After twenty-five years of active duty, US Navy SEAL Commander Eric Lopez chaffed at his forced medical retirement. Bored, he jumped at the opportunity to work for a DHS Secret Division Command.
The new National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility had just opened and was already embroiled in controversy. One group protesting the facility want it shut down due to safety concerns. An animal extremist group in the area is known for terrorist activities. And, a contingency of foreign scientists and journalists will be visiting the facility and the cyber security chatter is that someone there will be threatening the facility.
With his background in biology, Eric is the perfect choice to go in to assess the situation as part of the foreign delegation, never expecting to fall for a beautiful veterinarian working there.
Dr. Lydia Hughes, a veterinarian at the facility, takes a chance on love again with a man she thinks is a journalist. But, just her luck, she ends up in the hands of kidnappers who have mistaken her for a lead scientist.
Eric pulls together a team and they race to find Lydia before the kidnappers discover they have the wrong person and dispose of her. Saving her life is his mission. Falling for the beautiful doctor became the unexpected reward.
Scenes in the book are similar to what you would find in an "R" rated movie. Intended for readers 18+.
As an Award Winning and International Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I "cut my romance teeth" on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created.
My first novel, Emma's Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love's Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.
My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with. I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.
I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters. When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!
Eric Lopez is a retired Seal that was injured on the job. He lives alone in Vermont near a lake in a nice and quiet area. He gets a unexpected visitor who is also a former Seal with a proposition to join a team of Retired SEALs to work with DHS on planning, coordinating, and leading missions. He decides to do it and his assignment is to go undercover as a journalist in Kansas to investigate some groups that may pose a threat to a local National Bio and Agro Defense facility. On his first night in Kansas, he goes to a local bar to get dinner and meets Lydia Hughes. They hit it off and after a nice date they decided to head back to his hotel. In the morning Lydia leaves him thinking that is the end of their encounter. But both are very surprised to see each other at NBAF when she is assigned to take the visiting journalists around the facility. They get to know each other but Eric is careful not to let her know the real reason he is there but when Lydia gets kidnapped he will pull out all the stops to get her back and also see if what they have can last?
I have to say the last half of the book kept me more interested than the first part. The first is a lot of set up of course but I think the whole thing with the biological stuff was boring to me. It didn't keep my interest really. Maybe too much set up I think. I did like Eric and Lydia but even though I did I also felt like I wasn't truly invested in them either and I think because of feeling a little bored at the beginning.
I also really enjoyed that they were an older couple which I find you don't get as much now with so many books being YA or NA or couples being 18 or in their early 20s. The heroine is 39 it never gave heroes age but I assume he is older than her so early 40.
So not a fav but a solid short story. So I am giving it a 3 because it was a nice low angst book and because it was well done book.
Maryann Jordan never fails to write a story that not only is a beautiful romance, but a mystery to keep us on the edge of our seats. She writes about tgese amazing smart women and the men who want to protect them. I love that. That must be why she is absolutely one of my favorite authors. This book has a more mature heroine and hero in Eric and Lydia, but still a wonderful delight to read.
SEAL Together is part of the Silver SEALs series. Each book written by a different author and each one a standalone story. In SEAL Together, retired commander Eric Lopez takes on an undercover assignment to check into a defense facility that is mired in controversy. Eric was briefly introduced in a previous Maryann Jordan book and it was great to see him get his own HEA.
Lydia Hughes is a veterinarian who has been working on bio-research while raising her daughter. She gets a bad first impression of Eric, but pretty soon falls for this swoony former SEAL.
“She made him want things in life that he thought were over…a woman to love and cherish. One to wake up to each morning. One to laugh with, share with, grow old with.”
This story has some heart pounding action and nail biting suspense that is tempered with a beautiful romantic love story. -5 Stars!-
Eric is an ex seal who takes on a mission as a journalist to uncover who is threatening the bio and agro-defense facility. While on assignment he meets a woman at a bar named Lydia who he finds out later works at the facility he is trying to protect. He soon finds out that he can’t live without her and pulls out all of his strings with his Seal brothers to try and protect her when danger comes knocking at her door. But can they get the danger that is in front of them, the aftermath and their past to make their relationship work or will they say goodbye? You must read this amazing 5 star book to find out

I absolutely loved this book! Lydia and eric were amazing characters and I fell in love with both of them. They were perfect for each other. This book had an perfect amount of suspense, with a perfect amount of steam. Highly recommend!
Lydia and Eric make a great team. You really get a feel for their connection not rushed just real. Plenty going on and of course heat. Absolutely one of the best endings I have read in a long time. Would definitely recommend reading
The Silver Seal series has been a fun series to read. They are all stand alone but follow the same story line. I love how we were introduced to Eric in another book of Ms Jordans and now he gets his own story. Eric goes to Wichita KS undercover working as a journalist for a conference at an animal research center. He meets Lydia at a restaurant before discovering she us one of the Dr's he will be learning from at the facility. As always Ms. Jordan's characters are perfectly developed and you feel like you know them. This was an older couple but it disnt make him less of an alpha or any less sexy. They were great togther, immediate chemistry. The mystery part of the story was a little less intense than her normal stories. It really did focus on the couple and the investigation was definitely in the background. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did.
This was an exciting and romantic addition to this multi author series with Eric a former SEAL medically discharged because of his damaged k we taking an assignment from the Frog team, a group former SEALS to scope out an animal research facility undercover as a journalist to see if radical faction were up to no good. A veterinarian, Lynda was in charge of a conference of foreign journals and Eric and her immediately connected. With the help of a computer specialist, Chris, they worked together to see who was not who they said they were at the conference. As they conference was ending Lynda was kidnapped by someone hired by North Korea but they grabbed the wrong woman. It was exciting as Eric got his former SEAL brothers to help him find her with Chris's help as well. Lynda and Eric had fallen in love and how they got their happy ending made for an exciting and romantic story. I cannot wait to read the next release in this series.
It seems there are a lot of books out lately with the hero being a former Navy Seal with similar plots. For me a few things stood out that added interest in this book. 1. From the very start I truly liked the main characters, Eric and Lydia. It was refreshing the author saw no need to have Eric be arrogant or have a huge ego. 2.Eric and Lydia were over 35! 3. Lydia was a little taken back at first when she discovered Eric wasn’t exactly who he was portraying to be, and she handled it in a very professional manner. 4. The investigation part of the book was second to the budding romance which I personally enjoyed. I had read another book in this Series and it was just too violent for my likening. 5. The plot was more realistic than others in this Genre. 6. I got a kick out of Eric’s sidekick. The young agent was so charged-up with the opportunity to work on his first big case with such a seasoned professional like Eric. Over-all 4.25 Stars
WOW! This was an interesting story involving pigs. Lydia is a vet who does research at the facility that Eric had a mission to find the terrorist group before they did any damage to the building. Eric's mission was a little mundane. He thought he had the men who were the suspects until Lydia was kidnapped. This is where you kind of sit at the edge of your seat wondering if Lydia would live or die. As always, Eric saved Lydia. These two didn't quite get together to start working on their happily ever until almost a month after her kidnapping. Lydia had to figure out what she wanted and then these two finally got together and lived happily ever after. FANTASTIC job Maryann! I would recommend this book.
Eric a retired navy seal is starting to get bored in his retirement when he gets the opportunity to go under cover as a reporter at an animal research where journalist from all over will be. Lydia a veterinarian at the research hospital, a widow for many years with a daughter who just left for college she’s starting to feel the empty nest syndrome. A chance counter at a bar, they both feel the attraction. Their affair has a time stamp but when Lydia finds herself in danger can Eric save her? I read this in one sitting and loved a glimpse of other Maryann Jordan characters. Can’t wait to read more of the Silver Seals books
Eric isn’t enjoying his retirement like many do. He is living a satisfactory life, but can’t call it happy. SEALs have trouble with forced retirement due to being medically discharged. Then he meets Silas Branson and his life changes. Lydia is a widowed mother and veterinarian at the National Bio and Afro-defense Facility who just sent her daughter off to college. She is learning to live in an empty house for the first time. Their lives collide while he is on a mission.
I am really enjoying this series! I can't wait to read the next one!
boring story, it didn't hold my attention, maybe the second half is more interesting but at this point I don't really care about the MCs, they're not unlikeable I just couldn't connect with them...
-dual POV -insta attraction -h (37) is a widowed single mom, she has an 18 y/o daughter -the hero's been divorced for around 20 years, he's kept relationships to a minimum since his wife left him, usually ONSs or occasionally if he finds a woman he likes he sees her but just for a very short period of time
Eric is a retired seal who his living the relaxing life. He is called to help on a light investigation of that is what it is supposed to be. Lydia works at the place where he is going to be. Love the meeting and their connection from the beginning. Love that characters from other series are involved. This is fun, adventurous and full of love. Another wonderful book by MaryAnn Jordan.
This second book doesn't disappoint. Another band of ex-Seal Team characters are introduced leading to a fast moving; intense adventure full of surprises. The Team Commander goes undercover evidentiary and stop foreign threats. When meets one of the Veterinarian doctors, a sideline attraction takes place adding another interest into the storyline. A surprising event happens taking the intensity of the story to a whole need level.
SEAL.Together is a good story and I love Maryann Jordan's books. I loved that Lydia was a single mom, in her late thirties and Eric older as well. The storyline flowed from beginning to end. I loved that Jordan included Preacher, Bart, Rank, Mace in this story. I found myself confused with Eric's background, did he have a sister who lived in D.C. or was he an only child? Overall I enjoyed the story. Happy Reading!
Second in the series. Maryann Jordan keep you interested with twists and turns! Every book is written by a different author so you get to meet different ones which is nice. I enjoyed the characters of Lydia and Eric . I got a kick out of Chris he had me laughing!Nice to see Eric's old seal buddies too
This was a great read! This was my first time reading this author and I thoroughly enjoyed their writing style. The characters had depth and the story gave us a great sense of empathy and understanding of their feelings and hopes. This was a wonderful addition to this multi author series.
I love hot, sexy, older men. This is a good romantic suspense with a few twists. Eric and Lydia's chemistry is off the chart. Eric is a retired Navy SEAL on a undercover mission. Lydia is a single mom working as a veterinarian. They had no idea that one night of passion would change their lives forever. This story had one of the best epilogues I have ever read.
Maryann Jordan brings you great story of live that was wanted but some how felt forgotten. Two charactors who thought they would never find the hsp po I nb ess that had passed they by. But there emotions and a journey you can find the things that you thought you have lost.
I found this enjoyable and it had a suspenseful build up to the finale, the main characters were easy to like and gel with, investing in the eventual happy outcome. Although this is a fairly steady flow through most of the plot as the climax approaches it speeds up until you are left holding your breathe for a few minutes as the story teeters on the edge of good and bad. Fabulous read.
This was an epic story. I loved every minute of it. The character building and plot was amazing. I couldn’t put it down. It’s a great example of an older couple finding love. Just because you’re in your late 30’s, 40’s or even 50’s and beyond doesn’t mean love isn’t still out there.
Thought I was current on all Maryann Jordan's books, but had missed this one...until now. She didn't disappoint with strong characters and a mystery wrapped in a love story. Yes, I was worried this may not end in h.e.a. It was touch and go, but with help from friends the hero took care of business. And yes, she had me in tears at the end. Bravo!
His assignment was to figure out the person of interest at a laboratory that the US government has. Going undercover was easy, falling for one of the people who work there was not in the cards. But like all missions that he has trained for there is almost always a SNAFU. This one comes with more trouble that he finds out that in the end she is worth the trouble.
Maryann Jordan never disappoints. Loved this story. Had perfect amounts of romance and suspense. Loved how she incorporated some of the heroes from past books too. Highly recommend!
Having read Other books by Maryann Jordan I knew I would like this one, but it totally gleaned away. I could not put it down.. The action was so gripping. Can not wait for the next book in this series.
This book was fast paced and if you are a fan of military romance this should be a great read for you. I love how all of the characters in this series, so far, are human, and have flaws and fears, just as the rest of us do.
Excellent addition to the Silver Seals Series. Hopefully all the stories are of this caliber and we are assured of an excellent series. I am enjoying getting to know new authors thru these series. Thank you Authors.
Another great read by Maryann Jordan. This was a sexy read as Eric and Lydia are a hot couple. Amazing storyline. Can't wait for the next instalment of Silver Seals. Loved reading about the other seals of Maryann Jordan's too
Another great story of intriguing action and romance. Reading this series is full of mystery and intrigue. Being a retired SEAL is an interesting combination of dedication and commitment.
