The only way Kane knew how to get by was to hunt monsters and sell their body parts to the Guild. The only reason he needed the money? To pay off Katya’s debt to the Madame.
Life had other plans. The demonic entity in him, Astaroth, awakened and threatened to destroy everything he cared for. But the demon’s first point of business? Killing Lilith, the being that denied him love.
Thrust into an invasion on his homeland, the odds were against Kane. Who was behind the war, and why were they targeting him? Finding out would be the last thing he wanted.

This novel has so many excellent elements within it. The MC in it is one of the very few MC that is a truly grey character. The choices that he makes throughout this novel are both good and evil in such a way as for the main character to care for those he loves and those whose wellbeing matters, but make no mistake some of his choices are on the dark side. It also seems as though the author is setting the characters and story as a whole up as one of redemption. This is seen in the form of the MC's love interests, or as of right now bedmates. The adult scenes are definitely erotic and descriptive, well written, and very hot. Personally I can't wait for the next novel in this dark, action packed, adult series!!
Ok the book started off with a good story and had some interesting characters and then it went off the rails. I enjoyed it for about the first 30% of the book and after that I was hoping the author would be able too bring it back. Overall the writing was good and the pace of the book was good but I did not enjoy it. I have it a 3 based on the first part of the book and his ability to write in a way that makes his story easy to follow.
I lived the story, I loved the MC. I loved the sex. So why only four stars? I found the writing hard to take. It got better as the book went along and obliviously, I continued to read it. I a second one comes out I'd get it also. Loved the darkness also.
