Shawn Raymond Poalillo is a retired Special Agent from the Department of Homeland Security with over twenty-four years of federal law enforcement experience. He spent the bulk of these years investigating drug smuggling, money laundering and terrorism cases.

Poalillo is certified in federal court as an expert in the areas of money laundering, bank record analysis and telephone toll analysis and can give expert testimony.

Having attended LIU/CW Post College, the author holds a BA in psychology and business and also graduated from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Glynco, Georgia.

"Writing is a great joy, each word a small victory. In my first novel - Rerun: A New Face of Terrorism - I tried to bring the realism of true-life law enforcement, something lacking in most novels of the genre, while mixing in an outlandish plot. Cops have a great time all the time. Nothing was serious until it had to be and then it became serious quickly.

"This same quality is seen in my third novel - The Girl With The Black Mark, another Special Agent Michael Poe story.

"Completely different is A Selfless Man, which is a departure from the other two and a more heart wrenching story.

"My goal is to entertain and take the reader away, if only briefly, to a different place. Enjoy!"

Why?

I won this book through a Goodreads Giveaway.

This was a great book. It captured my attention immediately and I could not put it down. The characters were well developed and believable and I loved the plot. It was different than anything I usually read. It got my brain working and had a bit of tension from the love that two of the characters had for each other but could not share due to their past relationship and the situations they were in but it added to the story in a great way. It had a great and interesting twist at the end though. However, why did it have to end that way?

The third installment in the Special Agent Michael Poe series and they keep getting better. The author keeps you guessing, as always, with various stories within the book that all connect at the end. Great action scenes, I think its called "cinematic writing." Not many authors do it better and of course there's the beautiful girl. Loved it!

I read this book several years ago but I was distrActed by life. Some parts I demo but the twist had been lost so I will definitely be a follower.

Another great Special Agent Michael Poe Book

Well written with plots within plots which is difficult in fast paced books. And this one is fast paced. The author gives just enough to keep you on the edge of your seat, a constant in all his books. Characters of prior Michael Poe books return like old friends and flesh out the background on point. The new element is always Poe's love interest; in this case - Jennifer, the beautiful, flawed girl who throughout the book you love, then hate, then pity. And as always, there is the grand plot! You won't expect it! Well done.

I received this book from the Goodreads Giveaways.
An interesting plot with a good twist at the end. Special Agent Poe is asked to help a woman who he had a prior relationship with. Her father was killed and left her his billions but also a secret and she needs Poe's help to figure it out and not let anyone else know. The bad guys of course also want the secret and go after Poe and Jennifer. Lots of romantic tension between the two. Poe enlists the help of an Irish thief he has worked with previously. Lots of action. The heroes get caught several times and are almost killed but are saved and go on to disrupt the plans of the bad guys.
The bad guys are 4 people who are bent on running the world. Jennifer's father had been part of their group and when he decided he couldn't continue with them that is when he was killed. The story starts in the U. S. and then travels to Europe. The bad guys have developed an interesting and sci-fi way to take control of the world.
Their was a few typos, misspellings and missing words in the copy I received. It also felt like occasionally when the story went from one chapter to the next that there was a bit of a jump and once in awhile you weren't quite certain how the characters had gotten to a particular spot. Could have made the transitions a little smoother but overall a good book.

I won this book on Goodreads for an honest review.

This is a very well written book. The characters are believable and written to the extent that you do want to follow them and find out what is going to happen to them. The scenery of the story is well described and very easy to envision. This is a great and thrilling mystery and keeps you guessing until the climatic end. I highly recommend this story to anyone that really likes a good who-done-it. This author is one to watch as I believe he writes with true vision and passion.

Great read well deserving of a five star rating

The Five Horseman is well deserving of my 5 star rating. As in the previous 2novels in this series; " The Girl With the black mark" and "rsrun" it was an inTeresting story line and the characters are well defined i am looking forward to the next novel in this series.

Great Plot

What a unique story. Comes at you from all angles and as you think you’ve figured it out, it shifts again. Broken romance, evil men, and even more evil science rapped into a mystery thriller. I’ve read this author before and his books run fast and hard. Recommend highly.
