I have seen reviews describe this book as basic knowledge and understanding and that couldn't be further from the truth. If you want a textbook that utilizes terminology and concepts prior to defining them, this book is for you. The confusing structure will leave you absolutely astonished at times. I have never been through an academic text that is so disorganized. On top of the disorganization and strange outline, be prepared to receive an etymological lesson on every page that destroys the flow of sentence structures rendering them confusing.
For any teaching professional out there, I hands down would not recommend this textbook for a course. You may be intrigued by the visuals and the diagrams but I can assure you, there must be better resources than this. This facade of physiological education is not worth the $100+ your students will spend to learn the concepts it attempts to teach. Be better educators for your pupils.

This book illustrates the concepts really well and its integrative and molecular approach for explaining physiological effects makes it a perfect physiology textbook.
