Sword-Mage 4

Spaceships, misses, blasters, and one awesome sword. What more could you want? Since it is from the somewhat twisted (in a good way) mind of Ell Leigh Clarke good characters and a great storyline is a given and she has delivered in spades on this series.

This book is so aptly titled.

We have Bentley resisting the role that she is being prepared for by Legba.

Then we have Blackfriar, and his race of Androids, doing all they can to resist the rule of Amroth and, ultimately, Malleghan.

Then, not to be overlooked, we have the three fallen Gods, Shango, Olofi, and Loco, resisting the idea that, even if Bentley does open up the Portal into their true home, they would be destroyed if they tried to enter there.

All of these people are fighting for something that they truly believe in, but it takes an utter disaster for them all to be determined to fight on together, and to make certain that both humanity, and Androids, will have the chance of a future free of utter slavery and fear.

Once again, I was kept on the edge of my seat while reading this, and I'm eager to go on to book five: Legba, as he seems to be at the centre of everything that Bentley has become, so I'll see you on the flip side, to let you know what happens next - and it's bound to be good!

Explosive

Bentley and friends return, battling Amroth and fighting for freedom for all. We see personal growth, solidarity, love in its different forms, grief, and triumph. Watching the characters grow is fascinating and we learn more about Bentley as she discovers her past.

The end is a big surprise, and a lead in to book 5. I can’t wait!

Good conclusion with possibilities.

Battles, training sessions, Legba (finally), and of course the fallen gods. More of the same from the first two books plus androids. However, I finally lost patience with slow-witted young women who keep asking questions and acting like stereotypical high school cheerleaders.

Perfectly snarky space opera

This series is great! We got more answers in this book and a good space battle. I laughed out loud several times at the banter between characters. Keep these coming. Great job!

Go Bentley, great story

Bentley finally is starting to come into her own. She is putting the pieces together with Svend and Legba help. Still not sure about the crew of the Chesef but time will tell. Full of lots of action and adventure.

More from my book 5 review

What i was saying in summation is if you snap it along with the plot 6 will be the last book of yours I'll pay for! Come on get to the point already. Along with that the end notes suck. Way to long about things that have nothing to do with me!

Solid story

Strong characters and equally strong story make for a good read. Lots action and a few answers to previous mysteries. looking forward to the next installment.

Great fun read!

This is the fourth and best entry in the Sword Mage Chronicles. We get some answers, relationships deepen and there’s a fierce battle. Androids and humans and gods - oh my!
