His Secret Baby #3

My Professor's Secret Baby

Rate this book
She’s my student and I shouldn’t be with her.

But now she’s having my baby.

Izzy is only 19, and an academic overachiever in my college science course.

But I want to teach her lessons about a different kind of chemistry altogether.

And lucky for me, my inexperienced pupil is eager to please.

I want to bend her over the lab desk and experiment on her.

She enjoys letting me work her hard for extra credit.

Both of us know the risks, but we can’t stay away from each other.

And now that I’ve put a baby in her, it looks like we’ll always be together.

Because I might be a science geek, but I’m also a tough guy who protects what’s mine.

But will I lose my job once our little secret is discovered?

Hey Professor look at your proofreading

Was a good story but kept tripping over proofreading errors. So frustrating! No cheating or cliffhanger and you get a happy ever after.

Fail

I love teacher/student romances, however I barely made it to the 30% mail in this book due to the poor editing and disappointing story line. I really tried, but this was not my cup of tea. Fail.

HORRIBLE!

This may be the worst book I have ever attempted to read! The writing is juvenile and the storyline is ruined because of it.

The book is filled with glaring inconsistencies. An example - a big deal was made about a table setup with flowers, plates, and juice that the male character did for the female. Then a few paragraphs later she says she isn’t hungry but asks for juice. He jumps up to get her juice and pours it into a “fancy” glass. This is just one of many of this type of issue.

The editing seems nonexistent! There are run-on sentences, wrong words used, extra words inserted, words left out, words spelled wrong, and wrong names used for characters. How can this be left out of so many reviews?

OMG! This was so hard to read. I forced myself to continue reading to about the three quarter point but then gave up. I very rarely stop a book but I could not finish this disaster.

I cannot figure out how this got so many good ratings. The premise for the story had so much promise. That was the ONLY good thing about it.

I normally don't like to leave bad reviews, but I feel like future readers need to know what to expect with this one. 3 stars is generous.

I adore student/teacher romances. They are my favourite trope, but this one fell flat. There wasn't enough build up to the romance. They didn't really fight the forbidden, they just through caution to the wind and starting dropping drawers whenever they were in the same room. I thought both characters were very immature and their relationship didn't seem plausible.

It did have a sweet ending, although I skimmed the last few chapters to get to it.

The worst part wasn't the insta-unbelievable romance, but the editing. I read ARCs all the time, which are not supposed to be fully proofread (this was not an ARC though) and I'm used to skimming over typos and errors, but this book was riddled with typos, extra words, missing words and it got to be distracting.

Sorry to be so blunt, but I was super disappointed.

I really wanted to enjoy this but there was no real body to the story. Nothing of substance was written that could have endeared me more to Jace and Izzy. It may have started out tame and unsuspecting. Next thing I read is about that same person acting like a nymphomaniac and sleeping with her Professor whom she hasn’t even known for a solid week. The wording got crass and vulgar in some parts and it got to be more erotically themed. Would have liked to have a more solid and consistent background about Jace and Izzy. The few good pointers was there was no cheating and it had a HEA.

My Professor’s Secret Baby, Book 3 of the His Secret Baby series, was about Isabel "Izzy" Carson, a 19-year-old college student, and Dr. Jace Rivers, a professor of Organic Chemistry.
Although Izzy had meant to stay in and study for tests, her roommate convinced her to go to a club. Since she was underage, Layla had gotten her a fake ID, and they went dancing. While there, Izzy somehow managed to spill her drink on another girl, who went ballistic on her. The guy the other girl was with tried to diffuse the situation, but his date was inconsolable and angrily stormed off to the bathroom. Having apologized to both, Izzy decided it was time to go back to her dorm room.
Late for class the next morning, Izzy nearly fell when she rushed into the room and tripped. The professor helped steady her...only for the two of them to recognize the other from the nightclub the night before (He, of course, was the date of the girl she'd inadvertently spilled her drink on, she was the one who spilled her drink on his date). Jace was finding it hard to concentrate on teaching his class, while Izzy was having trouble focusing on what he was saying. For the most part, they could only stare at each other.
That first day of class, Jace offered Izzy an internship with him to help her with her college resume and studies, which she accepted. Once the internship began, it was Jace, his teaching assistant, Trent, and Izzy who worked together on the experiments. However, the following test time, Tent didn't appear. Jace found out later that Trent had injured his ankle and would be out for a while. Working so close together, it was inevitable that Jace and Izzy ended up having sex on the floor of the classroom, then went back to Jace's place for more intimacies.
When Izzy learned she was pregnant, she wasn't certain whether or not to tell Jace. Things went from bad to worse when she got a letter calling her into the Dean of Students' office for "conduct unbecoming". Apparently, the Dean of Students and Jace's own teaching assistant were intent on corralling him for his inappropriate behavior with students..., especially Izzy. As she was on her way to the meeting, her overly-protective parents were there too. The meeting came to a head, with an "all clear" after Lizzy did some fast finagling, and the meeting ended...with Izzy's parents attempting to "kidnap" her back home saying that the meeting "was a sign" she should not be living on campus. But with everything going on, especially with the possibility of Jace's job being in trouble, Izzy allowed her parents to take her home. Jace tried often to contact her, but the calls just went to voicemail (he didn't know she had accidentally left her phone in her dorm room).
After a while, when it looked as if Izzy was never going to return to school, Jace received a phone call from the Dean of Students. She was going to recommend him for a tenure position at the college...and she already knew for certain that he and Izzy were a couple and she gave him her blessing...for whatever that was worth. He thought to ask her what a continued relationship with Izzy would mean to his getting tenure, she said it wouldn't mess with it...so long as Izzy didn't take any of his classes. He decided to go in search of her. Arriving at her home, his first encounter with her mother since the meeting was...unexpected. She showed him to Izzy's room and left him to fend for himself. At first, learning about the baby angered him because he felt as though Izzy had been selfish in keeping it to herself. Once they had it all worked out between them, Izzy's father raged into the room to accost Jace, but once again things were worked out.
This book was passion-filled for certain, but it was weak on relationship and romance. It was more focused on the sex than anything...and it was HOT sex at that. However, because of the necessity for secrecy, they spent literally no time building trust or closeness that would withstand the trials and errors that slapped them in the face. That's not a real relationship...and it is by far not romantic. The light amount of angst mixed with the overload of drama was so unequal and way off base that they didn't help the story at all.
Jace's character was a bit weak and immature. He allowed his genitalia to lead instead of his other head and got himself into trouble. He was a bit of a hot-head where his assistant was concerned, making him appear juvenile in his reactions. Also, when he made a weak attempt to contact Izzy, he was too ready to believe the worst of her, that she left so fast because she never had any true feelings for him. He never took the opportunity to actually go to wherever she was and TALK to her to find out the truth...not until he secured his future, which seemed to mean more to him than Izzy did.
Izzy was a bit more mature than Jace, apparently, for she took the high road and put his career before their relationship, not wanting to jeopardize him in any way. She hadn't meant to just disappear but, then again, she hadn't really had much of a choice what with her parents spiriting her away so fast. But at any time after arriving home, surely she could have found the guts to either contact Jace or make her way back to him...if she truly wanted to.
All in all, it was an okay story, if a little farfetched. It was most certainly not worthy of a five-star rating though, but neither was it bad enough to merit a one-star rating. I think two will suffice.

I will say I throughly enjoyed the storyline. It just needs some work. The editing was very bad in many parts. With a little extra love and revisiting it could be great.

ONE INCREDIBLY DELIGHTFUL READ!!!
Ok guys, heads up. If you're looking for a sweet, exciting, heart pounding, pulse racing, smooth flowing, page turning tale that's as riveting as it is captivating. You get all the excitement, drama, fear and suspense that keeps you on your toes and frozen to your seat. All the twists and turns, ins and outs, along with a few unexpected surprises that make for one incredible experience. The two main characters have such depth and individuality. Their chemistry is white hot, off the charts explosive. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it really pulls this bad boy together beautifully. Fantastic job Jamie, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

Not worth it

So many times I muttered to myself, “it doesn’t work like that.” The sex scenes are so repetitive and seem to be copied and pasted almost straight from the author’s other works that the only thing that makes it different are the characters’ names. And the scenes aren’t even well written enough to get lost in them.

It only got a second star because the broad storyline was decent enough that I could force myself to finish it by skipping the- again, unnecessary and boring- sex scenes.

This is a well written book about friendship, secrets and desires. It is a suspenceful romance that pulled me in from the first page and didn't let me go until the end.
Jamie Knight has a way of writing that makes me feel like I know the characters in the story, it makes me look forward to the next book, again and again. I highly recommend books written by her.
This is a standalone book with no cliffhangers and a HEA.

Illicit love affair

Meeting a stranger in a nightclub who fascinates you is one thing finding out he's your new teacher is something else. Izzy can't believe it when she goes to her Organic Chemistry class and sees Professor Jace Rivers her new teacher is the handsome man she saw at a nightclub. Jace can't believe that the girl he admired is his student Izzy. The attraction is electric between the two and readers should enjoy this book which I thoroughly recommend.

My Professor's Secret Baby: Jace and Izzy's story

This is the story of Dr. Jace River and student Isabel Carson aka Izzy. They meet at his bar one weeknight that her and her roommate Layla decided to go out. She accidentally runs into Jace's date and sparks fly. They think 🤔 they will not see each other again and she ends up being in his Organic Chemistry class and the rest of the story is a good read.

I Don’t Like It...

I had some expectations about this book, but couldn’t believe how trite it was. That was the sex scene. It was so distasteful what was coming out of the H and h’s mouth. Don’t get me started about how they fell into each other. This a huge fluke, just not up to par.

If you could not tell from the title this a professor book and is based on a girl a decade younger and go after the professor.

This is an HEA, Taboo romance, with lots of love, heartache, lust, and sex. With a pregnancy thrown in for good measure.

There is no cliffhanger in this one either. It is a short read and could be read in a day.

Good read

I liked the chemistry between the two main characters, Izzy and Jace. Izzy is 19. Jace is her professor. He teaches organic chemistry. He wanted to teach her much more. She falls for him and he falls for her.
The sex scenes were good.
This book has an HEA and it is a standalone.

I enjoyed reading this Professor/student relationship. I did find too many errors for my liking while reading. It really does need to proofread/edited for a more enjoyable reading experience. My rating is based on the story.
