I received a free copy for an honest review. Three cute little stories if you couldn't get enough of the Mountain Creek Drive series. I really liked Amy's story and I want more of it. I would like to see what becomes of Amy and Gabe. In fact, I think I'd like to hear more about each of the characters.

This collection of three short stories about supporting characters from the Mountain Creek Drive series is amazing! I would describe it as an early 2000s teen rom-com version of The Night Circus because it eloquently blends the carnival environment, budding romance, and a hint of magic together nicely.

The first story by Kayla Tirrell follows Amy Ferrara as she tries to reinvent herself for the upcoming school year. She changes her hair and buys a bunch of make-up and fashion magazines, which her mother and her brother Manny question because they think she’s fine the way she is. Then Amy goes to the carnival and meets Gabe, a cute guy about her age who sees her for who she really is and boosts her self-confidence. The story ends in a bit of a cliff-hanger as Amy promises to do something at the carnival one year later, leaving the possibility for a sequel to this story.

The second story by M. F. Lorson follows Colleen Coronado as she helps her coach father run a college football training camp. One of the players is Manny Ferrara, who needs some help with his game. At the carnival, Colleen meets up with her friends—Jenn, Libby, and Nick—at her friend Erin's Shakespeare performance. She mentions Manny’s poor performance, which he happens to overhear. After the show, Colleen goes after him and tries to cheer him up when the two discover that magical things can happen at the carnival. I particularly enjoyed how naturally Colleen and Manny’s connection evolved through this story.

The third story by Daphne James Huff, follows classical music lover Amanda Gregory as she’s stuck working at a music store instead of going to the carnival with her friends. As she describes it, in one of my favorite quotes from the story: “I looked around the store to be sure no one was near my register, and went back to my book, trying my best to ignore the blaring music. Some Canadian anti-Britney singing about how complicated life was.” Avril Lavigne is so iconic of the early 2000s setting of this story that she doesn't even have to be named to be recognized. Then Amanda meets a cute guy from school at the store, Jason Greizmann, who shares her love of classical music. He asks her to meet him later at the carnival. Fate seems to have other plans for Amanda as various commitments pop up that keep her from the carnival, but nothing will stop this girl on a mission.

These stories are a wonderful expansion on the Mountain Creek Drive’s secondary characters. I can hardly wait to find out what happens next with them. Here’s hoping there will be follow-up stories for these characters!

Three new stories. Very well written and a very good bunch of stories. Story onr was about a teenager who was protectrf by her older brothe. And she wanted to get out from under his watchful eye.

Story 2 is a story about a teenager who messes up her life and trys to help her friends with theirs.

Story 3 is a story about a teenager who has never been kissed and she wants to change that but her father is the coach of the Colorado football team and does not want her to have anything to do with the guys on the team.

Three authors, three short stories. Set in a small town during Carnival time in 2002. First kisses in a romantic setting, helped along by a fortune teller and her spot on readings.
A taste of what is to come in the Mountain Creek Drive series. Perfect summer reading.

Nice clean romance

I enjoyed reading these stories. They’re cute, clean and interesting. They seem like they could be beginnings of longer stories.
