My name is Melodie and I'm in love with a guy, but he doesn't know. He walks by every day, I catch him staring, listening to me sing and play my guitar. I don't even know his name. Crazy I know but I can't stop thinking about Office Guy. That's what I secretly call him, Office Guy. We've never even spoken to each other, but then one day he walks up to me and...
Finding Melody is a short but sweet story. I love the way the author made me feel like I was back on the south bank. I’ve been to London a couple of times this year and this location is perfect. It’s full of life and beautiful voices. I can imagine Melody there singing her mesmerising tunes. People passing by with their busy lives. Office guy being the person she looks forward to playing for.
Melody is a busker and a bartender. She lives in London with her two gay roommates. She’s a true Londoner and is good at picking the wrong guy. Office guy is her dream man. One day he approaches her and all is about to change. He’s actually talking to her and busting her fantasy. He wants to propose to his girlfriend and wants Melody to play the perfect song. What starts as passing ships turns into so much more. This is a short story so I don’t want to give much more away. This is an enjoyable read and works well as a short story.
5 out of 5. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. It’s great! Highly recommend.
TBH, This book is so adorable, I would have give it all 5 star but i gave 4.5 because of my own selfish reason. I wanted this book to be a bit long. I know as the author said she doesn't want to scar 300 approx pages but GIRL, I want more alright. The characters are so adorable, I didn't want to let them go so fast like in like 1 Hour. I will try more books of this author for sure.
I honestly adored this super sweet story by Ms Rossi! I am so lucky to have read every book that she has written from her debut novel to this one and the progression she has made as an author is amazing. Her attention to detail in this story was amazing and I really felt like I was right there along with the characters. Melodie was such a thoughtful and genuine character, one that you wish was real just so you could be friends with her. I loved the interaction that she had with ‘office guy’ and how she named all of the strangers she came across whilst playing her music. Everything about this story was just beautiful, from the characters to the setting to the writing. It was easy to read and I actually never wanted it to end. For me it was the perfect magical read that I love and one that I could see being made into a romantic film! A beautiful 5 star read that I wholeheartedly recommend! As always I look forward to more from Ms Rossi in the future!
This story will have you giggling and turning the page non stop from beginning until the very end. Melodie is a woman that acts with her heart above all and she just so open to love and life. When she sets out to help “office guy” with his relationship both of their lives will never be the same. Hearing the tale through Melodie’s eyes for most of the book was wonderful, I felt as though I was experiencing it all myself. This was such a lighthearted, enjoyable read that you will fall in love with these characters instantaneously. Highly recommended you add this to your TBR list and once click.
What a cute and fun read this was. If you are looking for something to cleanse your palate, this book is for you. Melodie is a little spit fire who loves to sing and help out people in need and Isaac is a nerdy office guy just wanting to win his girlfriend. Their relationship is uplifting and the entire story felt magical. I wish there were more stories like this one out there. It is full of love, it is hopeful, carefree, light and you just wish for that happy ending for them. Solid 4.5 out of 5!! "I don't want you to call me, I want you to find me. You know where to find me, Isaac."
This was such a cute story!! I loved it!! The straight laced, nerdy bean counter meets the quirky pixie with pink hair and a tongue piercing. Polar opposites yet so well suited for each other.
Melodie is in love with "Office Guy". Every day he comes to listen to her play her guitar and sing on the banks of the river near the bridge. Every day he tips her and leaves without saying a word. Until one day, he asks her for a favor - play a certain song while he proposes to his girlfriend. That one favor sends them both on a path of friendship, self-discovery, and romance. But, is there heartache in her future? Will her altruistic heart leave her broken once more? Or could this time be different?
Isaac had it all planned out. Work hard, get the promotion, marry his girl. But, even the best laid plans can go to crap. Melodie wasn't planned though. She's beautiful, and funny, and makes him realize that he's lost part of himself somewhere along the way. Can he find his way back? Can he fix what went wrong? Will he finally see the truth before it's too late?
This was a shorter read, but so, so good. It's a heartwarming story, the characters are great, and you'll find yourself routing for both of them. Love it, and I'd recommend it to everyone!!
I love seeing this side of this author. It's always good to see that an author hasn't locked themselves in a box and this author continues to prove she isn't. This is a great easy read that has tons of laugh out loud moments especially in Melodie's head. Her easy free spirit is contagious as she navigates on one hand a reconciliation for Office Guy and Office Girl while trying to convince herself she isn't in love. Isaac on the other hand has lessons to learn if he wants to get his girl back. That doesn't stay his focus for long and it's a slippery slope they are riding along. (I know how many more metaphors can I fit in this review). I love these characters and the story, the support characters as well as they figure out life and relationships. Great stuff from this author who has quickly become a favorite.
Every day, Melodie plays music near the river, and she sees the same people. Everyone calls her attention in one way or another, but there is one person, Office Guy, who calls to her in a special way. Young, handsome, he always stops at the same place to listen to her, smiles at her and gives her money. She has a crush in him. She knows that their relation is impossible, that they don't know each other, and they never will. Until, one day, he approaches her and asks her for a favor. From that moment on, their lives change forever.
I loved Melodie. She's kind, she wants to help people, she's funny. She has a big heart, and many take advantage of her. But she also has good friends who would do anything to protect her. She just wanted to help Isaac, but she ended up falling in love, even though she knew she shouldn't have.
I loved Isaac. A nice man, in love, who would give everything for his girlfriend, and who didn't deserve to be treated the way he was. And a man who didn't realize what was in front of him until it was late. He fell in love with Melodie without realizing it.
I loved John and Mike. And Jim.
I received an ARC from the author, and this is my honest review.
A sweet romance novella that have you thinking and leave you happy. Melodie sings at the same spot everyday and starts to imagine office guy is more than what he is that is until he speaks to her and asks for her help. Being the Melodie everyone knows she goes out her way to help but is that just as dangerous as she starts to like him even more. I loved this story it showing being with someone for the wrong reasons when it should be for the right reasons and for yourself happiness as well. A must read beautifully writing story I’d highly recommend.
Loved this sweet story! There’s something in the expression short but sweet and this is one such definition. It really is short and sweet.
Finding Melody is one of those stories that you instantly know that you’re going to love. It really makes you smile whilst you are reading. I love it when books do that. Plus the whole intrigue into ‘Office Guy’ really drew me in.
Oh my gosh this was a cute story about a girl named pixie. She helps people out even if her heart is in it. Cute office guy needed help but he didn’t take in account pixie might be the girl that could help.
She is in love with a man she sees a lot of the time but he has no idea. Then one day he comes up to her. What will happen? Will he fall in love with her? See if he will

I love this book, my little Italian spitfire shows us her inner sass in this short romcom. It might be a short read but it's packed with wit, sass, lust, a little bit of stalking and love, making Finding Melodie a complete page turner
Melodie loves her music, she's also a big softie with a heart of gold who loves an happily ever after. She'd love it to be her HEA even more. Office Guy finally mans up and talks to her, her being a sucker she jumps right in.
Although this is a short read, it packed full of lil punches! Perfect Holiday or anytime read that will cheer you up and have you swooning! Melodie really is a firecracker, a busker and a barmaid, sassy and a little unconventional and like most of us always finds time for her little day dreams. She see's "him" every day, Him, Office Guy, her fantasy man, her crush. Until one day he approaches her and asks for her help in his proposal to his girlfriend!! When things take a little turn, Melodie being the ever hopeful believer in Love and Romance is determined to help her secret Crush to win back the woman he loves. This book was so much fun and such a joy to read, written mostly in Melodies perspective it was so easy to feel you were there right along side her each step of the way. The way their friendship grew just had me in a puddle. I adored how slightly nerdy workaholic Isaac(Office Guy) found himself and his love of life with Melodie. Love always comes when you don't expect it, love always hits us when we are least prepared and this book takes you right where you feel all those little exciting parts of falling in love that we can so easily forget right down to those butterflies trampling your stomach in all the best of ways. But can two people seemingly so opposite have that Happy Ever After?
This was an adorably sweet story about a young and aspiring musician and a kind and generous guy who meet briefly every weekday. One day, he asks her a favor and she willing obliges; pleased to help him, she witnesses a crushing event that should have been filled of happiness. Considering Isaac her "office guy," Melodie wants to help him regain confidence and self-esteem and in the process begins falling in love. Worthy!

If "short, sweet romance" ever makes it into the dictionary then you'll find a picture of Finding Melodie as a description.
The author has really blown me away with her endearing characters and sweet story line. It's lighthearted, funny, romantic and has a tinge of sadness thrown in to the mix.
This is definitely the best of this author's work to date and i was a bit sad that it was only a short story and not a full length one to get my teeth into. Fabulous work! Cannot wait for more.
This was such a whimsical and fun read with some hotness thrown in for good measure! I simply couldn’t get enough of Melodie and Isaac! I loved how this author made these two characters larger than life! I seriously didn’t want this one to end. I recommend this story to anyone who loves a light and fun read!
This is a short quick read. It's a sweet read. Melodie is a fun free spirited girl. During the day she signs and plays her guitar at the South Bank. She had nicknames for the people that she sees. Office Guy comes everyday. She has a crash on him. I was super excited for Melodie when Office Guy came up to talk to her then I had this moment of oh no when I read what Office Guy wanted her help with. Office Guy's name is Isaac. I really liked him. He and Melodie form a friendship and along the way something more. These are great characters, I so would have read more about them.
Finding Melodie is a short story stole my heart from the first paragraph. Pixie is a girl after my own heart. Her inner monologue while helping "office guy" made me smile from ear to ear. Laura Rossi built up the relationship between these two in a captivating way. I was drawn into the story. I was left with a full heart just like my favorite fairytale with a princess who gets her prince charming. I look forward to reading more from this author.
This was an incredible book. Sweet, funny, and it was impossible not to fall in love with Office Guy and Pixie, not to mention her roommates. I am so glad Laura published this book even though it’s a departure from Skins and Scars. I love them all.
I absolutely love, love, love this book. The characheters are sooo adorable. I kept chuckling at the unspoken dialogue Melodie had with herself and read most of the book with a smirk on my face, with more than a few laugh out loud moments. This story left me with a warm fuzzy feeling. Highly recommended.
I’m so glad Laura decided to publish this amazing little nugget of writing! Great quick, sweet read that makes you wish for your own HEA, if you don’t already have one. I love Melodie’s kind, generous heart and Isaac, I’ll take one of him anytime!
Oh my goodness! This was an enjoyable, short and sweet, romance read. Drastically different from her other works. I absolutely loved it! Laura could do a novella series with the secondary cast of characters! ~BREAKDOWN OF RATINGS~

A delicious heart warming story, that had me glued to my kindle from start to finish. Melodie, is such a loveable character, with her humorous positive outlook, you can’t help but fall under her spell. Taking struggling souls and being a kind supportive friend, come so naturally to Melodie, and boy, does ‘Office Guy’ need some of Melodie’s special medicine. For a novella, this story has depth and all the feels, which left me positively beaming.
Melodie, Melodie, Melodie... I couldn’t put her story down. From page one, Laura lures is in with intrigue. The mysterious man, the crazy pink haired lady, and the failed proposal. I loved Melodie’s enthusiasm and love fore life and being happy. She’s the crazy best friend we all wished we had, that only few ever actually have. And Isaac is the poor sap that never saw her coming. They had fun, grew a friendship, and found themselves and each other in their scheme to win his ex back. I loved it all and I hope you get the chance to read their story.
Melodie is a free spirit who enjoys playing her music in the park and people watching. “Office Guy” is a mystery who intrigues Melodie.
