A charmingly sweet modern day fairy-tale. If you are looking for something light and 'feel good' to read ... this may be one for the pile.

This was a great book. I really enjoyed it and could visualize the characters. The author did a great job describing them. It was very easy to say that you could only stay up and read until the end of the chapter, but then you started the next to just see what was going to happen. Highly recommend this. book.

Good feel good story. The twins were delightful and LOL funny. Robin's insecurities were typical of someone suffering abandonment. Her struggle to believe Chad was her future was sincere.

Twins Boo and Lindy wanted a Daddy. They even had a magic spell to get one. Needing to get out of the new apartment in the terrible neighborhood, Mom Robin took the girls for a ride. While driving on the country road, Robin had an accident and hit a stray dog. Robin noticed the dog was female and very pregnant. Wanting to be a vet herself, she can’t leave the poor dog to suffer. That was when she noticed a man in a truck driving down the road.

Chad Applegate the driver of the truck noticed a beautiful and wet with rain woman on the side of the road. He stopped to help when he noticed the twins. Magic intervened at Chad’s pumpkin patch that brought the girls their wish.

The reason I fell in love with this book was that the characters felt real. I felt that I was a part of Chad’s family and it reminded me of my own family; close-knit with everyone having each others back. Robin on the other hand, had her heart-broken by everyone in her family and the twins father so much so she can’t trust anyone. She needed Chad in her life to let her know that she can have joy and she can have a loving relationship. When I read this I kept seeing it play in my head like a movie. I can picture the twins in their Halloween costumes and a beautiful old farm-house with the pumpkin patch. Let’s not forget the new dog and puppies that are a new addition to the family.

This story was about love and the magic of little girls that needed something to believe in. Chad gave these girls the magic of a family, the love of a father and best of all a mother who is loved unconditionally. I want to read this book over and over again and that is not usual for me. But the feeling I got when I read this was just happiness. I needed this book, I feel it was written for me. I fell in love with all the characters. The story was heartwarming, cute and very sexy. While the book does have steamy scenes, they come from a place of love for the characters. What better way to celebrate the love of two wonderful people. I LOVED this book. I laughed, smiled and even cried while reading this amazing book. I just kept thinking to myself, please someone discover this and make a movie. When I finished reading it, I ran to the author’s site to see if I could read more about Robin and Chad. That was when I discovered the author had 5 other books surrounding the family. YES!! The pumpkin magic worked for me. I got what I wished for. This was a great read.

Really good, sweet story. Made me cry a bit and laugh too. Shows how great a close family and small town community can be. Boo & Lindy are super cute. Chad is an awesome hero.

Olivia stopped at the stove, checking the potatoes. “It’s obvious how you feel about her. Talk to her.” Chad leaned against the sink. “I’ve been trying to talk to her for several days. A little thing like chicken pox got in the way. That and the fact she’s avoiding me.” Olivia smiled. “Use sex. It always loosened the tongue for me and your grandfather.” “Grandma!” Chad grabbed his baseball cap from the table and settled it on his head. “Too much information.” She put her hand on his arm. “Oh, stop. We’re all adults here. There’s a lot of pull in sexual bonding. Use it.” Chad flushed. “This conversation has gone as far as I can handle.

Robin turned back toward the back door and then stared at the girls. He’d been there for them. He’d helped them with the dog he didn’t want, taken care of Robin when she’d cut her hands, come when there was trouble in their neighborhood. He’d helped her when the girls had chicken pox. Most of all, he helped her find her girls when they were lost. What more does the man have to do to prove to you that he won’t leave you like everyone else?

Joy, nerves, fear all clogged her throat. “Will you marry me?” Robin blurted, owing him the faith, the belief. “What?” Chad turned around, a light sheen of tears on his face. “Will you marry me? Give me your name? Adopt my daughters and give them your name? And be there every time we need you?” He straightened his shoulders, turning so she could see his eyes. “Yes.” He said it so matter-of-factly. Like that kind of promise was such an ordinary thing. But it wasn’t. “Nobody has ever done that for me.” His silence made Robin hold her breath. “I will.” Released from fear, her heart surged. Robin threw herself into Chad’s arms. Her mouth sought his, the warmth of his lips made her sigh. The kiss was moist with love, with passion, with commitment. Chad pulled away and kissed her eyelids. “I will stay with you until my dying day.”

Genre: Contemporary Romance; My Rating 4.75 of 5

Robin, 25, is a single mother with 5 year old twin girls (Belinda and Bonnie - Lindy and Boo) who are as cute as two buttons! Robin's mother abandoned her when she was young, her father ignored her and her first love took off when she found out she was pregnant. So she believes everyone will leave and she must do everything for herself and to protect her girls.

Chad, 27, comes from a close knit, warm family with busy parents, a sweet grandmother (who is also a mechanic!), two brothers and a sister. Chad branched off from the law inclined family to become a pumpkin farmer (with a little help from family trust money). His last girlfriend left him to marry his best friend and he is not too inclined too inclined to get involved since then.

Robin has moved from the city to the small town of Echo Falls, Texas which she thinks will be a safer, gentler place to raise her girls. Unfortunately, she hasn't found a job yet although she has settled them into a one bedroom apartment in a not so good part of town. The twins want a daddy and are saying a secret spell everywhere trying to get one. Chad appears out of no where on an empty road to help when Robin rescue an injured, very pregnant, dog. Can the twin's daddy spell bring their fiercely independent mother and this handsome and kind stranger together?

This was a wonderfully charming and sweet story from beginning to end! The twins are adorable. Robin is lovely and understandably cautious. The hardest thing is she cannot believe in a happily-ever-after for herself. Chad is kind, hard working and male! He falls for the cute pixie twins but isn't beyond staring at Robin's wet T-shirt when they first meet! The sexual chemistry and tension is good and the sex scenes are "making love" scenes.

This is a wonderfully sweet romance that can be read in under three hours. And there are more stories in the series!

Five year old twins, Boo and Lindy have a plan to snag a daddy but they have specific requirements that must be met.  They want a daddy that "gives piggyback rides, chases the icky things out from under the bed, reads Green Eggs and Ham and has a nice warm lap for snuggling."  They have a spell and the hope that saying it in a magical pumpkin patch will help it come true.

The Daddy Spell is a sweet contemporary romance that makes you wish for a magical pumpkin patch so that you can help Boo and Lindy with their "daddy spell" and make all their wishes come true.

Family, small town charm, opening up your heart, taking the risk, and happily ever after are all the parts that make this such a sweet story to enjoy on a Fall day.

The only negatives were that Chad seemed to fall in love a little too fast for me and that some of the sex scenes are more detailed than I like.  I think with the cover, the kids, and the general story line that the detailed scenes weren't something that I expected and I found myself skipping past those parts. I would have enjoyed the story a little more if they had been written in as fade to black scenes.  But that's just me and a personal preference. The scenes that I did read were well written and probably only in the medium to medium high heat range for those that enjoy the details.

Overall The Daddy Spell is an enjoyable read with a great story that has you cheering for all the characters to have their happily ever after at the end.

I absolutely adored this book! It combines the perfect blend of childlike imagination, pain, trust, faith, and forgiveness.

Robin has been let down by people all her life—her mother, her father, her foster parents, the father of her children. She’s spent the last 5 years focusing all her energy on raising her twin daughters and not letting anybody else in. Unbeknownst to her, her daughters make a wish for the Great Pumpkin to bring them a daddy, when, unbeknownst to them, Robin wants to protect them from a father who may potentially walk out on them.

Enter Chad, the too-good-to-be-true romantic interest who will have the reader wondering where she can find a guy like that. Chad is a pumpkin farmer with a big heart and a loving family. What I most appreciate about his character is that while he does show the utmost patience for Robin, we also get to see his temper and the fact that he is human. There were many, many times that I wanted to shake sense into Robin, and even though I knew the story would end happily, there were twists and turns every few pages, and the incident that finally brought the two together was not one I expected.

I’m excited to read the rest in the Echo Falls series, as well as check out the rest of these books. I think Patti Ann makes the top 5 of my list of new (to me) favorite authors!

This book had me hooked from the very first page. Robin has had a terrible background, which makes her unable to trust anyone. She is a fierce protector of her daughters and will sacrifice everything to keep them safe - even her heart. But Chad is there at every turn overcoming any obstacle she throws at him and breaks down her defended. Full of emotion and superbly told, I highly recommend this wonderful story. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. (Same review on Amazon.ca)
