Pleasure Cruise

Rate this book
Clare needs to loosen up and have some fun—not to mention some hot sex with someone other than herself. Her best friend, Kira, knows exactly what she needs—a vacation full of hunky single men who'll knock her panties off. When she booked the cruise for Clare's birthday, the travel agent left out one tiny detail. It's a supernatural cruise, and they aren't getting off until they're married.

The powers that be are tired of waiting for the supernatural to find their own mates and reproduce. In a desperate act to get the dwindling population back up, they've decided to take matters into their own hands. Dominik, a lycan, and Braden, a vampire, are just the two perfect candidates to start this experiment. They're sexy, in the prime of their reproductive immortal lives and ready to mate—just as soon as they can seduce their unsuspecting brides, or at the very least, keep them from swimming back to shore.

Like paranormal entities? This book is for you. Love lemons, smut, adult, not your average love story? This book is for you.

It was easy to put yourself into the shoes of the two main characters. If you're not one type of personality, you could be the other.

In this book, there is one masturbating and voyeur scene and five sex scenes, including one anal one and two including a dildo. To all that in only 120 pages is incredible.

One prudish girl is forced by her outgoing best friend on a singles cruise. Unknown to them, there are supernaturals on the cruise, and two men know that these women are their soul mates. Each woman is assigned to the same room as their man. There is an instant connection for both couples. It starts off with the lycan, or werewolf, watches the prudish girl masturbate with the shower heads. She freaks out when she sees the guy. In the next room, the outgoing girl is about to take a bath when she meets her vampire. They feel their instant attraction and have sex right away. (However, I'm pretty sure the bath still has water flowing, and they didn't turn it off...) right after the couple finishes, the outgoing girl hears her best friend scream in terror. She rushes into the room to see what is going on. The prudish girl finds out that her lycan has thrown out all her clothes because they were all boring T-shirts. The lycan had bought her a hot red dress for her to wear. Later, they go to orientation but the two women are distracted by their men. The other supernaturals leave the outgoing girl alone because they can since that she is already pregnant with the vampire's child. Many men look at the prudish girl. When one tries to take her as his own, her lycan comes to rescue her. They go back to their room. He seduces her, but makes sure she knows she has the power. If she truly does not want to have sex with him, he will sleep on the floor or outside the door, both knowing that if he doesn't mark her, the creepy dude from earlier will be back and he will have to fight for her. She calls him back into the room, and they have sex, as well as play with the dildo a bit. The outgoing girl finds out her man is a vampire. Her parents were killed by rogue vampires when she was young, and she hates supernaturals. However, he calms her down and tells her about how they were made for each other. They have sex on the railing on the boat's deck. He reassures her that the boat is magical and if the boat wants them to have sex, no one will see them because the others on the boat are eating the human volunteers. They confess their love while he reveals her pregnancy. The girls sneak away from their men to go shopping. They buy sexy things for their men, but when they try to go back to their rooms, they find their rooms are not there, and instead find scary supernatural monsters. They lock themselves in the bathroom. They then go out to fight the monsters with a dildo, but it turns out their men saved them. The men make their women to promise to never leave their side again. The outgoing girl seduces her vampire and they have anal sex with a dildo in her vagina. The lycan and prudish girl have sex and they reveal their love to each other, and he reveals her pregnancy. It turns out birth control shots don't work on supernatural sperm.

I love the lycan's promise to do his girl in the ass as well as when he is a bit more "furry".

This was a quick and enjoyable read. It was definitely cute, but the angst is meh and it is only OK on the hotness level.

I just finished Pleasure Cruise and I can't say that I was so thrilled with it. It was good, but more like "eh, it was good." Not "wow, it was good!" There were some parts that need better editing, nothing too awful, but noticeable.

The premise is fun - the powers that be decide that since the supernatural population is going down, they will interfere by bringing the supernaturals with their one ultimate mate from the human population so they may reproduce and live happily ever after, forever.

The book starts off with a fun "office memo" from the powers that be that declares this new plan for matching the supernaturals with their human mates. It's cute and funny. Then we are introduced to the two main heroines of the book - Clare and Kira. They're best friends and are going on this cruise together. They had some fun banter going back and forth, teasing each other as they're waiting on line. However, after a while I just wanted to them to shut up and get on with the story. It was just too drawn out for my taste. Also, there was a part where Clare is asking Kira for sympathy and instead gets a whole lot of banter that seemed a bit more harsh than the situation called for. In fact, if Kira was my best friend, in that situation, my feelings would have been rather hurt. Maybe I'm just sensitive.

The two main heroes, Dominik and Braden are also best friends. I thought that was a little bit of an odd coincidence, but hey it's a fictional story, so go with it. I thought that a lycan and a vampire being best friends made them an odd couple, but again, fictional story, so whatever.

The story was alright, but everything happened very quickly and it was a bit too easy to get to the happily ever after. I wanted there to be some more angst, some more struggles to make it a bit more realistic. I'm not expecting a classic here, but I wanted a bit more introspection to happen before giving in to the fate as declared by the powers that be... The sex was good. I didn't soak my panties, but I also didn't skip around to get past it.

Overall, this was a quick, light read with some steamy interludes. I may check out the other books in this series, but they're not on my top priority list at this point.

To be honest, I could barely get through this, but I did, just so I can justifiably explain why I don't like it. I bought the trilogy on special offer, because I was going to be home alone for a week (hey, you know how it is) but in the end I only managed to read the first book, so that's the one I'm reviewing.

1. It really isn't that I had high literary expectations of this book. The most I asked of it was that it should gratify the erotic tastes of heterosexual women. If it had done so, I would have given it four or five stars. Instead, it spent a lot of words on displaying WOMEN as erotic objects and very little on the guys. Short of having a completely narcissistic sexuality, what is this for? Or was it my mistake perhaps - was it really meant for a straight male readership? It sure reads like it.

2. It's really rapey in lots of ways. I really can't understand what forced marriages and unplanned pregnancies would be doing in a book meant for my sexual gratification, but there's more.... Many times, it's really obvious that the women, while turned on, wouldn't choose to have sex at the moment, in this way with that person. Rape is still rape regardless of whether a woman is turned on, as and when she says 'no' for whatever reasons she pleases or no reason at all. And there's more.... The most paranormal thing about the guys is their ability to use mental powers to stop women thinking too much. It works for them exactly like slipping drugs into a girl's drink on a date... More rape, and I don't know when I've ever felt so turned off.

3. It's got an approach to gender roles that's just ugh! The guys do that horrible possessive sexual jealousy thing. It turns me off. They do the dominant male thing. It turns me off. The women do that falling in luuuurve after spending 30 minutes in the company of a guy with muscles. It turns me off. Being dominated makes them feel empowered!!!!! I don't know what to say. Hey, at the end they even get their clothes chosen for them based on what species their guys are....

Obviously, I don't expect everyone to share my tastes and if this stuff turns you on, you go for it. I'm going to hold out till I get something different, if I have to become a nun.

This was a very good book. It starts out with a very amusing interoffice memo stating that the supernaturals need to start mating. The “Power’s that Be’ decide to do this by having cruises mixed with humans to get the two species to intermingle.

This book contains two love stories. Kira and Braden along with Clare and Dominik. The women are humans the men are supernatural, a vampire and wolf shifter respectively. I found it interesting that the men were the ones to sign up to get a mate from the Power’s that Be and were eager and happy when they were chosen to go on the cruise. I like a little roll reversal when the man is happy to be settling down and the woman is a little resistant to love at first sight.

Now generally I do not like love at first sight stories because they don’t seem to be very believable but I did really enjoy watching these two couple come together. My only negative is that the story was already so short, about 127 pages, and there were tow love stories in it that I felt like both couples were a little short changed. Especially when both women had reasons to be leery of relationships and/or supernaturals but those factor’s were just glossed over to provide lots of steamy sex and a HEA. Now I do enjoy steamy sex (and can I just say Kira seems to have no boundaries) but I would have liked more character development throughout the story. The beginning sets up two really fun heroines but I don’t feel their stories were really told, just their sex lives were. But I did still enjoy this book and am very anxious to read the next in the series.

I received this in a big bundle in order to stuff my Kindle for the holidays. I really just did not love it. This was set in an alternate world where supernaturals have come out in society. Two besties decide to take a much needed vacation well one decides to give a gift to her friend Clare whom Kira believes needs to let loose a little more. However, no one told the girls that this cruise was not your typical single cruise but a ship stuffed full of supernaturals trying to find their one true mate. The two guys in this book Dominik and Braden I guess are met to come across as Alpha males but it came across to me as them being Jerks. I really hate when people do not go into something with out them knowing all of the details. The males in this book used their calming and other mind powers to stop the girls from questioning too much. I hated that with a passion. The girls would say no then all of the sudden it turns into a yes.... Yeah not my thing. Good storyline but the alpha males were two much for me.

This is the start of an amazing concept. Unfortunately they dropped the ball pretty quickly and never really picked it up again. This first novel in the series helped develop the concept, introduce interesting characters, involve some conflict along with the romance and overall make a pretty enjoyable tale, skipping the graphic bits. I wouldn't buy it on its own, and I am not interested in any more of this series but it was a quick pleasant diversion. The concept of shifters being thrown together with their fated mate and not allowed to leave the boat until they get together, its pretty cool. If the chase had been drawn out, it might have been more interesting.

You need to add this to your reading list!

This is most definitely the most fun, imaginative and slightly twisted romance book that I absolutely loved reading from beginning to end! The characters were strongly delivered and I especially liked the double friendship that was going on on both sides of the love. The back stories were fully explained while they also did not make the plot drag. The plot itself was different from the usual romance types. The love scenes were hot and the conflict was mostly internal but still felt real. The conversations between the girls were funny and realistic. I enjoyed every aspect of this story.

Fun and Funny

As usual, Michelle M Pillow and Mandy M Roth work their magic by combing a fun and funny novel. I always know that buying either of their many books or their combined works will be a relaxing read. In this particular story, you have two friends joining a cruise only to find out that it's filled with supernaturals. Let the fun begin. My only issue is that the characters seem to love so quickly. The couple's enjoy sexual relations and love without any real romance and getting to know each other. That doesn't stop me from enjoying these quick reads though. It just alters the amount of stars received.

Very spicy short story. Even though I liked each of the characters, I was surprised at how easily Kira caved and I was frustrated because Clare held out way too long. Given their backgrounds I was expecting the opposite reactions. I kept waiting for Clare to address WHY she was so reluctant to commit to Dominic; to explain the cause of her fear. I also would have liked Kira and Braden to have reached a more significant revelation of her violent past. The reasons were given but seemed an unimportant detail. Overall I really enjoyed this book.

i accidentally read these out of order but this one is was way better. the characters were more unique as to each other and the romances didnt feel quite as rushed though there still couldve been a little more background on the two female characters. the sex scenes werent individually as steamy but overall they were more balanced with both stories having hot scenes. the only reason i didnt give it five stars is that 1 hero got a little rapey. Even if a woman is turned on by you when she says no you should stop end of story. she eventually got into it but i got turned off that scene.

Very interesting read with a lot of sexy and freaky supernaturals.

In the beginning I wasn't really liking it, thought it's was going to be stupid. But it turned out to be interesting and caught my attention. Then I couldn't put the book down, wow to be stuck on a ship with a super hot sexy supernatural that is all yours to do what you want with...oh ya! Now that is a cruise I want on!! Plus you get to keep him as in your mated and belong together...aaaahhhh hot sex forever???? Sign me up, lol
Good book must read, just short and want more.

I... didn't love this book. Not by a lot. This is mostly due to Clare's BFF Kira and her irritating disregard for Clare's feelings and/or well being. While it could be argued that Clare ultimately ended up getting what she wanted/needed because of Kira's actions, I just found myself annoyed beyond belief every time she'd open her mouth or put in an appearance.

This book was different from the others I have read from Michelle and Mandy, I love the way Clare and Kira's friendship is..it's funny. Love that Clare is so stubborn I could totally picture her freaking out. As for the relationships between them I expected Kira to be more resistant than she was. But overall it was a good book. I'm kind of curious if there are more books to this (is this a series?).

I'm an avid cruiser, and lover of all things paranormal... so I figured this book would be perfect.

The concept behind the storyline is awesome, but sadly this book didn't do much to bring it to life. It did have some funny parts, and a little spice to it - but there was very little story and the whole thing felt rushed. It was a fast cheesy read and I will not be continuing on with the series.

Great story. I really LOVE both of the authors. Kira gets tickets for the cruise for her and Clare as a birthday present for Clare. Clare would not have gone otherwise. Kira meets Brandon (Cabin Boy) a vampire and Clare meets Dominick a werewolf. Kira and Brandon get together right away, even though they have issues to work out. Clare has bigger obstacles to get over with Dominick but eventually she does. Great sex scenes. Can’t wait to read more along this series. Love the premise!!

Love at first sight

This cruise was one for the books, it's mandatory that you be ready to get your groove back and your freak on. But, please pay attention to the fine print and know what you are dealing with . Sometimes you could be dealing with the supernatural. They are definitely built to make a girl praise whatever GOD she might be serving at that time. If you want your motor started this will do it for.

I really tried reading this book but I just couldn't get into it. It's really a sex pleasure cruise where the paranormal world has decided that they will do cruises and match up the paranormal with human women so they can have mates. And the way it starts out let's just all sex and one guy even throws the girls close out the porthole and another is in there already touching her and making love to her so I really didn't care for the book that much. So I stopped reading it.

Silly but scintillating

Mandy and Michelle have found the right mix of humor and hotness to bring this story to life. I think I would have liked more of an actual conclusion to the story, possibly in an epilogue. Don't just leave the characters on the boat but, give the reader an ending with a baby. I liked the final memo though.

Holding A Grudge From The Middle Ages

This story had me laughing from the beginning. Two women go on a supernatural/human cruise unknowingly. Each will learn that their preconceived notions about supernaturals will fall by the wayside. It is a quick funny sometimes exasperating read. Just goes to show that a good looking persistent alpha male can change minds. Enjoy I did.

When I started reading this book I so thought it would something else completely. I enjoyed the description of the characters and the boarding of the cruise. This is a full blown hot and steamy read. I actually would have enjoyed it more if there was more story. This is a great one-sitting read and well written. The idea of this book was awesome.

This was an ok read, but I've read much better from both of the authors. The premise/plot was good, I like the idea of the cruise, but I didn't really care for any of the characters. But I'm intrigued enough in the back story to want to see what happens in the next book. Thankfully these are in KU right now.
