Here's the thing about revenge - if it's served too hot, there's a good chance you'll get burned. Now that my friends and I are back in New America and surrounded by the monsters who did this to us, we're finding it impossible to contain our venomous hatred for them.
The next stage of our mission is for Luxxe to train.
To keep our cool.
Execute the plan.
But as emotions run high and plans start unraveling at the seams, we begin questioning if we're the right ones for the job... and it may just cost us everything.

Ooh I have been waiting for this one. Spectacle Part 2 picks up right where the first book left off. Mira and her friends arrive in New America to support Luxxe and put their plan into place. All the while they have to hide their true identities and their involvement in what happened six years ago. Everything is at stake, and the pressure is high. Despite this, there were some great moments between the four friends, and I loved how some of their relationships changed through the course of this book. Some new characters were introduced (love me some Aaron!), and there was the return of one character that made me so freaking happy. All my stress over a particular thing in book one has been alleviated, so yay! That ending though. I’m still in denial that what seemed to go down is final, and I’m going to hold on to that hope between now and December when the final book is released.

“The Spectacle Trilogy” by S.J. Pierce is a YA adventure series that mixes dystopian with soft science fiction tropes and more than loosely reminds of Suzanne Collins’s “The Hunger Games”, Veronica Roth’s “Divergent Series”, and Vera Nazarian’s “The Atlantis Grail”. This is a good-written, easy to read and quick (barely 135) book.
The series focuses on conflict and power discrepancies between the two factions in the series and highlights the dark elements of the new social system in which people with different abilities become targets, just for being what they are, and are presented as a threat to the average population
As the Elder council issues a general meeting, the deportees had to make a decision between keep on the edge of survival on the island or covertly go back to New America. Now Mira and her friends have sneaked back to New America with the goal of getting Luxxe to train, and eventually realize their plan to regain their place in society. Not an easy task, when everyone on your radar is an enemy waiting for an opportunity to demask you, and ship you back into exile.
I received an ARC of this book and I thought it would be the conclusion of the series. Instead, it ended with another cliffhanger. Apparently, there is one book left.
It's an unusual dystopian young adult story, which at times reminded me of The Hunger Games, but was different enough to stand on its own. The scenes in the book are described clearly and with great detail, a testament to Ms. Pierce's writing abilities, while the characters are relatable and sympathetic. There are some great villains and some surprising allies.
I'm not sure why I didn't love this installment as much as the first, but I'm looking forward to reading part three, the final book. I'd like to see Ms. Pierce combine all three books into one for future readers. It's a good story.
Well worth the wait for this book! It picks up where the first leaves off and takes you on a roller coaster of a ride. The crew is back in New America and getting ready for Luxxe to do what they planned. With what the reader is expecting and what happens is OMG! There are surprises and changes in relationships and so much more! You have to read the first book but you won't be disappointed at all! Can't wait for the next book to find out what happens next!
This book continues from where Book 1 ended and the wild ride continues. Now Mira and the others have all sneaked back to New America and are getting reading for Luxxe to train. Will they be able to regain their place in society? The story line was action packed and full of adventure. We are treated to surprises, introduced to new characters, and see changes in relationships! And we are all waiting expectantly for the final book in the Trilogy. Well done!
Mira, Luxxe, Cole and Taylor are back and Luxxe has been chosen to fight for his freedom in the Freedom Matches. The rebellion is on and our aliens are faced with betrayal, intrigue, lies, danger, secrets, revelations and a need to be free. Good read
