Sam Taplin grew up in a beautiful valley in Yorkshire, where he dreamed of being a writer, and after three years reading other people's books at university he started writing his own. He's been doing it ever since. When he's not writing about lonely rabbits or inquisitive bears, he likes doing card tricks, writing songs and playing long games of chess by the fire.
Além das ilustrações serem lindas, os sons são muito agradáveis. Minha filha ficou obcecada por esse livro em torno dos 15 aos 18 meses de idade e aprendeu o nome de muitos animais e instrumentos através dele!
We loved reading this book. The music is enjoyable. It is fun to ask children what their favorite instruments are and talk about the animals playing them.
There are not many picture books with sounds, and too many of the ones that do have sound are irritating or repetitive. Not so this one. This book follows the different sections of the orchestra as they prepare for their concert. Each animal is pictured with his or her instrument and then you can push a button to hear the woodwinds or the brass or percussion or strings. Each plays a different melody. At the end, the orchestra plays all the melodies together and they blend into a beautiful symphony. I do wish they had chosen a different title however, because "noisy" to me implies sound that is too loud and that you don't want to hear. This orchestra plays a sound you won't mind hearing over and over. I intend to get some of the other books in this series for my 2-year-old granddaughter.
I love reading this one. Each page has different animals, different modes of transportation, and different instruments so when asked to read over and over there is always something new/different to discuss. And the wide range of instruments discussed and the sound buttons make this a good intro to instruments. both my 1.5 and 4 year old love this book.
Cute but awfully expensive for what it is and the batteries died the second time my child played with it, which renders the book pretty boring. Also, apparently you have to be a consultant to leave a review on their site, which explains why there are so many happy perfect reviews.
