Middle Ground

Rate this book
A cheeky little novella that packs a lot of heat, from behind the doors of Club Descent.

What happens when a five-foot six alpha male meets a six-foot four bruiser of a bouncer?

Sparks fly.

Ed and Jeremy, two naturally dominant and controlling men, fall for each other in the most unlikely of places. Meeting in the middle never looked so spectacular.

But who comes out on top?

*Please note - this book contains adult themes and is for 18+ only. If you can't stand the heat - get out of Club Descent! An indulgent 24k trip from two secondary characters in the books Descent and Ascent.

Klaire is a multi genre author who has a passion for reading and more often than not, can be found with her nose stuck in a book. She loves angsty, dark reads but is not averse to the fun, light hearted side either. Typically, a romance reader, of most genres/sub genres, her passion for literature and written words goes back to her childhood when she always dreamed of writing and telling the world her stories.

Not quite a stay at home mum, Klaire has a busy life which she shares with her husband of twenty-five years and her little monkey boy. Her adult children have flown the coop already, but still manage to come home for ‘mama’s lasagne.’ EOL Nurse and business owner are her daytime realities.

Avid eater of mayonnaise and chips, anti-get fitter, lover of cheesy music and a fierce advocate of things close to her heart. She has a bucket list as long as her arm, which includes sky diving and visiting Cambodia. And wants to travel the world.

Great believer in second chances, insta-love (because her love is a product of that), fairy tales and monsters… Klaire just wants to write all the words for you.

What a great story this is!!
Two strong dominant men, they could fight each other... when they finally collide... the most beautiful thing happened.

Jeremy and Ed, they known each other for many years from Club Descent and respect the other... but more... heavily attracted to the other. Only their personalities are not quite compatible... how can two alpha men ever be in tune. How can they ever give up some heavy-weighted parts of themselves.

Both men were strong put down in a really good way, responsible and respectful toward the other and the club.
The scene where Jeremy and Ed came close was breathtaking done... I was sitting on the edge of my chair and almost cheering.
The turns in this story were very original and captivating. The need and longing dripping... and hot
The way of writing was clear, strong, passionate, considerate, and made it easy to picture it all.
The language was delicious dirty and through all this deliciousness their personalities were tall and powerful. I loved the soft sides as much as the demanding ones.
An awesome addition was to see glimpse of the twin and Liam and Joshua from part #1 and #2 (both also a mustread). Another wonderful unexpected addition was Grant...
I wanted to hug them all hard... with one arm... in the other I’m holding a Karamel Sutra !

Kindly received an arc from the author

Ed and Jeremy get serious !

Terrific short story of Ed and Jeremy’s romance. Grant is home on leave and Jeremy’s son, who approves of their relationship wholeheartedly.
A sexy story of lust turned to love, Ed’s farm, and a HFN. Enjoy !

Admittedly I haven't read the other two books in this series but I still enjoyed this little snippet of Jeremy and Ed.

The opening scenes were scorching hot. These two dominant men played off each other really nicely and had me intrigued. Where this veered off course for me however is the fact that these men admit they don't know each other, and yet the ILY's come pretty fast. We are also promised the push/pull of their dominance but it ended up fairly tame. On the whole it's a sweet, sexy, shortish read that wraps everything up in a sugar-coated bow.

I loved reading this well-written novella by KA Sands. Middle Ground is about Jeremy and Ed, two more different people you couldn't expect to meet. Ed is a six-foot-four bouncer and Jeremy is a five-foot-six lawyer, both alpha males. Not exactly a match but then they say opposites attract and these two definitely have a strong attraction.

This story is all about the romance. There are some really sweet moments along the way as these two fall in love and work their lives and lusts out. There are some really hot and steamy moments between them too!!

This story is a spin-off from Descent and Ascent stories but could be read as a standalone. It is such a good read. I would recommend you one click it straight away.

SERENDIPITY , the effect by which one accidentally stumbles upon something truly ...

...wonderful, especially while looking for something entirely unrelated.

And that right there, is what Middle Ground is all about . Jeremy and Ed tale , they finally saw each other when they said: Fudge the shoulds. Support the wants.

Middle Ground is an erotic , vivid and delightful short love story that will make your body tingle and your heart flutter.

For all those who have taken a foray into the world of Club Descent and the subsequent book Ascent this is a true piece of decadent chocolate at the end of a fine meal.

Ed has always been a man that held a lot of interest for me. Larger than life and full of care and heart. I always felt there was more to the large Alpha male that just what we saw in the previous books. To Liam he was a friend and protector, but to me, he was a man with secrets to uncover.
Hot and Sweet two very different descriptors for the same individual. To me it seemed through the entirey of Middle Ground (wish it had been longer but I'm just an addict for this writers work), Ed was one of those characters who been born to the author fully grown and completely conceptualised.

Jeremy had been mentioned in previous books but hadn't had much page time.
To this reader there was much more to discover about Jeremy than Ed.
Jeremy's personal life was an open book. A father to an adult son and a strong willed man who knew what he wanted and was never afraid to stand up and make himself heard. How could any lawyer not be heard considering the noise they can make.

How could two strong men make any kind of lasting relationship work?
Well, what is so refreshing about this author is that she doesn't force jigsaw puzzle pieces together. The pieces fit like that was the way it was always suppose to be.

We were introduced to a new player; Grant, and this young man is something special. Something special indeed. Makes me wonder whether or not he'll be getting his own book?
As this was a novella they weren't dragged repeatedly through the mud in order to get their HEA.
What we got was so right, it truly hurt on a base level.

Two men who have never had a meaningful relationship, striving to make the one relationship they do have WORK! They don't do dress rehearsals and they just are, but what they are is simply beautiful and profound.
Catapillar to soring butterfly in a few staggering steps.
Well Done Ms. Sands I'm well on my way to needing rehab and I couldn't care less.

A great short story about two alpha males who we have met in Descent and Ascent. I actually wish this story had been longer but it was certainly enough to see the connection that Ed and Jeremy have. It was interesting to see how both men, who usually don't bow down to anyone, would react to each other and this is where I could see their relationship for what it is and how people can change for the right person.
There are some very nice M/M sex scenes but I actually enjoyed the theme which I have found has hit me the most in all three books in the series, and that's the feeling that the characters in the book are more like family, rather than just friends and acquaintances.

You could read this novella before the main books in the series, I don't think your enjoyment would be spoiled. However, I'm a read in series order kind of person and to be honest I'm certain you'll want to read both previous books anyway so you may as well start with Descent. I am now left hoping we get more books in this series.

I loved this novella by K. A Sands which is a first time read for me by this author. Well written, romantic, sweet and full of hot male on male action, it was a quick but enjoyable read.

I loved both Ed and Jeremy in this book which is a spin off from the Descent and Ascent books which I haven't yet read but this novella can be read as a standalone. It was an easy going story of an attraction between two alpha males which worked well even though you think at the start that there might be some serious clashes between the pair - there were none. I do love a bit of angst in my books but because this book a short one it works well without it.

A great little read which was hot as hell, swoon worthy, and dripping with heat - what more could you want !!

Oh I knew Ed and Jeremy’s story would pack a punch!
If you have read Descent and Ascent then this novella is sure to draw you in!
Ed is a tether at the club. Not normally one to participate, but the one man (J) would get on his knees for, wants his participation.
These two dominant men will bring each other to their knees in this explosive and powerful connection they suddenly crave!
It’s got the hotness, the sweetness and lighthearted moments that will want you falling to your knees for these two!

Spicy Novella

Two alphas finding love? Yes. Enjoyed every bit, particularly because it wasn’t full of angst. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

I wanted more of Ed and Jeremy's story but i'll always want more from this author. I would love to hear Grants story after meeting him. Enjoyed reading the characters from Descent and Ascent which i would recommend reading first to get the full story of everyone. Looking forward to whats coming next.

Looking beyond the steam and instalove, I found a fascinating story of two characters that usually liked to be in charge but could give that up at times to be with the perfect partner. This is a more realistic look at the push and pull and compromise of real relationships and marriages.

Sweet and sexy novella

Well, what more can I say about this book other than it’s a sexy-as-hell Novella that left me in a puddle. Jeez! KA Sands has this ability to write MM scenes that leave me questioning my sexuality 😂.

Ed and Jeremy are two serious alpha males and their relationship made them both question their pasts and present power struggles and need to succumb to one another at any cost. Descent included.

I adored seeing the characters we have come to know and love in this series so far, with new faces too, making me crave more stories about them. I just loved this flaming hot, pant-melting Novella.

What can you say about a book that captivated you from start to finish? K A Sands didn't disappoint with the last book in this series. Jeremy and Ed were attracted to each that you could see the sexual tension coming off the pages. I was smiling, frowning, gasping, and saying oh my once I started reading it. I read this book in one sitting and I couldn't put it down. I love seeing the MCS from the previous books. I'm looking forward to your next book

For some reason after having read and loved the other three books in this series a few years ago, I missed this little novella. I'm so glad I finally got to it, i loved it!

Ed and Jeremy are two dominant alphas who on paper don't look like they'd match, but they'd certainly noticed each other at Club Descent. When they finally cross that line, their chemistry is super hot as they find their Middle Ground.

Less angsty than the other books in this series, there was still a lot of emotion, feels and heat packed into this novella. Ed and J were both lovely guys and although I'd have loved more, I really enjoyed their sweet, sexy story. If you are reading the series in order, we see glimpses of all the previous characters and it introduces Jeremy's son, Grant, who stars in the next book. It can be read as a standalone and you're in for a treat with the rest of the series if this is your first!

Thanks for another great addition...

This was another great addition to the series, which I enjoyed. Jeremy and Ed knew they were meant to be together from the very beginning. I'm happy for them both, for love has a way of finding its way into ones heart, and never letting go. The Middle Ground is where they always met, and it was a great start for a relationship, that ended with a HEA.

This was my first book K. A Sands but certainly not my last! Holy hotness overload! This was a well written novella that had me turning the pages quickly. It needed to come with a warning: do not read in public! I was blushing! lol

I am off to one-click more books from this author!

This was a good read. It was short and sweet so it skipped a lot of potential good storytelling but I enjoyed it as it was.
