Fandom: Harry Potter Relationship: Daphne Greengrass/Harry Potter -------------------------------------------------- An intelligent, well-trained Boy Who Lived comes to Hogwarts, startling everyone in Magical Britain. Harry Potter, the boy hero does not seem to behave in the way anyone expected and Albus Dumbledore is thrown for a loop. Watch as Harry figures out his destiny as a large threat looms over the horizon, unknown to the unsuspecting magical population. Would Harry Potter be willing to take on his role as the Saviour of Magic or would the world burn in his absence? Ravenclaw, darkish-grey Harry!
Great story, but just like the other readers the post-Voldemort storyline was [good but] unnecessary. It should have been separated as "Part 2" or a completely different book.
I don't really understand why this fanfiction is considered "the best" by so many people, but I didn't like it as much as the Lightning Lord. Yes the Lightning Lord has flaws, most notably the fact that Harry gets powerful very fast. But I can enjoy a fanfiction with no real conflict if that is what I'm expecting. This one has a lot of other problems though.
First of all, it seems like two distinct fanfictions, with different styles of writing! The first part of the book is about Voldemort, and the other part deals with the whole magical world and its problems. The pacing of these two parts are so different that it feels like someone else has written the second part. The main protagonist is not likable at all. ( Though this is subjective, and I've read in other reviews that they are actually quite lovable) Overall, I didn't enjoy this fanfiction and I can't recommend it.
What I liked: Strong, independent Ravenclaw Harry Manipulative Dumbledore Evil Snape
What I hated: Awkward sex scenes The author dragging the story after Voldys death The ridiculous "we gods, k?" ending (really don't understand why people do this shit)
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Potential at the beginning, but of course much of it has been done before, as with most things in the fandom. The sex got a bit boring, literally the same description and terms every time, and of course the antimuggle viewpoint is ridiculously closeted, even for a fanfiction.
