emotions and most of the key players from the previous books have an active role in this book. The writing is awesome, the plot is tight and kept me reading all day. This was an emotional read for me, and it had me crying and laughing, angry and cheering. This is a really satisfying read!

Ronan and Ten have some really tough times in this story with Ronan dealing with the loss of his friend and Ten's withdrawal because of his lie of omission that he is being blackmailed into doing. I was afraid that they broke each other in this story, but my heart was mended by the end of the book.

Ronan and Tony finally have to face and fix their relationship that has been filled with secrets and pain. Tony, Ronan's former partner has a really important story-line in this book and it is heartbreaking in its intensity. The choice that he was asked to make was a lose-lose and yet he faced it and had to face the consequences.

Cold Case Psychic Series has continued to keep me glued to my kindle and craving the next book.

Highly recommend!!

Another excellent addition to the Cold Case Psychic series! Dead to the World is beautifully written, emotional, full of action and suspense, has all of the usual amazing characters, there are several surprising twists and I could not put it down. Ronan and Tennyson are facing their biggest test yet as they struggle to hold their marriage and family together. There is a lot of angst and anger as Ronan discovers a secret that Tennyson was coerced into keeping. Amid all of the danger and threats to their lives they will have to deal with their issues as well as the impending birth of their little miss. Ronan and Tennyson will need the help and support of all of their friends, including Bertha and Erin, if they have any hope of getting past this huge obstacle intact. This book is a rollercoaster ride of emotions and danger that had me on the edge of my seat until the very end. I am so looking forward to reading the next book in this amazing series.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

What a ride. I really love these guys and the way that they are together. That said I was hurting for everyone involved with this one. You could feel the guilt and the pain that Ten was in during the waiting for the trial. He had so much to lose and so much going on that there was really nothing that he could see as a positive in his life I hurt all over with the pain that he was feeling. Ronan has been in mourning for his friend and brother Tony. He is able to finally feel like there might be a light at the end of the pain and loss that he has dealt with. But now he sets his sights on trying to figure out what is troubling his husband. The two of them have a major hurdle to cross and lots of serious decisions to make when the sh*t hits the fan. I really like how once again when there is something to be done, it's all hands on deck to help them through everything that they are going through. It's amazing to see this family and friends and the way that they circle around each other for support or help in whatever they may need.

Oh WOW!! What a story! Consumed in one sitting, just waiting for the explosion between all of the characters when secrets are revealed. This book follows on from book 9 and I was holding my breath throughout, feeling so much emotion right along with Tennyson and Ronan. There are a lot of tense moments and I was pulled in right from the start of the book and couldn't put it down until I knew what was going to happen between out favourite couple.
This, to me, cannot be read as a stand alone as book 10 in the Cold Case Psychic series. A lot of what is talked about happened in previous books so best read in order for full enjoyment. There's all of the family involved and there is a lot of them as they include all of their friends, children and work colleagues. There is love, friendship, guilt, stress and a strong plot line to keep us all
I cannot recommend this book and series enough. This along with Pandora Pine have become firm favourites of mine and always highly recommend.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review

Dead To The World by Pandora Pine is the tenth book in the Cold Case Psychic series. Tennyson has been forced to hide a truth from Ronan. Ronan is trying to deal with the loss of his best friend/partner, but sees that something is eating away at Ten. When the truth comes out it's a test to tbe love and life they have built. And then, danger comes knocking at their door.

I am so in love with Tennyson and Ronan. They are funny, sweet, sexy and their love is strong... but this is a big secret to keep and it takes a toll on both of them. The story is filled with great moments, action, suspense, ghostly visits, and all the good things we have come to expect from a Cold Case Psychic novel. This series just keeps getting better and pulling me in deeper, I need more!

I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

Ronan has not been at his best since his best friend, Toni Abruzzi, was killed. Grief counseling can only do so much. Ten hasn't been right either and a secret between the two starts to drag at their relationship. Finding out Toni is alive should be the best thing ever, but instead the feelings of betrayal and finding out about secrets that Toni has kept from him during their friendship. Angry at Ten and Toni for secrets kept from him, things deteriorate between Ten and Ronan. Then danger steps in and he has greater things to worry about, like keeping them all alive long enough to see his daughter born on Valentine's day. Can his life get any worse? I have followed this series from the beginning and the books keep getting better and better. If you haven't started this series, I highly recommend it.

Dead To The World is the tenth book in Pandora Pine's Cold Case Series and it's so damn good.

Ten is drowning. He's hiding things from Ronan, and the guilt is slowly killing him. He's losing weight, acting different, and Ronan can't help but notice.

One of the best things about this series, other than the humor, is the fact that each book revolves around the same relationship. Each book has a new mystery to solve, or new trials in their lives. But it's always about Ten and Ronan. It's unique and fantastic, as this is an amazingly enjoyable couple.

Ten and Ronan face a lot of difficult times in this book. There are secrets, danger, anger, and more. As always, it's well written, absolutely compelling and will leave you satisfied. I'm excited to see what happens next.

Thank you Pandora Pine for this fantastic series.

3 stars!

This is the 10th book in the cold case psychic series and I'm just so exhausted with the roller coaster that is Ro and Ten's life! I kind of hope this is the last book of this series because it would be the perfect ending!

This book is a mess of tying up loose ends. It's the conclusion to the Tony disaster. The start of a new life. What I didn't really like was how I felt everything was constantly restated. For example Ro and Kevin have multiple similar conversations about Ten and what is wrong with him but each is written where it seems like the conversation was the first and only one.

Overall, it is a necessary read for this series but it isn't the best book of this series either.

Another good in

I received this book by the author and this is my honest opinion.
I've been with this series from the start and though we are on book 10 it doesn't get old. Ten and Ronan relationship has progressed and we now welcome there little miss into the fold of their expanded band of family. The mystery involves Ronan friend this time his cop friend Tony, and with all the fallout of these circumstances it puts a strain onTens and his relationship. I really enjoy integrating into this bosom of a family and there interaction and love, and of course the mystery plot was well written as usual and flowed nicely. It brings up feelings they have to wade through of the mire that they all seem to find themselves in. A good read

I liked this book, but...

This is the tenth Tennyson and Ronan book. I like them and their "family" of Salem gays. Some of the books get a bit intense or drag on the middle, but it's always worth it to hang out with these friends.

Ronan has an infamous temper, and it's inevitable that he's going to be mad when he finds out what secret Tennyson has been keeping from him... Or is it?

I really wanted this book to go differently. I don't think I can explain why without spoilers, but I feel strongly that Ronan acts out of character in this book, especially near the end, but a lot of what he does regarding Tony doesn't quite fit the circumstances and what we already know about Ronan.

New beginnings

Paranormal dual point of view
Can be read standalone but better if read after book 9, Ghost of Himself, and Thin Blue Grind.

Ten has been lying to Ronan for months and its not a little one, its a whopper! He was forced to by the FBI in a terrible situation, but now that lie is going to be revealed not just to Ronan but to a serial killer and mob boss who wants to see them all dead. Will they and their marriage survive when Tony Abruzzi testifies?

I think I would have weighted the story a little differently in terms of the reveal and after action, but it was a good resolution to the situation. I did find myself wondering what was happening with Cope and Jude so Im glad that will be answered soon.

I was worried about Ronan and Ten when this started because I was not expecting Ronan to react well to Tony being alive and Ten knowing. While Ronan did have his typical blow up, this lasted much less than I expected-and that made me very happy. Yes Ronan walked away for one night to get his head on straight and yes, Ten got caught up in more Dragonni crap, but Ronan came back to Ten without Ten’s danger being the reason. For me, that made all the difference. He didn’t have a change of heart because of danger, he came back to Ten because he loved him. That’s why I love these guys. They are total relationship goals. Well, except for getting shot, kidnapped, or injured all the time. Lol
Fantastic. Love Everly. Can’t wait for Ronan and Ten to be daddies now!

Fantastic!

These books keep getting better! I know, I think I say this with every book, but its true. After every book, I am left wanting for more, and no more so than waiting for this one. I felt the last bit was left a bit up in the air, so I was excited when this was finally out. When you start this, be ready to not want to put it down! I think I read this in two sittings, and only because life demanded it! Ten and Ronan are going to bring you some angst, mystery, suspense and of course love. So get ready for all the feels because there are going to be quiet a few, this is another fantastic addition to the Cold Case Psychic series.

I love this book so much. Watching Tennyson and Ronan falling apart broke my heart, even though I knew they would have to make things right before the birth of their daughter. But how could that happen when Tennyson got abducted by mob goons? This was another action-packed emotional roller coaster, and I couldn't put my Kindle down until the ride ended. What a great bunch of characters, supportive and unafraid of letting each other know when they've screwed up. This is the best kind of family. I'm so glad I started this series, and I can't wait to see how things change for Ronan and Ten once they are solving crimes as Everly's daddies. Yes, please!

Enjoyed It!

I have been on pins and needles waiting for Ronan to find out the secret Tennyson was forced to keep! This book didn't disappoint in reactions from everyone involved. I was a mess of anxiety, and Pandora Pine didn't disappoint. I have loved this series from the beginning, and I feel like I know these men on a molecular level. Pandora Pine is a first-class story teller and knows how to create characters so real they leap from the page. I gave it four stars only because it was a bit more predictable than the others and the characters were more static than in the past, but the epilogue was a long time in coming!! That was awesome!

I've read the first Cold Case Psychic book and several of the spinoffs, so I appreciated the book equivalent of "previously on CCP" at the beginning, though it was a bit cumbersome to have to work so much exposition in so that readers would remember why the situation was urgent. If you're a fan of the series, you'll buy this anyway. If you haven't read the series, it's not 100% necessary to read the others but it will definitely cut down on the confusion. I discovered that while Tennyson and Ronan are entertaining, I prefer Jude and Copeland. Still, all the members of the ensemble show up in this episode, and it was good to see them all.

This is the Tenth book in The Cold Case Psychic Series. A gripping book that was an emotional rollercoaster at times, the writing was amazing. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters captivating. The characters were developed and thought out. Ronan and Tennyson are the MC’s of this book. With some great secondary characters as always. I can recommend this book as a good read. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

I think this is the best book yet

I was anxious when I started this book and just found myself so emotional page after page.. I couldn't read at work because I found myself crying at times. Pandora Pine absolutely exceeds all expectations in pulling the reader in and letting us feel all of Ronan and Tennyson. as much as I wanted to turn the next page, I found myself fearful at the same time.. this is everything a reader could want and that is what great writers do, they have the ability to touch and reach our souls through the characters they create...

Omg women...You broke my tear ducts! Jeez that was rough going I honestly thought that was the end of the Grimm-O Mara show, when Ronan said those words about keeping him away from their daughter at the courthouse all I could see was Tenny giving up and fading away to nothing :0
Amazing as always Pandora bravo hunni on another successful addition to the CCP series this one although difficult to get through with everything being revealed it had the BEST ending, can’t wait for the next one in the series.
