Five Alarm Forever

Five gorgeous firefighters. A touch so hot it's bound to burn…

The last place I ever wanted to spend Christmas was this small-town fire department in the middle of nowhere. But after I blew the whistle on the big city fire chief—the mentor who got me into this business in the first place—my old crew turned their backs on me. I'm blacklisted at home. This is the only place left that will take me.

The betrayal I suffered still stings bitterly. I walk into my new assignment determined to do my job but keep my distance.

Right up until I meet the five sexy alpha males I'm going to be working with.

Immediately, they draw me in and make me one of their own. There's the leader, Walker, with his quiet but firm hand. Flirty Jaquan and soulful Sal. Corey, the fresh-faced rookie. And a scarred, gruff loner who goes by Street.

I try my best to resist their invitations—and the intense attraction sparking between us. But working long shifts in close proximity makes it hard to stay away.

On Christmas Eve, an out-of-control fire brings everything to a head. In the aftermath, adrenaline runs high, and the passion I feel for these men finally flares out of control.

Together, they bring my body to new heights. As individuals, they help to heal my heart.

They say they want to keep me. But my past is bound to catch up with me.

Can I really have forever with these five incredible men?

Or will what we've built burn us all to the ground…

Five Alarm Forever is a full-length, standalone reverse harem romance, filled with sexy firefighters, lots of Christmas lights, and even more naughty words. It is approximately 100,000 words. HEA guaranteed!

It’s a 3.5 stars!

Great book, long read but since there’s one h and five H it’s kinda needed! Great sex scenes! It’s a single POV book.

As for the story in itself, the beginning is going a bit fast. I mean, the book is long anyway so it wouldn’t have been much more to add to make the beginning better. The fact that she’s a horny bunny from the first moment (I kid you not the first thing you will read is all about that) is kind of giving mixed feelings too.

But good plot nonetheless, some edit errors that need a good swipe, mostly for the second half of the book.

Not bad

Overall the book was not bad. It had a story even if 80% was pure sex, but what got me the most was the sheer number of errors! For heavens sake, someone hire a prof reader or a decent editor! I can’t tell you how many sentences had words jumbled out of order, or words missing entirely. It really distracts from the story. In one scene with multiple men the same name was used twice when one was supposed to be the 5th. I had to read it for a second to realize that it should have been a different name. Geez. The writing wasn’t bad. This author definitely has the bones of being a great writer (in her defense this is my first book of hers) but based on my one book if hers it would be so much better If this book had been proofed. And if it was, fire that person and spend a little more for someone worth it.

Good story

I liked the story, characters were uniquely identifiable., easily likeable, and of course sexy. It was a well told story, even made me want to cry in a few places. Heidi's issues, feelings, and desires were described thoroughly. Intimate scenes involved m/f, m/f/m, mm/f/mm, with some m/m touching and kissing. The season for only 4 instead of 5 stars,, she capitulated too rapidly for someone so traumatized, and every man had a humongous (coke can thick? really?) seriously long joystick, of which she took front and back with minimal preparation and no training. Any reader who fantasizes about jumping into that situation with joysticks that or similar size, Don't!!, without training your woman parts first, it will tear you up.

Keep the fire burning!!!

This was my first time reading Dizzy Hooper, but it certainly won't be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. The plot, unfortunately, was believable and was an integral part of the story. I loved all of the characters. Heidi, the strong, fearless, lonely firefighter was just putting on a front to hide her vulnerability. She joins a new fire department where she discovers things are not always as they seem. No spoilers here. You must read the book. You will not be disappointed. I loved the sex and eroticism in this book!!! Only for adults 18+.

Heidi Chapman has wanted to be a fire fighter since she was 10 years old. When she reveals that the man she has trusted and has been her mentor isn't who everyone things he is; things go bad quickly. Heidi ends up in a small town with five hunky men. This story has a lot of feelings in it. Heidi isn't the only who has been scarred physically and mentally. Will they be able to help each other heal. I really enjoyed this story and watching the characters grow and Heidi learning to trust again. There is also a lot of steamy scenes which doesn't hurt.

Three and a half stars.

This turned out better than I expected. I wasn't impressed with Heidi in the beginning, when she was so turned on at the mere sight of her new co-workers, during her first hour on the job, that she had to jill off right then and there.

I also wasn't thrilled with the several page description of her next jilling off session when she was fantasizing about sex with all the guys at once.

I enjoy reverse harem romances, but I don't read them for the masturbation scenes.

I did like the plot with Heidi's old boss.

Trust

Wow! Heartbreaking betrayal nearly destroyed her! Everyone and everything she believed and trusted is ripped from her! She refuses to break, refuses to give up! She picks up the pieces and tries again! Never again will she trust, believe, or love, she only has herself to rely on! Her new crew refuses to let her keep her distance! They will teach her to trust, believe, and love again! They will have her back, protect her, conquer her demons, and love her always, all five of them! They have enough love to share!

Intense, hot, sexy AF
Although her nearly non-stop (internal) freak outs start getting a bit annoying after awhile, even if they are understandable given her background.
Love the guys, each of them unique in his own way with his own style. Love how they call her out on her BS. A girl needs that every now and then ;)

Could've used an editor. Lots of typos (me/my, heart/hearth, like/lie...), missing words, duplicate words (like when you change a sentence midway through and forget to clean up any redundant/duplicate words)

Five Alarm Forever is a standalone contemporary romance and as my first read from the author, I certainly enjoyed reading it. It is a story about betrayal, finding love and learning to trust again. The characters and story are something you can relate to, which I always love when reading a book. I recommend it to everyone who wants a good read to add to their list.

I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

4.5 stars! The blurb for this book drew me in and I was not disappointed. It's absolutely filthy and I loved it. More than just sex though there is a heart warming story and the bits that really appealed to me were the tender moments between Heidi and Walker. Each guy is special in his own way but I have a special place in my heart for Walker. There are a couple of errors in the book - nothing too drastic though.

Not a lot of details about everyone's lives, hot and steamy scenes, and a plot that hasn't been done over and over. The fact that they are all living together within a year shows the connections that she was always looking for. I'm not usually one for reading firefighter books, glad I made the exception for this one.

A really good book. You get to see the emotional mess Heidi was in when she started at her new Firehouse right from the start, but you don't get to see why until about 2/3 of the way into the book. This kept the book interesting as you see Heidi bond with the men and fight with herself as she gets closer to each of them until finally she is trusting them. The justice she receives at the end of the book is wonderful to read. I look forward to the next book by Ms. Hooper.

Great story

Lots of fun to read, great characters, it would be five stars except for the crazy missing words here and there. They make it hard to read sometimes, but it's really a very good story.

Hot x 5!

Five times the spice without sacrificing plot or character. It's always great to find authors in this genre who are beyond competent writers.

Five Alarm Forever is sexy as all heck but filled with emotional depth and character. There's pain, there's loss, but there's also trust and hope. It's one heck of a read.

I have been enjoying Ms Hooper's books a great deal recently. They are sexy, full of depth, and did I mention sexy? Hoo...these books need to come with a heat warning. I think I just glommed all of her reverse harem books over a few days. They were addictive.

As much as I enjoyed this book, and there was a lot of it to enjoy, Heidi took a lot of effort. It's not that I didn't like her, I did, but she was so full of attitude, distrust, hurt, and betrayal that it was difficult to be inside her head. And I was inside her head a lot since this book was written entirely from her point of view in the first person. And it's a LONG book. Heidi spends the entire time being stand-offish, dismissive, wounded, and nursing and wallowing in her own baggage. Even when you think she's finally going to start to trust and open up, she takes a step back and regresses. She's so full of past bad experiences that she automatically assumes that everyone is out to get her or betray her. That gets a little wearing after a while. Aside from all that baggage though, Heidi is, underneath it all, a dedicated firefighter wanting nothing more than to save lives and do good, caring, and a team player. She's brave and not afraid to put her life on the line for the safety of others. Just don't ask her to open up emotionally or let anyone in. Then she comes out swinging.

The guys though, as always, were fantastic. I loved Walker but then, I have a thing for leaders, and Walker is a superb leader. He's caring, protective, and charismatic. There's something about him that invites you to believe in him and to trust him. He even managed to get past Heidi's defenses which is saying something. Corey is adorable with his earnestness and genuine niceness. He's such a sweet, sweet guy. He's the one who will treat you like a treasure and make you feel special. Then there's Jaquan with his charm, his laughter, and his passion, and Sal with his fiery intensity. And of course, there's Street who is a giant enigma. Even when you peel back the layers of the man, you still feel like he's holding something of himself back. He and Heidi have a similar history of hurt and pain, and in that they share a common bond.

Despite Heidi's walls and defenses, it was great fun to watch them crack and watch the men work their way into her heart and her life. When push comes to shove though, it takes Heidi a little while to trust her men and believe in them.

Sadly, this was the last of Ms Hooper's reverse harem books I've left to read until she writes more. I most certainly hope she does because I love them. Can't wait for the next one.
