A daring narrative built with the best elements out of the 30 seasons of the TV series. As a fan, it’s a super satisfying story, since it makes real what isn’t possible in the original show. A must read for older fans!
I've heard about Lord Drakkon and the Power Rangers comics for so long now... So glad I finally got to read this. I would say I was a little disappointed because I wasn't expecting a multiverse story and it was pretty tough for me to keep up sometimes.
I thought we were only going to be looking at an alternative timeline where Tommy stays evil but it ended up being about how that timeline affects everything else. So the Ranger Slayer's involvement in the story was a little confusing for me - along with figuring out which Tommy is alive and dead.
I was also disappointed that the way Lord Drakkon was defeated was with mind games (targetted as his insecurities and self-doubt) and not a big battle like I've grown to expect from any of the Power Rangers series. It felt a little anti-climatic that after all the chaos that Lord Drakkon unleashed that, that he is his own demise in this way.
I wish that artefacts like the 'chaos crystal' had mini description boxes just to give a little context or refresh my memory if I'm supposed to know having grown up, watching Power Rangers. So yeah, I'm glad I read it but there was definitely too much going on for me and that affected how much I enjoyed it.

I've been a power rangers fanboy my entire life. I grew up with the series, I remember the transition from Jetix to Nickelodeon, all that. And this story, as a fan, is phenomenal. The stakes for the story are huge, being a giant multiversal "Everyone is Here!" event story, but it never loses sight of the most important thing in Power Rangers. Heart. It has so much Heart to and handles each team and ranger introduced with such care. It also takes advantage of the crossover and has little interactions that are both funny and interesting. Sure it's maybe a little fan service-y, but hey. I am a fan and it did service me.
I can see how it can be a little confusing for newer fans or people who didn't grow up with Power Rangers, but I think the story itself still works without that knowledge. If you want a grand story with cosmic stakes, or even just remember the series, give it a read!
Really cool event and something every ranger fan has wanted to see on the show. A giant fight with every single ranger ever and it is really cool and while the Megaforce series did try something like this but Shattered Grid does it so much better as we get multiple interactions with different Rangers from Kruger talking to Zordon, the Phantom Ranger and Mike interacting, and even seeing three different Pink Rangers teaming up. And also seeing a brand new megazord formed from multiple different megazords. We also see Lord Drakon being in other power rangers villains like the Psycho Rangers and Korrag from Mystic Force.
If you'd told me that a Power Rangers story was this good, I honestly wouldn't have believed you, like wow. A story about a multi dimensional threats with all the different eras of Power Rangers coming together to fight a godlike entity, wow.
It incorporated all these dark elements into the series, without making it edgy for no reason. It was just the perfect story and now I'm a huge fan! There is so much I could say about this but honestly my mind is just blown, if you liked the Power Rangers when you were a kid you've love this story.
This whole series has been such a treat to read, it's quite light and very enjoyable and full of nostalgia for me. I'm unsure as to whether I should buy the hard cover versions though with the extra stuff. Either way onto Beyond the Grid next and then Necessary Evil. Loving the Boom Studios take on the rangers!
A must-read series for fans of the Power Rangers! These pages are chock full of nostalgic landmarks and exciting cameos by your favorites. My husband got this for me as a Christmas gift and had the wonderful privilege of hearing me gasp my way through the 7-issue volume.
It was a really great journey with a strong message for an ending that I think happened just a little too quickly. What a crossover, though. Fan service galore for those of us who watched these shows when they aired which (let's be real) is likely most of us.
Reading a power rangers novel like this is different for me as I grew up watching the show and seeing Tommy evil was certainly different but over all I like it the art was 10/10 the story was good there were a few things that made me confused but over all a good read.
It was good, epic in every sense of the word and very pleasing for ranger fans such as myself, but by the end I was left emotionally unsatisfied and just thinking "huh?"
Loved it from start to finish. Exsighted to read next 10 omnibus's. Writing was on point. Was a good time. I Almost liked it as much as much idw tmnt omnibuses👍👍👍👍👍👍
This is a great comic series. Keeps you guessing on what will happen next. Is great to see the biggest team up in Power Rangers history in order to take down the ultimate foe.
The greatest story in power ranger history. Well I was always going to say that as the greatest ranger is central to the entire story, that being Tommy Oliver the Green Ranger! Well he is there twice, Lord Drakkon is a twisted version of Tommy who harnesses the power of multiple Rangers! Shattered Grid is an absolutely mammoth story that is stuffed full of multiple versions of Rangers scattered around the dimensions and times but ultimately joined by one thing… the Morphin' grid!
At this point Kyle Higgins is already an absolute legend of power ranger comics and rightly so. The run leading up to this event (Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers) is astounding.
I still remember the first time I watched the evil Tommy storyline during my childhood. I didn’t really understand the gravity of what I was watching, now I do. I was watching the precursor to ‘shattered grid’, the background that will later be linked to Lord Drakkon and his campaign to control the grid. The green ranger is one of my favourite heroes of all time, the Power Rangers breaking of his brainwashing by Rita Repulsa is a classic redemption story. A story that shows kids, and adults alike that even though the situation is bleak, redemption is possible. There is always a way.
Moving forward to ‘shattered grid’ and it is heart-breaking to see just how effective Lord Drakkon, who is ultimately an extreme evil Tommy, is. He takes the mantle of green ranger and shatters the solid reputation good Tommy has built in one swift moment. Lord Drakkon is unfathomably powerful and it shows. The Rangers have to pull out all the stops to protect the grid, the other ranger teams and reality itself.
Kyle and the team deliver the greatest Power Ranger story ever in my opinion. In fact, it may be one of the greatest comics of all time. Out of all of them from any publisher. That’s how good I think this is, that’s how highly I regard this masterpiece of storytelling.
The art team has done a phenomenal job of capturing the essence of the Power Rangers and added a dark and gritty tone! This is Power Rangers like you’ve never seen them before, a team shattered by loss, clinging on to their powers and pulled to every corner of every dimension. The artwork married to this with superb detail, all whilst staying true to the positive, colourful Rangers we know and love!
Shattered grid is the culmination of volumes upon volumes of story that will have you fearful that the Rangers may lose, saddened by loss, full of pride for the little victories and ultimately at the end… well I’ll let you feel that for yourselves.
The Mighty Morphin’ journey and Shattered Grid itself are the results of pure excellence from the creative team. It is a series that I will hold dear for so very long. Shattered Grid is a legendary story that is one of my favourites of all time. Thank you to everyone involved.
“A great evil is rising. War has begun. This threat...Lord Drakkon…He has fractured our reality. Now, he looks to move through worlds...conquering them for his own. If he continues, it will shatter reality and all of existence will end. I come here today, to ask that you--the emissaries three--speak to the morphin' masters. They must intervene.” - Zordon of Eltar
My GOD THIS WAS AMAZING This Is What "Legendary Battle" Wishes It Was!!!! THIS IS THE REAL 20TH ANNIVERSARY STORY Seriously, It's Awesome While You Do Need The Background Of The Comics Beforehand To Properly Understand It (which are amazing and I would reccomend reading regardless) You Could Read It By Itself As Long As You Have A Wiki Open Alongside You Basically, Try And Read It. It's Awesome
